So far behind but wanted to say "Hi"! New job+constantly sick kids+holiday crazies=no time for Dis

Hope all is well.

Good morning MeMom! Was going to comment on one of those goat pictures butt didn't think it would be in very good taste.....

Thanks everyone for the kind words about the baby! We are thrilled with our new DIS boy!

Yeah, I kinda noticed that one when I put it on here, but not when I took it.

I hope we get to meet him in person someday - and Harper, too.
You guys enjoy hanging out at home this week getting to know him.

Good Saturday morning! Congratulations to Wigd and Shocker!! I am sure they are enjoying their new bundle of joy. I will keep Carter in my prayers. My husband has congenital heart disease and is followed at Vanderbilt. There are amazing things that can be done now. Love the pics of AK.

I have had friends at church who have had heart things done, and it seems like they are home the next day! I am thankful for the research that has been done and the great strides that have been made in this area.

Happy Saturday!!!

Thoughts and prayers for Carter and his family!

I laughed out loud when I read about Jiminy Cricket consoling Brooklyn over the eating of her sister.

Okay, so your pictures of the turtle made me think of a conversation I had with Chelsea the other night. I have to put in a disclaimer that she really is a very bright girl, but sometimes she is completely ditzy.

Chelsea: So, what do you call a turtle with no shell?
Me: Dead.
Chelsea: Mom!!!!
Me: Well, he would be. Turtles can't live without their shells. It's part of their bodies.
Chelsea: No. It's not. They can take it off if they need to.
Me: Um, it's not a sweater, Chelsea.
Chelsea: Sure it is. There are holes for its head and arms and everything.

This went on for awhile. I still don't know if she was pulling my leg or honestly believes a turtle's shell is like an article of clothing.

I think your story caused me to dream about a turtle. I was driving, and I saw a mid-sized turtle on its back. I went a little further up, because it was right in a dangerous curve. Then I back slowly up, prayed that no one would come around the corner, and went to turn him over. I wanted to take him to school, but he was too big. Conveniently, there were two small ones in front of him. I took one of them. It sat on the front passenger seat as I drove to school. That's all I remember. :)

that's a funny comment because I recently had the same conversation with someone but with swimming as my example. We had to take 1 quarter of swimming in PE in high school but luckily for me passing was participation only. If they had said I couldn't graduate until I could beat a certain time, I might still be in that water!

My supervising principal recently made a similar comment to me about raising kids. She said in our town, we will never reach 100% unless we were to go as far as becoming a boarding school and act as full-time parents for some of our kids

Glad you had a good end to your week with your challenge boy, that always gives a little lift doesn't it!

I'd like for us to write a grant for keeping some of them until 7:00 four days a week, which will never happen, and I bet we would show results. Your principal is right - boarding school is the answer for some. :thumbsup2

Hopefully that little bit will make him easier to deal with as the year goes on.

I hope so. I can't keep him from specials every day, though, so we'll see what happend Monday. I may have made the problem worse.

We had a moment like that when my husband burned himself in the kitchen and told my DD to get some ice. I guess she panicked because what came out of her mouth was "Where do we keep the ice?"

I think we've all had those goofy moments in time. I know I have.

Oops! Just realized I am 16 pages behind! Time to catch up! I've been busy getting ready for Christmas before a big surgery in 9 days that will sideline me for 8 weeks. Before then, I have been busy with photo sessions. I had one with 10-day old twins yesterday morning- so cute! You can see the pics here if you want to: AngBarclay Photography

Time to get caught up! Love seeing some of the pics from July 6th- the girls are so cute with the characters in Epcot!

Sorry to hear about your surgery and long recovery. Sorry, too, that we're not all around to help you out by loading your fridge, doing your chores, and bringing your favorite magazines. :goodvibes
Keep us posted, please.

Do you need a photographer's helper? I happen to know one I love very much who would love to be a 'real' photographer.

We left on the 10th, so there are just a few days left. We're trying not to carry over too much into the new report.

Hope all is well.

Sounds like you have had a very full plate. We have, too, and it really makes time fly. I hope we can all enjoy a nice, peaceful Thanksgiving week ahead and enjoy some family, friend, and fun time.

Jill decided she was ready to go back to the room and put Bella down for a nap. Brooklynn and I were going to stay to see Nemo, and then go back.

I'm a Crush fan. I love that he has such faith in his 'amazing kid'. I use that line with my students often. Yeah, I have been caught singing, 'You're such an amazing kid!' a time or two. ;)

If you have not seen this show, I hope you will try to do so someday. It has perks even if you don't like Nemo - cool theater and a place to sit down for a while. It is a tad bit long for very little ones, but it is good, and it is fascinating to watch the puppeteers in action. Brooklynn and I enjoyed it very much. I did more than she did, because I got to enjoy it in two ways - watching the show and watching her enjoy the show. :lovestruc

Have a beautiful Sunday before Thanksgiving, everyone. I know many of you have the whole week off. How nice! :thumbsup2

All done again, Jill. What did we do the rest of the day?

We haven't visited the Nemo show yet. I think we should put that on the list for next summer.

I have only seen DeVine one time. I alway keep a look out for her becasue she is amazing. Nemo is on our to-do list for our next trip (192 days:banana:). We saw it the year it opened but have not been back.

I will have to tell Chelsea about your turtle dream!

So nice that you were able to have some one-on-one time with Brooklyn enjoying Finding Nemo!

Remember the pumpkin dessert recipe you gave me last year (the one with the yellow cake mix)? I bought all the ingredients for it yesterday at the grocery store and will be trying it out! :thumbsup2

Prayers for Carter and his family. I hope he has a good outcome!

