Saturday, we went to the Street Festival in Jill's town. She had to work her booth for two hours, so the girls and I wandered around, ate, and saw a bird show while she was working.
When we first walked up, there was a car show area.
Jill sent Drew a picture telling him we had gone to a car show, knowing that he would be surprised and jealous.
He texted back 'What kind of cars?', and of course we had no idea!
He would have stayed at this area the whole time, I'm sure.
A mascot for some team.
The kids' tent had all kinds of crafts and activities.
The bird show was interesting, but a bit too long. It was almost an hour, and there were very few seats for the crowd that showed up. A lot of people started leaving after the first half hour. The first ten minutes was just talking about the environment, so the kids in the audience got restless until the birds finally came out.
We saw one of Brooklynn's friends when we got up to move under a shade tree. They enjoyed walking in circles around the big tree until we left.
Another craft - making a bead bracelet. This lady represented a church, and she was a little overzealous in talking about sin to a four year old. Think The Church Lady from Saturday Night Live, if you remember that.
I'm sure she was a very nice lady, but instead of talking about the good of God and the evil of sin in a light way, it seemed a little much in the way she was presenting it.
Do you know what SIN is? SIN is when you do something wrong. Have you ever SINNED when you didn't obey your Mommy? When you don't do what Mommy says you are SINNING. We all SIN, and God doesn't like that.
All the while, an exhausted Brooklynn was trying to make her bracelet while laying her head on the table and trying to keep her eyes open.

I remember those book orders from school - I loved those!!
we went to a fall festival once in a little town up the road and there was a pro-life booth there with disturbing pictures about abortions. it was completely inappropriate and disgusting. i get their point, but is that really the place for it? i mean, there are little kids walking around. i would prefer to talk to my child about that topic at the appropriate time and place, not to have them see that at a festival and ask me what it is! people just amaze me. anyway, not that your church lady was that extreme, but it reminded me of that.

I think parenting 2 or more kids is much, much different than parenting an only child 
I would love to do the DVC tour sometime. The in-laws aren't going with us on this trip or I would try to fit it in. 
I always looked forward to book fairs at my school.
I wanted more, even though I was single, but I couldn't afford it. I really wanted to adopt again.
