From Oil Wells to Jingle Bells-Bells,pg.66, See you in September!

Janet, I am so sorry. I wish there was something I could do to help. And I can imagine how difficult and hectic it must be when you live over a thousand miles apart, you have our heartfelt condolensces, it must be very tough on your father too, I feel so bad.

Good evening.
I'm sure a lot of you will be a bit disappointed in tonight's chapter, but I have to do this.

As you can tell, we have reached the homestretch of the current trip, but before this report ends, I need to share something with you all that doesn't rhyme with "vowels".

Mainly, pics and thoughts.

And since our own family is ready to disown us due to all things Disney, who better to share photos with then others who have the same disease we have?

I"m looking right at YOU!

It's like this;
We were also in the World in August of 09, and I mentioned before, April of '10.
Neither trip was eventful enought to warrant a trip report, but we did take some photos I want to share.

I also REALLY never intended to do a report on this trip, that's why there was even fewer photos taken, and my little notebook I jot stuff down in didnt even make the trip.
But, as you can tell, one thing after another happened, and by the time I realized that it might be trip report worthy, all the photo ops were gone, and I can't get the Delorean started to be able to go back and take them like I should have.

As you can tell, our room views have always been important to us, moreso for Smidgy and we have been really lucky in almost all our trips to the Mouse and Universal.
Just to prove that I'm not making up the list mania and OCD I suffer from, we have now gone through the check-in process 39 times between Disney and Uni.
34 for a Disney room, 5 for a Universal on site room, off sites don't count.

Of those 39 check-ins, only a few times were we less then happy about our room and location. And even those weren't really bad and no, I'm not counting the room at Sports as being bad because it was exactly what we wanted, our only problem there was that you can't choose your neighbors.

As for bad rooms?
On our first trip for only 3 nights to Pop, we had the fifties building closest to the food court, facing the parking lot. If there's a parking lot involved, Diane doesn't want it.

The biggest problem with that room was that Pop was relatively new, and we were on the 4th floor.
And since the landscaping was also new, the trees planted outside between the building and the parking lot didn't reach that high yet, 2nd or 3rd floor wouldn't have been so bad.

We also had a one nighter in Touchdown section at Sports.
This was right on the main walkway through the resort adn most people would have been thrilled with it I guess, and really close to the main pool and food court.
But we didn't like it at all. The football field is just barren, a big waste of space, the huge icons are boring, and I guaranteed you, there will be kids playing something in that
field all day and night long.

Another crappy room we didn't care for was when all we cjould get was a "preferred " room at Movies, since we had little choice we asked for Dalmations.

Well we got Dalmations all right, but the room was on the inside facing the other Dalmations building with a "forest" in between.
It was quiet, but too quiet, and very dark due to all the trees, not festive at all considering you're staying in 101 Dalmations.

But that's about it as for complaining, everything else we were usually very pleased with.

More than pleased.
I thought we had great rooms as you can see from the pics from Vero and Beach Club, those are views "To die for!"
(yes, I'm going to punish me fingers later for typing that, I just can't until I finish up here)

So, in April we were at French Quarter for a while, and then Riverside for 6 nights.
We got exactly where we wanted at FQ, but it took some work.
On original check in, we had the manager as our checkerinner, and he was a major turd.
We had requested Building 6, facing the street, so of course he put us in building 4, faceing the parking lot. He tried to tell us it faced a garden, and that there wasn't any other rooms available anyway, so we went and looked at it.

Yeah, it faced a bit of a garden, it mostly faced the warehouse building and a used car lot and we went back and rejected it.

It was a Sunday, the biggest turnover day in the World and we were early, around ten o'clock, no way is he going to get away with telling me there are no other rooms available.

I was all ready to let him have it, but I guess he had already put in his 20 minute shift and we got another guy.
Told this guy we didn't like our room, we had requested building 6 facing the street so he put us in building 6 facing the street.

That simple.

