From Oil Wells to Jingle Bells-Bells,pg.66, See you in September!

This has not been an easy Christmas for me, at least shopping-wise.

Me too... at least flu wise.

At 3 that afternoon, Smidgy came home, I was upstairs at the time. Next thing I hear is, "Why is there a Carson's gift card here instead of Penny's?"

I'm usually like this... "I'm off to the store to get milk!" After returning and putting away $50 worth of groceries, I usually then say, "I'm off to the store to get milk!" Repeat ad nauseum....

Sometimes I'm my own worst enemy.
I hear ya... I hear ya.

Nope, all they have are 4 packs for 7.50 plus tax. I walked out.
We went a little ways and didn't see another store that sold them, then Diane did the lawyer thingy on me;

"Steve, you want to know if it's the batteries, right?"
"Correct."

"And you don't want to spend 8 dollars for a 4 pack since it might be a waste?"

"Correct."

"Would you be willing to spend just 5 dollars on a 2 pack?"

"Yes I would."

"So, you value the knowledge at 5 dollars, but not at 8?"

"Um...."

"But, for 3 extra bucks, you could have this knowledge, along with two extra batteries, that would be usefull if the cause, is in fact the batteries, as you are hoping it will be."

"Umm,,,,"

"GO BACK AND BUY THE DAMN BATTERIES!"

"Ok, whatever you say."

Oh man that's harsh... and yet, strangely familiar... :lmao:

I pressed the correct button;

The camera sprang to life and I was now seeing the image of a glaring Smidgy staring at me.

:yay:

She also breathed a huge sigh of relief, "Thank God, I was afraid I was going to have to say, "If the batteries don't fit, then you must quit."

Thank God that didn't get said! :rolleyes1

How many people after they put in a new installment into their trip reports and go back and edit the title page put in the word "NEW", and then that word stays there until they do the next chapter? How long does "new" last?

I think it's when that "new post smell" fades away.

Hi Tracy, not to nitpick, but weren't you in room 7103, down by the cut-through? The way they do it is the first number is the building, the second number the floor and the third and fourth the room number. . [/COLOR]

why do people say "not to nitpick" when they are about to nitpick?:rotfl2: yes, Nebo, you are R I G H T!

uh-oh,. now methinks he will be especially "harsh" with me in his next installment. (but, admit it Tracy, you wanted to to pick on his nitpick, but didn't want to offend him me? I don't care if I offend him!!!:rotfl:... oh.. "hi honey!";)

Me too on every point - how wierd! I've been lurking and wanting to chime in, and we'll be there in March at POR with the DDP. AND I love reading Nebo's trip reports - a little bit of Disney sunshine to keep me going.
I didn't make a comment before because I couldn't think of anything witty to say (and I still haven't), but count me in!
Sandy

P.S. Nebo, did you know that there's a Nebo, Louisiana?

Ok, new chapter tomorrow night. Definately probably.
But tonight we have to check the magic mirror again;

Glad you crossed safely, some poor guy wasnt so lucky last night after he stepped right in front of the bus (his fault).

I read about that Marita, boy, I can't imagine anything worse than that happening to a family on vacation, no matter where it happened.

Belated Merry Christmas to you and Smidgy!!

My mother also smoked Viceroy (100's, in the gold pack). She switched to Winston's and when she couldn't find them, I think she's smoking Marlboro's. I'd like her to be an ex-smoker too. She tried once and lasted 9 months. But now she's smoking as much as ever. Terrible things those cigarettes! Glad they made me sick when I tried smoking. Good luck quitting, it's never easy, but you can do it!!

Nancy, I will give it my best shot, maybe I can be an inspiration to your mom.:rotfl:

I have a love/hate relationship with cameras. Good thing you got yours to work. I only get cameras with their own rechargeable batteries now b/c mine were always running out at the worst moment and batteries get expensive. I love my pocket size Canon but for Christmas my DH bought "us" a huge SLR digital camera with lenses etc. and all I can think us is hauling it around WDW (ingrateful wife....)

--

TJ, I feel for you, you know sooner or later you're gonna be carrying at least the attatchments, sorry about the weather for your trip, too, we sure know what that's like. Oh and I still have my 35mm pocket size Canon Sure Shot, I loved the pics I got from it but I hate paying to have the film devoleped, that costs a fortune nowadays. But there was always something so "vacationy" about snapping in a new roll of film in the old picture taker.

