Thanks for the comments on the FE. I thought about making my own, but I really like the ones on Ebay.

I'm not sure if she still does this, but I bought mine from a woman on eBay who sold completed ones for people who didnt have the time or talent to do their own, or what I bought from her was a Fish Extender Kit. Basically, she included all of the materials--the fabrics pre-cut to size, the lining, the border material, pocket material, and detailed directions. I opted for this because I didn't know where or how to get my own materials, but I still wanted to have a part in making mine. It was meant to be done using a sewing machine, but I didnt have that so I hand-sewed it which was very time consuming, but a lot of fun, because I did a little here and a little there for a month or so before my cruise, and it was neat having somethinig to work on and get excited about the cruise that way. If the woman on eBay still offers her FE kit, and you have just basic hand sewing skills like me or better, then I would encourage you to go for it!

Also about the pocket question mine has 4 pockets, and I've only been a party of 2 on my cruises, but it was still nice to have the extra ones because we got a lot of stuff even for just 2 people. So I would recommend that you go for at least 3 pockets, if not more, to have the extra room and in case you cruise again with more people.

So we are home. The post office delivered our mail. In the mail was a perspective DVD for joining DVC. A year and half later they have not figured out we joined. This is like the 4th DVD we gave gotten since we joined. Also if they want to keep sending DVD's they should send ones that are updated. This one did not even talk about GCV. Still getting these DVD's is not as anoying as the Dee Vee woman. Good thing they don't put her in the DVD or no one would join.

It is so pretty here. Nice sunny day I did some yard work almost had to change into shorts it was so warm! Going to work in a few minutes it is going to be bad as we are short tonight! I am off tomorow thinking of going to see Alice. Still on the fence about the FE.

Nice sunny day here, too and nearly 50 degrees.

That was a tough decision - but ya know, there'll be lots of Alaska cruises, but not so many Disney through the canal. Glad you chose this one.

Hi everyone,

Just popping in to say hello. I've been keeping up with the thread, but not posting much.

I have just finished reading the book "Highest Duty: my search for what really matters" by Sully Sullenberger. I don't normally get much time to read, but I couldn't put this book down. Amazing story.

Glad to see the sun today, its been sorely missed here  hopefully the worst of the rainy season is over :thumbsup2

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Hi Everyone,

We just made the decision to change our cruise plans from the Baltic to this one!

I'm a little upset with myself because I was one of the ones that sat on the phone for hours the first day, secured a reservation and then decided we weren't going to do it so didn't pay the deposit... now it's gone up in price, but what can you do? One of the deciding factors was the airfare was going to be so expensive for us to Europe - $7k for 4. We did the west bound Panama in May 08 and had sooooo much fun so the switch was really a no-brainer... plus we are really excited there were different ports! We weren't overly impressed with Acapulco.

Anyways, on to the introductions:

Me - Jennifer
DH - Andy
DS - Colin (currently 7 but will be 8 when we go)
DD - Morgan (currently 5 but will be 6)

#8560

Also, my parents are coming with us, this will be their first Disney Cruise.

We were also thinking we would like to participate in the FE (and anything else that might pop up). We've never done it but there is always a first time for everything. I haven't had a chance to read the past posts so I will have to catch up but I'm look forward to getting to know all of you...:grouphug:

Welcome Jennifer and family!

The FE is on hold until final payments are made in September, just because, like yourselves, people are coming and going until then.

Send your information to Jeff for the website - link is in my sig.

Happy day, all!

Welcome to Jennifer and family!!

:welcome:

I will have a 7 yo ds and an 8 yo dd with me, oh yeah and dh! :thumbsup2

Are you going to hang out in LA after the cruise?

Katherine

I just want to say welcome Jennifer and family also. My DS will be seven (or as he would say-7 1/2) when we cruise and his name is Collin too. Sounds the same and blame my DH for the two "L"s. :confused3

I like to see more kids join the cruise for my kids to play with.:goodvibes

Cool to see another May 08 Alumi on this trip. Welcome. I think this will be just as special as the 05 sailing were everything was new fir DCL. I can't wait. DW and I were going to book the Baltic, but for what we would have had to pay for one cabin on that cruise we are paying for two cabins on this cruise and it is longer by 3 nights. I don't get, but I also don't care as I would rather take this cruise than the baltics anyway.

Hi and welcome. We were on the 2008 WBPC too and just loved it. Not Acapulco though!!! I don't think anyone liked there and it does look like DCL heeded that!! We also booked the first Baltic cruise, but eventually cancelled because the cost is just ridiculous.:confused3 We moved that to the WB Transatlantic, which is only a little over 6 months away now!!! I'm looking forward to Costa Rica on this cruise, and of course the passage through the canal again.

Except for that one. :rotfl2:

Katherine

It is looking more and more like we will be there with you staring at the ship. We will be the four exhausted adults chasing the two well rested little girls around the port, as I am sure they are the only ones who will get any meaningful sleep on our red-eye from LAX. See you there!

Are there instructions anywhere for making a fish extender?

We booked the flight tonight ... first class on AA! (thank you miles).

Wahoo -- one less thing to worry about!:dance3:

Yay, we finally are having some of that CA sunshine today! DGS (3yr) are watching Mickey cartoons this morning. :goodvibes

Now if it could just warm up just a little.

It is warming up here in Orlando at last!!! Just into our last 2 weeks of our 6 weeks trip, so it is about time.

Oops, deleted as I posted this on the wrong thread!!! I have three on the go and at my age that is a recipe for getting something wrong!!!!

Hello everyone! Glad to see you all managed to get in some visits with the mouse and had safe travels. Jen, sorry to hear about your accident and I hope you are well and the stiffness is gone.

Oldest and youngest and I make a quick trip to Ohio to see my parents - my Dad has been in the hospital twice in the last month and I was pretty worried. He has emphysema and is now on oxygen all the time but the shortness of breath seems to be gone. I had all those worst thoughts and was pleasantly surprised. Now if he can just keep up with positive, forward motion, all will be OK.

Not much else - in the 40's here and lots of the snow is gone. The sun is supposed to shine for the next several days - yippee.