I didn't take pictures of this location because we had stayed in a room two doors down before and took the room biew pics then.
But even better this time?
It was a corner room, and Nebo loves corner rooms.

Not sure why, but that extra side window makes the room so much more cheerier, and the room seems larger too.

When we moved over to Riverside, we wanted a total change from what we've had in the past.

Even though we may like a certain section of a resort, we'll choose a totally different area just to make the trip somehow different.
Like we have always stayed in either 60's or 50's at Pop, but this December we have asked to be in the 80's section just to make it different.

At Riverside, we've stayed in buildings 16 and 18 before, and the Oak Manor building in the Mansion section. This time I asked for building 39 in the bayous.

Even though it is a long walk to the food court, it is close to '
the bridge to 'Ol Man Island, is near to a bayou section quiet pool, and is also near the Magnolia Terrace quiet pool.
That gives us an easy walk to 3 totally differently themed pools.

I also like the looks of the buildings way in the back of the bayou, they have a cool stone facade instead of all wood.

Now, even though our room in 39, second floor faced a huge copse of trees, it was all of 8 steps till you rounded a corner with a completey different view.
(yes, Danielle, you're right, the entire reason I'm doing this chapter is just so I can finally use the word "copse" in a sentance)

So here is basically our view from bldg. 39:

FQandRivKaylieatOaks019.jpg

I think that's a terrific view to be faced with first thing in the morning.

Let's check it out at night:

FQandRivKaylieatOaks029.jpg

That pool was so inviting at night that at least a couple times when we got back from fireworks we had to throw in our suits and go in, at least for a little bit.
Especially when it's that close.

Ok, let's back up to August now.

This trip probably went through more metamorphosis than any other trip we ever planned; including from on to off to back on again.

And at the last second, one month away, we added in the Royal Pacific for three nights at Universal.
This was pre Harry, but the Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit was in soft opening.

This trip was 3 nights RP, 3 nights room only at CBR, and then 8 nights free dining at Pop.
Let's start with Pop.

( oh take it easy, McDisney, this will all be over soon and we'll have a real chapter up in a couple nights)
(yes, yes, I know it's boring, why don't you go in your room and play X-Box until I'm done?)

At Pop, for reasons even I don't understand, I have always wanted to stay in the very end 50's building, the one with the jukebox. I requested it this time and said I want 2nd floor, facing the pool.
That's one thing nice about the Values, you can request pool views without paying extra since they don't have a category for that.

Yet.

They put us in the exact room I wanted, I couldn't have gotten closer if I had given them the exact room number.

But for some reason I still don't totally understand, it was a let down.

Here's the room views, I think I have day and night:

augustvistarpcbr048-Copy.jpg

augustvistarpcbr057.jpg

Still not sure why that wasn't a good spot, probably because it really was a long walk to refill the mugs, and to get to the bus stops, and I'm sure the swat team outside our room one morning cuz somebody had thrown something through the picture window during the night didn't help.
There also wasn't a nearby smoking section.

Before we got to Pop that trip, we first were at CBR for 3 nights. This room location was important because it was before the package, no park tickets or dining yet so we were going to spend a lot of time at the resort.

This time we struck gold.

It was booked because they had sent us another PIN code, only by the time I decided to act on it, the only thing open was Water View rooms for an extra ten bucks a night.

We asked for Jamaica or Aruba, I like the walk across the bridge.

They gave us Aruba, second floor, and facing the lake.
It was just a gorgeous room. But that's not all.
It was also a corner room, and the side window faced out to the Aruba quiet pool, I don't think there is a better room in the entire resort!

I think all these pictures are from standing directly in front of our door.

We still say those were some of the best 3 days we have ever spent in disney, not haveing to worry about rope drops, busses, anything, just swimming, eating, sleeping and drinking, I could run up to the room from the quiet pool and make drinks and be back down in no time.

The best thing about the quiet pools at the moderates is that you can bring in inner tubes and blow up rafts, at all the other pools you can only use noodles, or, you can use inner tubes providing they are totally transparent, including all the pools at Pop or the other Values.