So good to hear the batteries worked and you crossed that street successfully! I'm a bit "electronically challenged" myself and I usually rely on my children to handle those matters so this trip alone could be a real problem (but not enough of one to take them!) As for where we will be staying we have chosen Port Orleans Riverside. We've never stayed on-site before so this will be an all new trip for us. My husband and I are just about as Southern as Southerners get so we figured this resort would ease us into the magic. Truthfully we are pretty much "rednecks" well at least my husband is I tend to more think of myself as a "belle" so with mansions and a big "ole" pond we decided we could have the best of both worlds.

Looking forward to hearing about the rest of ya'lls trip as we count down the days!

Since I'm not going to type out your whole screen name every time you are now officially dubbed, "Cary" for S. Carolina.
I am envious of you, never having stayed on sight it will be a great experience and the transportation from there works just fine. Don't forget to take a great boat ride down to Downtown Disney and French Quarter, it's an attraction in itself. I'm sure you know, but Riverside is divided into two halves, the bayou section and the mansion section, make sure you have it written down on your reservation which side you want to be in, we don't want a southern belle swimming with alligators now do we?

I'm so very far behind. I don't even know where to start.

Elizabeth, that happens in my dreams all the time. I get to class and find out I'm 3 weeks behind in posting another chapter on my trip report, and I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE I LEFT OFF! (shudder)

'Let's start at the very beginning, a very good place to start...' (Sorry I just watched part of "The Sound Of Music" the other night.)
Altogether now, "The hills are alive...."

Great job on your continual entertainment of the masses. For that I give you two thumbs up and a slow dramatic clap of the hands.

Great, Babynurse just gave me the clap.

(oh, did I just say that out loud?)

Monica, have a great time, you and Tim deserve a break.
This time, try to remember to set the date on the camera, ok?

Or do you need me to show you how to do this?

That was a quote from YOU on my Mission Impossible TR.

[(third page post #32)~and for those who are technically challenged ahem nebo, here's the direct link: ----> NEBO CLICK HERE <---- ]

Double Standard, Oxy Moran, Double negative, what's good for the goose.............

....and a penny saved is a penny earned, ok, your turn.
Yes, I read the quote and immediately recognized it from whence it came from, and I just new it was going to come back and haunt me, ergo, the edit. What I can't believe you did though was to go back and find the exact quote from a report YEARS ago. I can find a bible verse in 2nd Samuel quicker than I can find a certain part in an old trip report, Geesh, and they say I'm OCD.
However, unlike you and your picture dates, I DID change the date while on the trip. Sooner or later. Eventually.
These are things you don't rush into.

:cool1:So glad it was just the batteries:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Isn't that the screwiest thing? They were all Double A batteries, it's just that some were more Double A than the others.

RE the fuzzy cups - We use them for Jimmy on school mornings so he can take his milk or oj to before school care with him. :thumbsup2 BTW - They now have them in the $1.00 store here for a pack of 12:yay:

That's good to know, these are Dixie, Grab'n Go cups. The packs I buy come in 14s, with lids, but they run about 2.79 or so. At Butera they run about 3.50. But none of them are really fuzzy anymore, we just keep calling them that out of habit.

You're right about Smidgy looking almost lifelike in the Lego photo! You, well, pretty close! ;)

Geesh! Thanks. Glad you checked in, Aunt Rozz. :lmao:

Too funny, Mony!

When I was reading Nebo's edit I was thinking "I bet Mony could have told him that"

Oh yes, there's nothing that Mony can't do, or tell Nebo. But can she rub her tummy and pat her head at the same time? I can. HUH?
HUH?

Oh wait. Or can Mahatma Mony tell me how I can pull up all of just my own posts in a report in the "Printer version"? Huh?:rotfl2:

Ok, one more time, with feeling

Some people just get it, don't cha think????

Yes they do, and believe me, You're gonna get it!

Hey Ponzi, sorry to hear about the flu. Stay away from me!

I'm usually like this... "I'm off to the store to get milk!" After returning and putting away $50 worth of groceries, I usually then say, "I'm off to the store to get milk!" Repeat ad nauseum....
Yep, couldn't put it any better. [/COLOR

Quoting nebo;
"How long does the "new" last when it's put into a trip report title?

I think it's when that "new post smell" fades away.

That's funny. I was thinking new car smell when I wrote that, you took it to a higher level though.

Great updates!!! We were also there in Dec and it was COLD!!

hi Mary, haven't seen you in a while, welcome back! And yes, I really hated the cold, I can stay up here for that.

why do people say "not to nitpick" when they are about to nitpick?:rotfl2: yes, Nebo, you are R I G H T!

