Can anyone give me advice (besides driving my own vehicle) on how to get to the Hoop De Doo dinner show? We will probably be attending the 9:15 show in November and I was thinking a cab might be the most expedient way there and back. I was also thinking that since we are so close to Downtown Disney, we might take a Ft. Wilderness bus from there. Any help is appreciated!

If you choose to take a bus from DD, get there early and plan to wait. My experience waiting for a bus at DD to WL (which uses the same bus as FW) was dreadfully long! I was waiting for one around 8:00 p.m. and it absolutely took forever. Maybe it was a one time problem, but I wanted to warn you anyway.

yeah....best way by bus is to take a bus from downtown disney to ft wilderness.....the only problem is you have to get off at the bus station at ft wilderness, and take another bus into ft wilderness to get to where the show is.....I think you have to do this if you have a rental car as well (park at the bus station, and take the bus to the show).....I am not sure about the cab. i dont know if it takes you right up to where the show is or it drops you off at the bus station.

I have no right to even offer advice on this subjct but here goes
1. Yes take the bus/boat to DD then to Wl
2. Taxi - always an option but not sure of cost
But I would (If I wasn't driving) take the bus to MK and then the boat to WL.

Take a bus to MK, then take the ferry to Ft Wilderness. Reverse it to go home. Of course this only works if the parks and ferry runs late. If not take the ferry over and cab back.

Regardless of the approach, give yourself two hours to make the trip. A few years ago, we missed a bus connection and the show. There are no rebates for missed Hoop De Doos.

If the MK is open - definitely take the bus to the Mk then the boat to FW (not WL) then ask where to go (it is only a short walk up this path)

If not then Epcot should still be open - take the bus to FW - (okay FW changes it schedule often) - ask the driver if he is going to Pioneer hall if he says yes then get off there - if he says no then you get off at Reception Output and change buses (but my last time there you didn't have to do that)

coming back you will have to go the DD route.

If you have a car available to you, that is the best way. If not take a taxi. Since you are doing the late show, it will be very late when you leave the show (we did this in May). If you take the boat to MK you may have to wait for a second or third boat depending on how many people are headed that way.

The drive is a very short one from OKW, you pull in and you will see where the buses then take you to the Settlement.

Enjoy the Barrel of Laughs outside Pioneer Hall while you are waiting to be admitted to the show. It is a hoot.

Thanks for the further replies/comments. DH wants to do the show for our ninth wedding anniversary. I would rather have a nice dinner at an Epcot-area restaurant followed by an Illuminations Cruise but I digress. I do admit to being somewhat discouraged as the show seems a bit out-of-the-way and like it may be a pain to get there and back; I hope its worth all this effort! :p

My DW surprised me for my birthday in April with dinner for me and our DK's at the hoop dee doo revue. It was fabulous. The food once plentiful and delicious!!!

She didn't tell me where we were going for dinner. She instructed me around 4:20p to drive over to Ft. Wilderness. We parked at there and took one of the resort buses over to Pioneer Hall.

It didn't take very long. It was great. If you have a car, don't do the buses. DRIVE over to Ft. Wilderness.:Pinkbounc

Thanks so much MickeyDad for your advice about driving to Ft. Wilderness. Both DH and I are directionally challenged and I am kinda afraid of getting lost but it looks like driving would be the best way to go and not have to deal with major transportation hassles.

Fort Wilderness is literally right around the corner from OKW. It's hard to get lost since you only have to make about 3 or 4 turns to get there.

If you have a car, definitely drive. You'll still need to take the internal bus each way at FW but it's minimal. If not, I'd agree that MK then the boat back over is the best option otherwise.

If you have a car, I definitely agree that you should drive. You are VERY close to FW when you are at OKW. The route is very easy. A car will be much less hassle than the round-about way you have to get there by bus.

definitely take your car -

take a left turn out of OKW - a right turn at the light - get in the left lane - when the road ends turn left - stay on this road until after it passes the security toll (have your OKW parking pass in the car and you will waved in) - first right after this is FW -

much easier than going the bus or the boat route.

You still need to take the bus going to Pioneer Hall - so make sure you get to FW soon enough for that.

I will further say - Take your car if you have one. If not do MK then the ferry to FW. DO NOT GO TO DTD - we almost mised our first HoopDeeDoo by trying to go to DTD. There was no bus that went from DTD to FW. The bus goes to the Ticket and Transportation center where you will then be able to catch a bus to FW. (This may have changed)

and yes the show is worth it. I have never laughed so hard.

Follow the directions that spiceycat gave. It is the most direct route. I think the WDW signs will try to direct you a different way, but the above directions are the quickest. It really is only about a 5 minute drive. But leave PLENTY of time for parking and taking the bus to Pioneer Hall.

The people on this board are always so helpful! You have convinced me to drive.

Spiceycat - I think you should ride in the backseat of our SUV to make sure we don't get lost (lol). I will print out your directions and take them with us.

Thanks again for all the advice. I hope we can still get decent "seats" for the show this late in the game - I think you can book this dinner show up to two years in advance so we'll see what's left.