Speaking of Pop, these were also taken this trip:

But,,,,,,,,,,,
AS nice as the room was at CBR, it could't touch what we ended up with at Royal Pacific.

THis was a once in a lifetime fluke, I'm sure.

When we decided at the last minute to try to add in Royal Pacific and Universal, all the rooms were taken, but we could get a AAA room at Hard Rock for more money.

I wasn't crazy about this, but we booked it anyway, and plus, the Hard Rock no longer honors the Loews membership card.

Let me try to explain this to you.

All three of the Uni hotels belong to Loews, the last time we stayed at Royal Pacific was in '06, May, and with the Loews card we got a free bottle of wine and some peanuts at check in, brought to our room.
You can also get a free room upgrade, if available, late check out, if available, free use of the spa and fitness rooms, free newspaper, and some other junk.
It didn't cost anything back then so after using it that one time, it's been languishing in my wallet ever since.

About a couple of weeks before our trip, I tried one more time to see if we could switch over to Royal Pacific instead of Hard Rock, I knew the odds of it were zero, especially if I wanted a AAA discount.

Well, long story short, they now had a room for us, WITH AAA discount. I think it was 184 a night plus tax.
Yes, I k now it's not cheap, but believe me, if you want to do the parks there it is well worth it.
Very well worth it.

Your room key becomes a permanent fastpass, as many times as you want to use it. You can ride Hulk, or Spiderman until you're blue in the face.
Or green as the case may be.

And both parks are a short walk away. Plus,,,,,,
They encourage you to use the other resort pools, also a walk or boat ride away. The only thing you don't want to do is eat at the resorts, much cheaper to eat in the parks or Citywalk.

So when I found out a room was open, I grabbed it, then mentioned to the girl that we are members of Loews First.
Her response was "Great, if one is available, what kind of room upgrade would you like?"

Since we had requested a smoking room, yes, they still have them at Royal Pacific, not at Hard Rock, about the only thing I could think of was a pool view, I know that costs about 25 bucks more a night then the standard room we have now booked.

But I also remember that they don't have smoking rooms facing the pool, so that would be a waste of time to request it.

So, laughing I said, "Oh, a king bed suite would be a nice upgrade!"

She laughed too, then said, "Ok, I'll put that down."

The night before we checked in at RP we had spent at a Knight's inn on 192, right below Disney's Animal Kingdom.
Believe me, it felt really strange to cut through the DIsney grounds to get to the back roads that take you to Universal. "Hi DisneyWorld, no, not staying here yet, see you in 4 days!"

We pulled up at RP about 10:30, I dropped Diane off at the lobby entrance, then followed the guy directing the cars on where to park and went to park the car while she got in line in the meantime.

Only thing was, by the time I got there, whe was just finishing up checking us in.
I signed my name a couple of times and she said our room is ready now.

Great.
Now I"m pulling the car around yet again, drop off all the stuff with her and she went up with a bell hop to the room while I worked on my new hobby, parking the car.

At this point I still didn't even know what kind of room we had. I'm not kidding, I thought of asking, but I figured I'd find out soon enough anyways.

She had the door closed so I knocked, she let me in with this huge grin on her face.

The room was huge!
The first thing I saw was a big screen tv sitting on a bureau, then a desk with a chair in front where a computer was.
A coffee table, couch, lamps all over, chairs with a hassock, the only thing I didn't see was an actual bed and I mentioned that to Diane.

The grin got even bigger as she opened up this door I assumed was a closet,,,,,,,
and it opened into another huge room, maybe a little smaller.

AH,,, here's the beds, and another bathroom, wet bar, another plasma tv, but this one was only about 32 inches, dressers, we have never gotten something like this before, just incredible.

We didn't ever want to leave the room!
Or rooms.

What i'm leaving out, I'm sure she will fill in.

