From Oil Wells to Jingle Bells-Bells,pg.66, See you in September!

Your Ozzy lights pics turned out great! :thumbsup2

And you think you have a crappy camera!

And look at you.... posting videos! Our little Nebo is all grown up now! :rotfl:

The Osbourne Lights are amazing!!! :worship: I have never taken the family, did not think it was that big of a deal, but I think we will be making an early December weekend trip so that we can see them!!!

if you have never seen the Osbourne spectacle of Dancing lights.. or never done the Candlelight Processional.. I would do it, just once. oh, and the Voices of Liberty!.
great..not to be missed!

I felt so bad about stopping you two that night, it was so cold, but I had to do it. I spotted two DIS celebrities and had to say hello. I spotted Smidgy first, I'm not used to seeing Nebo in a hat let alone a coat :lmao:. Thank you so much for talking to us, you two were so nice :goodvibes.

Isn't life so strange?? we felt like WE were taking up YOUR time!! ... ya know.. there were quite a few dissers staying at POP that same time. .. I told nebo (now he will be mad at me), maybe we should just PM a bunch of them with my cell #.. I have one of those cell phones. pay as you go... we hardly ever use). but we thought..
heck... we will all be at POP we will all see each other at the pool one time or another!!!

who would've thought?

After looking at my watch, we decided on the spur of the moment to try and make the 7 o'clock final for the American Idol Experience, but with people trying to get out of the cold and only ten minutes left we didn't have very high expectations of getting in.

But we did, barely.

Well, there ya go. That's your problem. If you're going to go walking around barely, of course you're going to be cold. Throw some clothes on and you'd be surprised at how much warmer you'll feel. :rolleyes1

However, once again we are doing the "Quick, guzzle the fuzzy cup" routine, they weren't allowed inside.

Okay, doing the "Quick, guzzle the fuzzy cup routine" will help to warm you up, but really, try clothes.

As we stood at the top, just inside, a cast member asked us if we'd mind sitting in the handicapped seats down in front, there was still 2 open.
Smidgy looked at the CM and said, "I take it you know my husband?"

:lmao: Way to go Smidgy!

The final has all the winners from the five shows during the day, the winner tonight gets a fastpass to an actual audition for the show.

I'd rather get a much more elusive fastpass to TSM!

What was even stranger, the first girl that Smidgy ended up voting for sang the Denise Williams song, "Let's hear it for the Boy" from Footloose.

The last girl that I voted for sang the Irene Cara song, " I need a Hero" from Footloose.

And the last time we did this show, a guy did the Kenny Loggins song, "Footloose" from,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
oh heck, what's the name of that movie again?

Flashdance? No! Fame? I give up. (Well, you did mention Irene Cara)

My girl won.

Way to go Smidgy!!! :cool1:

Then we went over and used our fastpasses for TSM.

Hey! They went with my idea for top prize! Sweet!

At this point I cracked and felt the need to do something bigger, so we walked down to the TOT, sign said only a fifteen minute wait time and I didn't think it would be something my back would have a problem with.
With Smidgy's help walking my through the darkness I ended up right in the front, there was really no wait at all.

The doors opened up and I groped my way inside as Smidgy took the old Snagglepus way out...
"Exit stage left".

My DD (8 at the time) took the "Snagglepus" way out too. Except she was scared that the regular elevator she was taking would behave like the ride! :lmao:

Now the park is officially closed to day guests so we went back over to the Osbourne Lights.
Good call, wasn't crowded in there at all now.

Ok, going to throw a barage of pictures at you now, enjoy;

Thanks for all the pics! The video was cool too. :goodvibes

Ok, this is the edit. Yeah it worked if you click on the image, but it's not really worth it, and the music for some reason now sounds kind of demonic, like they are playing a Black Sabbath song backwards.

Well they are the Osbourne lights, so that only makes sense.

Oh wait, you didn't have to play Black Sabbath backwards to sound demonic.

Actually if you play Black Sabbath backwards, it sounds like church music.

If you are waiting for me to make a joke about how disappointed I was because I never did hear Iron Man or Children of the Grave I am going to let you down, you know I don't do obvious childish humor like that.

Oh, no. Wouldn't dream of it. Of course you don't do that kind of humor. Nope. Un-unh. :rolleyes1

It was really getting chilly now

Clothing, trust me.

They could have called it the ABC Cemetary.

After checking the menu, I see they have also done the same thing to the burgers here that they did at Pop Century, tacked on an extra 70 cents or so and changed the name to Angus Cheeseburgers.

