I'll be bringing a DD(12) (Rebekah) as well, and we are originally from Southern Cali (Altadena), so maybe they all can get in contact with each other before the cruise. :goodvibes

I have a DD 12! There's a whole herd of tween girls!

I will have her set up on the teen thread soon.

I also have a DS 13...in case there are any other boys at loose ends with all these girls!

We had a busy week. Our wireless went all funky and I had to figure out how to sort it all out.

Thanks for the updates on the bracelets and certificates and stuff!

We have a new addition to our family. We are hand raising a baby owl that was abandoned at our farm. He/she is so homely and funny! I hope it doesn''t eat the cats....!!!

Other thann who you sit with, how do you make friends with people on the boat? i've been on a 4 and 7 day and have yet to. i have always thought of myself as friendly and outgoing....what am i doing wrong?

To be honest it has been people on these meet threads we have met, apart from those we have ended up sitting with for dinner. I'm not sure we would strike up a friendship with anyone otherwise.

Yes, there are a whole bunch of these tween girls! I heard that on the TA they had a sleepover in the kids club. I wonder if they are going to do that on this cruise. DD would love to that!!!

Oh, and about that baby owl, would love to see pictures. I bet it is so cute :)

I've only been on one cruise. I chatted daily on here with a bunch of them and then a few weeks before cruise, us and 3 other families (all with kids aroudn the same age) arranged to sit together at dinner. We hit it off really well. Some of the things we didn't plan to do together but kept running into them. It was like we were supposed to hang out together!

Thanks for the tip on BB. I'm sure we'll catch dinner there one night. Not to mention most breakfasts. We loved having breakfast at Topsiders simply because of the view and atmosphere!

I always eat breakfast at BB - Usually lunch as well. :cool2:

Very nice adult to kid ratio :)

Our cruise last Nov we had 14 adults and 6 kids we gave our servers a workout I think. For most of them it was their first cruise. All of the kids are begging to go again.

Howdy! I think there are quite a few of us empty nesters on this cruise so you'll be in good company. It'll be fun watching the excitement and joy on all the kids faces, but not be responsible for any.

Well, we have two little one's we'll volunteer for you to watch all of their excitement. Sure you don't want to be responsible for an hour or two? :confused3 :rotfl:

My DD is on the teen thread but she is says to me everyday "No one is posting" :lmao: So I am sure she would love to get to know the other girls.

Mikayla just signed up for the tween thread for this cruise (mickey218) so maybe they can chat there. Or, if your kids have facebook we could talk about that. Mikayla is on a protected page so it will take some doing to hook them up, but maybe we could discuss that privately.
I don't know if you all have season passes to D-land, but we will be there all weekend for an awards ceremony I have to attend so maybe they could meet.
So many options...

DD posted once or twice under my user name. She asks me frequently if anyone has posted but it has been very quite over there. I'll get her to post over there this afternoon :thumbsup2

I'll see if I can get my DD11 (will be DD12 on the trip) posting on the tweens thread, that might be the easiest thing initially! :thumbsup2

And yes, we have APs for DL, as well as DVC points at The Grand. Let us know if you plan on being at DLR in September, as I think that we are planning a 3-night stay then! Otherwise it is a 3 1/2 hour drive for us, each way! :rotfl:

We met a couple+kid on our first cruise during an excursion, and we became such good friends that we planned our next Disney cruise (the next year) for the same time. We ended up having a blast with them that second time too.

And we met quite a few very nice people here on the DIS, who we joked with and kidded with all during our last cruise.

And come to think of it, we chatted people up at the pool as well...many opportunities to make new friends, being friendly and outgoing (or faking it!) helps. :rotfl:

You never know I may be on withdrawals after a few days with no kids of our own. My DH has already teased me that he's sure I'll find some kid to worry about. This will only be the third trip I've gone on without kids in over 30 years.

Most weekends our place is Grand Central Station with nieces, nephew or grandson.

 Yay ! Thank goodness it's Friday, and nearly the weekend

What have you got planned for the weekend ? anything nice ?

I've got a fun weekend ahead of me. Tonight we're going to see Rihanna in concert and tomorrow night we're going to see the Black Eyed Peas. I'm really looking forward to both concerts

Have a great weekend guys, whatever you're up to :)

Enjoy your weekend. Im working:dance3:

Happy Friday! Having a good visit with my parents - today will be a shopping day and then tomorrow I will stop and see DMIL and head back to say good-bye to youngest DS as he heads to Winona on Sunday. No plans that I am aware of for Sunday.

Enjoy - what ever you are up to.

Gail,

Glad to hear you're enjoying your visit with your family. Hope you continue to have a good time!

To our newbies:

Please contact Jeff, TIGFANJEFF, to have your info added to the cruise website.

Thanks!

:scared1:

Well, the shopping expedition went well - even managed to get a few things for the cruise. Now, if I can just go home and pack away what I got without wearing it, it will really be good.

Heading out for a fish fry later.

Cool, we had one of them when we visited our friends in kansas, have a great night.

We've put our Castaway Club bag on our bedroom door for things we need for the cruise and don't want to loose. We've got extra lanyards in there right now. As I find stuff I'll add it.

Any other DVC members out there? We're debating: buy one passage with points and one with cash, all with cash, all with points (using up our points). Part of it is the expense we'll incur in LA when we stay a few days since we've never been. hmm, which to do which to do.