Here we go:

Well, there you have it.
Unfortunately, this is now a bar that has been raised so high, there is no way it can ever be topped, at least I don't see how it could be.
And this upgrade didn't cost us a penny more.

This was one time I truly felt rich, somebody special.
I was stopping people walking down the hall and inviting them in for a drink.
Got a lot of funny looks.

Ok, thank you all for letting me show our pictures , at least now I feel I've done someting with them.
Anyway, the moral of the story if there is one, is
"Don't ever be afraid to ask for an upgrade, or anything else for that matter."

You just never know!

Wow! Nice room at RP!

I didn't mind the show and tell. I like looking at pics of resorts. The CBR pics reminded me of '07 trip with all my family there. Sigh!

Hey, you have a great trip, I'm still looking for our Caribbean honeymoon cruise pictures, we'll compare tans.

 You've never seen a picture of me I take it! I am very fair skinned ~ I haven't a prayer to get a tan like yours!

Oh, and let me know if you can spot the terrorist at the airport. '
Oh wait, you live in Florida now, hmmm, probably driving to the ship. Crap. What a waste of a good line I was going to give you.

Believe it or not, we flew away from all of these perfectly good ports here in FL, all the way to San Juan to get on the ship! This way we could see some islands that are further south but still just take a 7 day cruise. :thumbsup2

Anyway.......... I am all caught up! I've been snort laughing for about an hour and a half! :happytv:

I am truly sorry about your not so pleasant ending to Ohana. I love that place! I love those noodles! I love those pork wonton thingies (whatever they're called)! I didn't try the shrimp. I do not like them Sam I Am.

There are many, many other funnies I could highlight but I won't.... no need to take up TR space that you could be putting to much better use!

It's good to be back. :goodvibes

It is good to find this TR by the famous Nebo.
Only had time to read to page 20 tonite. Gotta get to bed.
Wondered where you and your wife vanished to - glad you are both back.

That pool was so inviting at night that at least a couple times when we got back from fireworks we had to throw in our suits and go in, at least for a little bit.

Shouldn't you have put your suits ON insted of just throwing them in and skinny dipping? I'm pretty sure Disney frowns on that. :confused3

Seriously though, nice comparison shopping of hotel rooms.

You just never know!

Alright, the spacing on the code for this picture was off, so I just had to be nosy and see what I had missed.
And aren't those upgrades great? We once got a room at a place in San Diego that had a sliding door that opened onto their "quiet" pool. Nobody else seemed to know about the pool, so we were the only ones using it. Heaven!
Oh, and I almost forgot. You earned 50 bonus points for working the word "copse" into the report without leading up to it with, "Cheese it, the . . ."

Good evening.
And since our own family is ready to disown us due to all things Disney, who better to share photos with then others who have the same disease we have?

34 for a Disney room, 5 for a Universal on site room, off sites don't count.

you folks do realize that includes many "split stays"? no we haven't been there 39 times, darn
As for bad rooms?

well, I think it was 3rd floor, but no matter. either way, the trees weren't tall enough to blcok the view of cars. I hate a view of cars:headache:

Another crappy room we didn't care for was when all we cjould get was a "preferred " room at Movies, since we had little choice we asked for Dalmations.
actually, we thought preferred gauranteed us Fantasia (it used to) we were diappointed to get Dalmations, and even more disappointed with the view. it wactually was a "semi" parking lot view (no, not a view of semis) we went back and argued that we weren't paying a preferred price for a parking lot view. were told emphatically that "preferred" was for the proximity to the food court, etc, NOT the view. and there was no talking our way into another view.. no way.. no how.

(yes, I'm going to punish me fingers later for typing that, I just can't until I finish up here)
we hit the jackpot this trip with room views!
So, in April we were at French Quarter for a while, and then Riverside for 6 nights.
We got exactly where we wanted at FQ, but it took some work.
On original check in, we had the manager as our checkerinner, and he was a major turd.
We had requested Building 6, facing the street, It was a corner room, and Nebo loves corner rooms.
by facing the street, he means this little cobblestone street, with lanterns, etc, rod iron fences, looks like New Orlean. no cars go down this street, but the horse and carriage ride does! it's so cool to hear the clip clop of the horse and run out and watch it going past.
oh, yeah! if you looked out the corner window from the one chair, you could see the ssagoula river!