I'm going to have to go congratulate Wig'd on her new grandson. :woohoo:

I enjoyed seeing your pics from Rafiki's Conservation Station.
Bella is so funny!
I went there for the first time on the last trip, it was so fun.
Lexi was so excitted to see Jimminy Cricket and get his autograph.
He was a good distraction from the ginormous snake on the other side of the room.

It as very hard for me to be in the same room as one and not run for the door.
I was okay as long as I didn't look at it... and stayed far away.

I like the Nemo show too! It's very cool how the puppeters work. :thumbsup2

I bought those same ingredients yesterday too! We call that St. Mary's Pumpkin Crunch. Oh so good!
So funny MeMom is dreaming of turtles!
Our Scales is in the basement dreaming of freedom as he tries to escape the confines of his wading pool filled with mulch.
He can eat an entire head of romaine lettuce per feeding! What a pig...

Great pics of Nemo!!:thumbsup2

So what is this great recipe??

Went to Target yesterday but not one Mickey bowl or plate to be had:sad2:.

I went yesterday, so glad I ordered them on-line! My Target didn't have them either!

We saw Nemo for the first time in Sept. and really enjoyed it! Just never felt like waiting before and this time we just walked right in!

Aw MeMom, glad you and Brookie got to enjoy some quality time. I've never seen Nemo but would like to next time for sure! :) Great pictures!

I LOVE the Nemo Musical! I can't wait to take my little one there in a few weeks. What is this pumpkin dessert you guys are talking about? I'm always looking for new recipes to try! Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving! I'm not off all week either! :sad1:

Yep, you should. I think Ma would like it.

We don't see the Nemo Musical too often, so it was nice to share it with my favorite almost (at the time) four year old.

I remember, but I don't know the exact recipe. Since a few have asked, maybe you can put it on here for us again?

We enjoyed the show, and then we went out to the kiosk and she got a little cup with Nemo on it as a souvenir of our time together.

The Nemo pictures were great. I am adding it to the list on our AK day.

I hope you like it. The music, the colors, the puppets - I really enjoy it.

Prayers for Carter and his family. I hope he has a good outcome!

Rafiki's is a good place to find Rafiki, Jiminy, and Pocahontas with little to no wait. ::yes::

I hope they can fix Carter up quickly and he'll never have any issues again!

I don't see a turtle any more that I don't think of Scales. :)

Great pics of Nemo!!

So what is this great recipe??

Went to Target yesterday but not one Mickey bowl or plate to be had.

Sorry you couldn't find any. Try online.

I think we can talk Jackie into sharing. I have forgotten myself now, but I can go into allrecipes.com and put in yellow cake and pumpkin and probably come up with one.

We saw Nemo for the first time in Sept. and really enjoyed it! Just never felt like waiting before and this time we just walked right in!

Walking in is good. We didn't have to wait long this time.

Aw MeMom, glad you and Brookie got to enjoy some quality time. I've never seen Nemo but would like to next time for sure! Great pictures!

I love just taking Brooklynn and doing things with her. She feels like a big girl, and I enjoy talking just with her.

I remember this pumpkin dessert being good, so hopefully I gave Jackie and good recipe and she can now give it back to us!

I am in need of happiness this evening. My car - the one I am two payments away from paying off - was wrecked this afternoon. Airbags deployed, window is smashed, bumper is crushed, side panel is bent. Two payments. Two payments. I just keep shaking my head and saying two payments. :sad1: Drew was driving, but apparently not fast enough for the Jeep behind him. When the guy passed him, he got in front of him and put on his brakes to let him know what he thought of it, I guess. Anyway, Drew managed to miss hitting him, but the car hit the wall and is, according to the insurance lady, most likely going to be declared totaled. I am pretty sick about it. I have cried, I admit. I know all good things work for good, but I am weak in faith as of this moment. I know I'll be better tomorrow, but right now, I just feel pretty crummy. I am counting my blessings, though. Neither Drew nor his passenger were hurt, and I have only two days of school this week. I'm getting a ride in with another teacher in the morning, and I'll get a rental car tomorrow afternoon. I hope the insurance person can get here quickly and get this settled - hopefully as quickly as Jill and John were able to get their ordeal settled. Pray for me to have a good attitude. I can't tell you how much I was looking forward to having NO car payment.

Let's return to a happier day, for my sake.

I guess I wasn't finished with the Nemo pictures.

I told Brooklynn she could choose a souvenir from the cart, and my sweet little girl unknowingly chose the cheapest thing on it - a $3.95 cup. Gotta love that girl!

It came in very handy for a dripping strawberry bar.

Photobucket is coming and going for me. I'm going to hit SUBMIT REPLY and hope for the best. If some pictures don't show up now, hopefully they will 'right' themselves in a few minutes. If not, disregard, and I'll try again later.

That is terrible about the car. Glad to hear that everyone is ok. I hope that the police have a word or two with the jeep owner.

Hey MeMom, haven't been around here the past couple of weeks but just saw on FB about Drew and your car - very glad he and his passenger are both okay, but very sorry you are going through such an unpleasant ordeal right now.

I sent some hugs to you over on Facebook but I'll send some more here too. Years ago John and I were in a car accident that totaled my car. Not only was it very scary but very frustrating because I had just finished paying it off before we got married. We had just bought our first house and couldn't afford a new car. Luckily we were able to find something we could afford so I am hoping the same for you!

On a happy note, I was able to find some Mickey dishes at a bigger Target today. I almost missed them because they had them on an endcap over by the coffee makers and other small appliances. I thought that was a weird spot!

:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

Oh dear, so sorry to hear about the car. I hope you can get everything handled easily and quickly.
So glad no one was hurt, but I know it hurts when your child gets in any accident. I also knows how the wallet hurts just when you think you are free of an obligation and something just puts that obligation back on your "to do" list. :sad2:
