From Portland, Maine to Portland, Oregon--Cards are arriving from everywhere

Cards are being delivered to my mother from all over the country and from Canada too.

I walked into her room this morning and she was sitting on her bed with a pile of cards and packages. You looked up at me and asked, "What did you do?" (How did she know it was me?) She had me open each one for her and tell about the person who sent the card.

As my British friends would say, she is absolutely <b>gobsmacked</b> with this outpouring of kindness. She was still smiling from ear to ear when I left her.

31 cards and two packages. She is feeling very blessed and happy, today.

Thank you for your kindnesses, my friends. You have touched my heart as well as hers. I appreciate each and every one of you very much. I hope that I will have an opportunity to repay your kindnesses some day.

My cards for her and her roomate went out today. I also have some Easter Cards all ready to go out to them when the holiday gets a little closer. I'm so glad this is bringing her joy!

Awwww Kath, that is just so sweet. One of mine went out yesterday, I have a St. Pat's and an Easter in their appropriate piles, and I just might have a little New England package heading that way too.

I know for myself, you have already repayed me and then some!!!!

Just spoke with mother and she received 20 more cards and a package today.

The woman who distributes the mail to the residents walked into her room and said, "ummm, would you like to tell me what is going on here?"

LOL, mother was very happy to tell her and to brag on the kindness of DISers.

Everyone at the facility is just in awe at the amount of mail she has been receiving.

At this rate, they are going to have to put her in a bigger room so she has wall space for all of the cards she's getting!

I sent a card and just PM Katheryn because now im feeling a bit bad for her Moms room mate.

I read someone sent her room mate a card also. I think it would be nice to get this ladys name and send cards.

Just think of the fun these 2 ladies in this nursing home can have with them both getting so much mail.

Today is the day. Mother's birthday.

She received 53 cards and two packages.

Her roommate received two cards today and was very pleased.

My FIL just turned 76 last month... and his health is declining. I'm glad to hear that your mother had a very happy day.