Not sure why, but that extra side window makes the room so much more cheerier, and the room seems larger too.

Even though it is a long walk to the food court, it is close to '
the bridge to 'Ol Man Island, is near to a bayou section quiet pool, and is also near the Magnolia Terrace quiet pool.
That gives us an easy walk to 3 totally differently themed pools.
the only disappointing thing is, they won't refill your mugs at the main pool, like they do at Coronado. I dont' know why they won't fil them with the coke and sprite at the pool bar. probably would take u too much fof the bartender's time. you have to walk through the main pool area and go to the food court to fill the mugs.
I also like the looks of the buildings way in the back of the bayou, they have a cool stone facade instead of all wood.
and there's some swamp lke areas, really themed nicely, that I appreciated more than Nebo

This time we struck gold.

.

We asked for Jamaica It was booked because they had sent us another PIN code, onor Aruba, I like the walk across the bridge.

unless you have to walk through it, you probably never would experience this island, with litltle walkways, hammocks, etc. really cool. It was also a corner room, and the side window faced out to the Aruba quiet pool, I don't think there is a better room in the entire resort!
one afternoon there was this really cool storm. riamed BUCKETS!! but only for about a half hour. and it was still sunny! we had drinks and were leaning ober the railing, watching the rain over the laggon. couldn't see a thing for a while, really eerie. the lagoon disappeared, than apeared again!

AS nice as the room was at CBR, it could't touch what we ended up with at Royal Pacific.

THis was a once in a lifetime fluke, I'm sure.

She had the door closed so I knocked, she let me in with this huge grin on her face.

at which point I said, "well, yeah, we have to pull the couch out at night, but still, isn't it cool? ... then.....
The grin got even bigger as she opened up this door I assumed was a closet,,,,,,,

AH,,, here's the beds, and another bathroom, We didn't ever want to leave the room!

well, one bed, but king size. bigger king then I ever saw. ! but I still want to know where the other bathroom was?:confused3 (sorry, honey)
What i'm leaving out, I'm sure she will fill in.

Unfortunately, this is now a bar that has been raised so high, there is no way it can ever be topped, at least I don't see how it could be.
And this upgrade didn't cost us a penny more.
how true/ the best room ever! and we could smoke in it! it was almost a xhame to leave it to go to the parks and the pools!!
This was one time I truly felt rich, somebody special.
I was stopping people walking down the hall and inviting them in for a drink.
Got a lot of funny looks.
I don'at see how we could ever get better. oh! it was right across the hall from the maids' room. you would think that would be noisy, but it wasn't. and it was never locked, so at night, I could just run across and get more tea bags or shampoo. etc.:rotfl: (I'm a bad girl)

"Don't ever be afraid to ask for an upgrade, or anything else for that matter."

You just never know!

now I have read thread where cast members say the best way to assure you WON'T get an upgrade is to ask for one. but this hasn't been our experience.

we used to find the check in process nerve wracking. never sure if we would get a smoking room, and if we did, the view or location would suffer. (we once turned down a free upgrade at hard rock, 5th floor, pool view, because we wanted a smoking room:headache: and ended up in the basement with a view of bushes)
I'm actually kinda happy that that isn't an issue anymore, and can just "go for the view". and so checkin is kind of exciting!!!! you neverknow what you're gonna get! (you just can't set your expectations too high. kinda hard for us now, though, ya think?)

( oh take it easy, McDisney, this will all be over soon and we'll have a real chapter up in a couple nights)
(yes, yes, I know it's boring, why don't you go in your room and play X-Box until I'm done?)

Nope, no X-box in this house - got just about everything invented by Nintendo though.

