Hi all,

Quick question. My fiancee and I will be going on a 4 day cruise out of Port Canaveral to the Bahamas in October before spending the second half of our honeymoon at WDW. We're spending our first three days at WDW at the Beach Club before moving to the Swan. My question is, can we take DME from Port Canaveral to the Beach Club? We're sailing with Royal Caribbean, so I doubt it. I just want to explore my options, whether that means taking a DME, renting a car, taking a shuttle, whatever the case may be. Thanks in advance!

Keep in mind the DME is the free bus service that only goes from the Airport to a Disney resort.
In order to get to a carnival ship you will need to either rent a car or pay a very expensive cab ride.

Disney Cruise Lines has a shuttle bus (for their passengers only) but they charge $35 per person. If you have more than 3 people in your party, it's actually cheaper to rent a car or get a limo service.

Disney's Magical Express is freebie, but it only runs between the airport and the WDW resort hotels, as a PP mentioned.

Thanks folks, I was hoping I could hop on the Disney shuttle service from Port Canaveral, but I had a feeling that would only be available to DCL passengers only. Oh well, thanks anyway!

I recommend renting a car. Enterprise has a place about halfway between the port and Cocoa Beach. It's relatively cheap and they of course have a shuttle to the port if you need it. There are other places, too; I'm just more personally familiar with the Enterprise location there.

Then once you are at WDW, you'll have a car at the Swan. The Dolphin also has a car rental location, but it is Alamo/National. You could try to rent with them near the port and return the car to the Dolphin at the end of the vacation (or at the airport if you're flying).

I was kinda hoping to avoid renting a car, since we're staying in the EPCOT Resorts area and we're right smack in the middle of all of the action. Having a car would be convenient, but I'm not sure if the cost would justify it. Oh well, just have to look for rental deals then!