No, "Ouch" involved.
Not from a person who still has a dancing pumpkin in her signature from two years ago.

Well, class, we have some new students joining us today, let's all show them a friendly welcome and greet them with open arms.

I am coming out of lurking to tell you and Smidgy how much I am enjoying reading the trip reports!!!:tinker: My next family trip is in March with the DDP, staying at POR and Disney is becoming a bit of an obsession for me. :confused3

Hi, and welcome to the "all pick on nebo all the time" thread, hope you enjoy your stay. Holy cow, this is your first ever post, wow, I'm your first one. I hope it was special, no, not gonna ask "was it good for you?"

But you know I have to try to do something with your screen name, have to figure out what it stands for, if you think I"m typing that out every time your nuts.
hmmm, but what to do with you, what to do. So many possibilities, hmm.
I know!

"Gryffindor!"
Oh wait, wrong muse.

Ok, I figured it out:
You were the 66th monkey to go up in space! A Chimpbnaut. Huh? I get it?
Dang, no wonder I have so many people that only post once.
Chimpy, everyone here reading any of this has the same Disney obsession, believe me, you're not alone. Just accept it.

Me too on every point - how wierd! I've been lurking and wanting to chime in, and we'll be there in March at POR with the DDP. AND I love reading Nebo's trip reports - a little bit of Disney sunshine to keep me going.

Sandy

P.S. Nebo, did you know that there's a Nebo, Louisiana?

Welcome aboard Sandy, nice to have you. And don't worry, I haven't thought of anything witty to say in over the last 3 trip reports either, just ask any of the readers.
No, I didn't know there was a Nebo, Louisiana, how many people, about? A few years ago I found out there was a Nebo, Illinois, my home state that I didn't know was there.
Reason for that:
Pop. 422

Unless Betty Lou finally had the baby.

No, I 've never visited there, it's SW of Chicago, my car only goes SE, towards Florida.

Mony, I do believe Nebo just issued you a challenge :laughing:popcorn::

Better get to it before going back to 18 million kids and 15 night classes that you get A's in... :teacher:

A warm welcome to Chmbnaut and Sandy!

No worries, I never have anything witty to say either, so I just chime in with anything. Somehow Nebo and Smidgy haven't put me on permant ignore yet (as of this minute anyway)

Nrod.. my sister lives in Maynard, Mass. she loves it. sorry about all the snow you're getting (I hate snow)

I'm not far from Maynard, but my mother grew up in West Concord which is right next door. I've spent lots of time driving threw Maynard and at the Maynard McDonald's. Also when I was younger we used to get pizza at the Maynard House of Pizza. So I know that area pretty well. Have you ever visited?

We are trying to enjoy the snow...well, my boys are anyway. We only got about a foot where I live. Glad you guys got to enjoy a little sun on your trip. Sounds like it did not last though.

And Nebo, I sure hope you can be an inspiration to my Mom! Happy New Year to you both!!!

Hi Tracy, not to nitpick, but weren't you in room 7103, down by the cut-through? The way they do it is the first number is the building, the second number the floor and the third and fourth the room number. It was nice running into you and Bill that night, too bad it was so late and we didn't have more time to talk.

We were in room 7103, you are right (bet you don't hear that very much :lmao:). For some reason I don't seem to type very well when I am hopped up on cold medication :rotfl:. It was great getting to meet you both, it was so cold that night too and I didn't want to talk your ears off while we froze.

why do people say "not to nitpick" when they are about to nitpick?:rotfl2: yes, Nebo, you are R I G H T!

Hi Smidgy, I hadn't noticed my typing error, I haven't been on the DIS that much Bill and I have both been sick . I can't wait to read more about your trip.

Hey Nebo and Smidgy!! Have been missing a while. The whole family has been sick but going to catch up soon. I wanted to stop in and tell you both that we had a "NEBO/ SMIDGY MOMENT" on our trip. It was near the end of our trip and I can't tell you all about it now as I haven't even started my TR yet. But when it happened I started laughing and told Jon, "We are having a NEBO/ SMIDGY moment"! He looked at me like I was crazy and then knew I was having a DIS moment myself. Just wanted to let you both know that you were though of... even at a not such a good time in our trip! :rotfl:

party:wishing you and smidgy a happy and safe New Year.
I want to thank you so much for your trip reports. They are really fun to read. Lance and I enjoy them and appreciate that you take the time to make us all laugh here on the dis boards.

I just found Nebo, Louisiana quite by accident while going through some documents. I looked at it on google maps and I don't think there is a community or a population - it's just a spot on the map.