We stayed at Riverside our last trip, it took me 3 days to realize we had a parking lot view :rotfl2:. Everything there is so lush that I didn't even see the cars until I was going down the steps on day.

Thanks for sharing the past with us, I like intermissions every now and then. :3dglasses

I know I really don't know you other than reading your TR but I have to tell you I thought of you over our WDW trip that we just got back from on the 14th. We went to the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacle and when they called for volunteers I of course raised my hand and was picked!! Amazingly enough! I thought to myself hahhah Nemo would be proud :rotfl2: But what made me think of you more was I remembered your mishap and I thought to myself... make sure you are careful as you walk around. Apparently, my carefulness didn't matter because I was punched in the face by another volunteer :rotfl: It is def funny now but then... not so much. I did keep thinking of your TR though. We were all crouched down and the little show tour director told us all to get up and cheer. In the process the guy right next to me punched me. I had a fat lip for the rest of the day. The director looked horrified and tried to play it off like my first real stunt. I think they should have given me fast passes or SOMETHING haahhahhahah :rotfl: but I got a drink of water. LAME. JK anyway just had to tell you I was thinking of you on my vaca. :rotfl2:

poor unsuspecting me.. in the red top...

c86cbd7d.jpg

right before the dastardly incident...

that was the big guy that punched me... I am lucky I wasn't flattened I guess. hahah.
446aecb2.jpg

I wish my husband had gotten one after after everyone look horrified... but apparently everyone was too busy being horrified :rotfl2: Oh well. Talk about a memory....

Janet, I am so sorry. I wish there was something I could do to help. And I can imagine how difficult and hectic it must be when you live over a thousand miles apart, you have our heartfelt condolensces, it must be very tough on your father too, I feel so bad.

Aww, thanks!

+++++++++++++++++++++++

Royal Pacific. Jim and Jimmy got to stay there last trip (THe one where I was sick and in the hospital:sad2:) They loved it. The staff couldn't have been any nicer when Jim told them what was going on with me. THey upgraded them to a King suite and gave Jimmy so much stuff it was crazy! It is on out list for the dream trip in 2013. 6 nights/7 days at AKL and then 3 nights/4 days at RPR!:thumbsup2

Hey Nebo,

I am glad for your 39 check-ins. You can be my expert advisor when I'm trying to decide where to stay.:goodvibes I'd like to try Caribbean Beach. I think my kids would like having a beach to play on (if we can spare any time away from the parks, that is.) And, I'm with you and Smidgy. I like a good view, too. When we went to Disneyland, I loved waking up and looking out at California Adventure Park. It was empty and peaceful and the sidewalks were still wet from the park being cleaned every night while we were sleeping. My DH thinks the room/view doesn't matter much if we're in the parks all day. Luckily, I make the reservations.:thumbsup2

P.S. A short summer is a good thing in hockey. And, we miss Big Buff and the others, too.:guilty:

We just got back from a fantastic trip to WDW/Universal/SeaWorld/KSC...(I think I mentioned everything) and I just have to say that seeing the World after reading your TR definitely made the trip more interesting and I was really paying more attention to things. A PP mentioned the Indiana Jones Stunt Show and I must confess that I was paying extra close attention to the audience participants that I probably would have otherwise. :rotfl: I do have to admit that no matter how old you are, or where you live when you come to the world you turn into a kid all over again...(just look at my avatar, can't you see the giddyness I had while posing with Miss Bunny?!).

As for the nostalgia of your last post, I can honestly say if I didn't live clear across the country I probably would be right there with you on visits and such. I give you and Smidgy credit for being able to plan it as you do with the split stays and all. I think it may be something to look into next time we go. This was only our 2nd trip to the World and I'm already looking forward to going back sometime in the future.

I will now return you to your regularly scheduled program and await the next chapter in As Nebo's World Turns...

Woo hoo. all caught up. finally. been gone for a while. trip to WDw and then life intruding on all my fun.

Anyway. OMG so funny as usual. JUst love your trip reports and the comments from smidgy are priceless.

Thanks. KIM

Wow! Nice room at RP!

I didn't mind the show and tell. I like looking at pics of resorts. The CBR pics reminded me of '07 trip with all my family there. Sigh!

I understand. CBR was the first resort we stayed at on our first trip ever, with the kids, it will always have a special place in my heart.

:

Believe it or not, we flew away from all of these perfectly good ports here in FL, all the way to San Juan to get on the ship! This way we could see some islands that are further south but still just take a 7 day cruise. :thumbsup2
That sounds terrific, we would love to take another cruise, especially one to the out islands.

I am truly sorry about your not so pleasant ending to Ohana. I love that place! I love those noodles! I love those pork wonton thingies (whatever they're called)! I didn't try the shrimp. I do not like them Sam I Am.

You know, now that you mentioned it, I don't think we got the wontons this time there, Smidgy can't remember getting them either, and we also loved them the first time we ate there. I wonder if they just forgot to bring them, or the noodles replaced them?

It's good to be back. :goodvibes

It's good to have you back. Now, I want to read a report on your cruise. You can just write out the chapters and send them to me in personal messages.

It is good to find this TR by the famous Nebo.
Only had time to read to page 20 tonite. Gotta get to bed.
Wondered where you and your wife vanished to - glad you are both back.

I remember the "New Yawker", nice to have you back again, and, that should be "infamous" nebo.
I am just your humble servant here, trying to provide some smiles and grins in your otherwise busy, hectic lives.

(ok, why isn't there a smiley with a guy sticking his finger down his throat?)

Shouldn't you have put your suits ON insted of just throwing them in and skinny dipping? I'm pretty sure Disney frowns on that. :confused3

Seriously though, nice comparison shopping of hotel rooms.

Uh huh, thank you very much for catching that typo, and now, all the readers are thanking you very much for putting that image in their heads. :scared1:

Alright, the spacing on the code for this picture was off, so I just had to be nosy and see what I had missed.
And aren't those upgrades great? We once got a room at a place in San Diego that had a sliding door that opened onto their "quiet" pool. Nobody else seemed to know about the pool, so we were the only ones using it. Heaven!
Oh, and I almost forgot. You earned 50 bonus points for working the word "copse" into the report without leading up to it with, "Cheese it, the . . ."

Danny, I didn't even realize that one pic didn't come through, but you got it. And yes, empty pools can be just like heaven, and I love out of the way pools like the Maya dig site pool at Coronado, especially early in the morning. Unlike the other pools early on, no one walks through this pool, no reason to, I love getting there around 8;30, I have it all to myself. Drop off the towels and books, walk around it a bit, even go through the playground, then relax as people slowly start coming in and filling up the loungers waiting for the pyramid and the slide to be turned on. TO me, that is also heaven.

But I don't get,,,,"Cheese it,,," help me there.

now I have read thread where cast members say the best way to assure you WON'T get an upgrade is to ask for one. but this hasn't been our experience.

we used to find the check in process nerve wracking. never sure if we would get a smoking room, and if we did, the view or location would suffer.

Diane, that was a geat job of breaking down the chapter and inserting all the things I had wrong.
Are you sure there wasn't two bathrooms?
Or did I just get a little bit too acquainted with that potted fig tree?

Nope, no X-box in this house - got just about everything invented by Nintendo though.

We stayed at Riverside our last trip, it took me 3 days to realize we had a parking lot view :rotfl2:. Everything there is so lush that I didn't even see the cars until I was going down the steps on day.

Thanks for sharing the past with us, I like intermissions every now and then. :3dglasses

It's incredible how lush it all is there, isn't it? I don't think either one of us can say which is our favorite resort anymore, we truly love them all, and for different reasons. It seems Coronado gets a bad name a lot of times, but if we could, that is where we would be going back to this next trip, I almost just talked myself into it writing about the pool.

:rotfl2:

poor unsuspecting me.. in the red top...

right before the dastardly incident...

that was the big guy that punched me... I am lucky I wasn't flattened I guess. hahah.

I wish my husband had gotten one after after everyone look horrified... but apparently everyone was too busy being horrified :rotfl2: Oh well. Talk about a memory....

Actually Kriss,. you know us plenty from reading the trip reports, not too much left to hide, or tell.
But Holy Cow, that guy looked like he could knock out Godzilla, and you only got a fat lip?
Kid, if I'm in trouble, I want you there with me!
I do apprecitate your thinking of me, but you do understand what I mean now about how you have to run up and down the stairs?

Aww, thanks!

+++++++++++++++++++++++

Janet, I remember that too, when you were so sick you couldn't make the trip and ended up in the hospital. Boy, I hope the next couple of years are a lot better, you're owed it to say the least.
One thing, we ALWAYS do the universay part first, as cool as Uni is, it is still lacking the magic, no pixie dust if you will, and there are only two parks there, we both think it's always best to save Disney for after Uni.

:

Neighbor, CBR is a great choice, all kids love it, even older kids like myself. The thing there is that there are many great courtyard rooms, you don't have to be facing the water for a great room view so you don't have to pay extra. Just when you check in, the teller will circle an area where your room is, especially if it isn't ready yet, then it's your job to see if it might be facing a parking lot.
If you don't want it, say so then.

We just got back from a fantastic trip to WDW/Universal/SeaWorld/KSC...(I think I mentioned everything)
Ok, hold it right there. Is KSC Kentucky Steamed Chicken? And do I need to put that on my list?

and I just have to say that seeing the World after reading your TR definitely made the trip more interesting and I was really paying more attention to things. A PP mentioned the Indiana Jones Stunt Show and I must confess that I was paying extra close attention to the audience participants that I probably would have otherwise. :rotfl: I do have to admit that no matter how old you are, or where you live when you come to the world you turn into a kid all over again...(just look at my avatar, can't you see the giddyness I had while posing with Miss Bunny?!).

that's cool. Giddy is cool. Not caring what anybody thinks is cool. Not caring what you look like is cool.
Um, wait, did I just say that out loud?
No, actually, your avatar is way too small to see, I'm just teasing you, you know that, right? Right?
Ok, I'll post a dumb pic of me not caring what anybody thinks, ok?

As for the nostalgia of your last post, I can honestly say if I didn't live clear across the country I probably would be right there with you on visits and such. I give you and Smidgy credit for being able to plan it as you do with the split stays and all. I think it may be something to look into next time we go. This was only our 2nd trip to the World and I'm already looking forward to going back sometime in the future.

I will now return you to your regularly scheduled program and await the next chapter in As Nebo's World Turns...

I like that, that's very good. But after the last chapter it should be As Nebo's Stomach Turns.

I do want to warn you though.
Split stays come with drawbacks.
Your transfer days are usually best being non park days, but worst of all, you can get the feeling that you are never, ever, really settling in for your vacation,. You keep waiting for the next leg of the trip, and by the time you know it, you are checking out for good. The feeling is hard to explain.

Woo hoo. all caught up. finally. been gone for a while. trip to WDw and then life intruding on all my fun.

Anyway. OMG so funny as usual. JUst love your trip reports and the comments from smidgy are priceless.

Oh yes, just priceless. It finally ocurred to me that I am the one writing this report, I don' t have to play by the book and repeat her verbatim. Right? I can write my own dialogue for her, right? Right?

Yeah, if I have a death wish.

Thanks. KIM

You beez welcome, nice to hear from you again.

Really enjoyed reading the trip report. Thank you so much for sharing.

It's good to have you back. Now, I want to read a report on your cruise. You can just write out the chapters and send them to me in personal messages.

Well I can't promise a report but pics are being posted on facebook... I can pm you my real live name if you are even the slightest bit interested.

And we got the noodles and the wontons when we were there last December. Sounds like you were robbed, my friends!