Who is this Angus fellow and what in the hell is he doing to these cows?
No Ponzi, we don't want pictures, leave it alone.

Awww... please? Just this once? ... shoot. :guilty:

Being on the dining plan, I went all out, they had an even more expensive burger with bacon and topped with 3 shrimp, why shrimp I have no idea but we both got it.

Got it. ABC Cemetary. Serves dead cow with dead pig and dead seafood. Check. Gross... but check.

Once again, our timing was terrible, they were on the way to get something from the food court, we were on our way back to the room, it was late by now, and it was freezing out.

Oh, nevermind.

Tomorrow, it's back to the Magic Kingdom, can't wait I think to myself, wonder if they're calling for snow!

And I'm sure we can't wait for the update! Thanks Nebo! :goodvibes

Not just photos but a VIDEO too!? Good job, Steve!!! I'm just so proud. :sad1: (those are happy tears).

The pictures turned out pretty good. So did the video. You would never think you only had, what did say you had, only a 5 megapixel camera? :lmao: DW and I hope to WDW next year to see all the (politically correct answer) HOLIDAY decorations. We love seeing everyone's pictures. So we figured we had to go and take some for ourselves, just to see what all the hoopla is about.

You mean to tell me they don't play any Black Sabbath or Ozzy for the Osbourne lights? Not even any of Kelly's music? No commenting from Sharon? What about Jack? Anything from him? :confused3 What kind of show is this? Now you have me wondering if I should go see it or not. :scratchin And how did it get its name if has nothing to do with the Osborne's? They should change the name then. :rotfl:

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thought ToT has gotten shorter. I thought the intro used to be longer to. Smidgy don't ride ToT? Or since you guzzled down the fuzzy cups, she didn't want to be sick  afterwards?

Great update.

Thumperman~ the CHRISTMAS (yep, I did!) lights are beautiful! You and the Mrs. need to go see them at least once! The castle at Christmas.... oh my heavens! It's breathtaking! Pictures do not do it justice.

This is why they are called the Osborne lights ~

The Streets of America at Disney's Hollywood Studios backlot sparkle brightly as millions of twinkling lights dancing to music illuminate the area, during the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights presented by SYLVANIA. Amid "Florida snow" flurries, the building facades, trees and streets of the Disney-MGM Studios backlot dazzle with three-dimensional and motion-based displays -- some originally created at the Osborne home in Arkansas by businessman Jennings Osborne as a holiday display for the delight of his daughter.

After the Arkansas home exhibit grew larger and brighter over the years, the million-light display was transported to Disney-MGM Studios in 1995, where the spectacle continues to grow larger and brighter each year. Some of Osborne's original creations still sparkling brightly at the park today include dozens of flying angels and Santa Claus light designs.

Hey, this is my Cliff Claven moment! :rotfl2:

When DH told me there was a video on Nebo's latest update I had to rush to see for myself...and sure 'nuff, there it is, and it works, and its awesome! You may be blind, and maybe a little agitated from not smoking, but you'd never be able to tell...you sure done good! :thumbsup2

On a side note, Glad to hear that at least the doc thinks your eye is improving...little do those doctors know that it's not music to our ears until we can see (pun intended) the improvement for ourselves.

I will continue to think happy thoughts for you :cutie::hug:

Any relation to the famous Osbornes?

Thanks for the 411. Everything you mentioned is why we're hoping to make it back next year. We would like to go the weekend after Thanksgiving (not the weekend of Thanksgiving). Hopefully it won't be as crowded then. At least from what I've read, its usually one of the best times to go before most schools let our for winter break. We were there last year in October. We could already see where they had put up the Osborne lights. We've seen many pictures and videos. We always talk about going to see these and the castle. DW's brother and his GF want to go. They always hear about how much fun we have. So we thought this would be the perfect time to go.

I now take you back to your originally scheduled Nebo & Smidgy Report.

Related to Ozzy? I don't think so! :rotfl2:

Anyway, we've been the week after Turkey Day (arriving the day after) and Friday and Sat. were slammin busy but Sunday everyone else left and we had walk on rides the rest of the week! :thumbsup2

We've also been the weekend after Thanksgiving weekend (first weekend in Dec.) and that was busy! They usually do the parade taping that weekend and a lot of times that is Pop Warner weekend too.

:scared1: Don't get Nebo started on PW!

I think the video of the lights turned out well. You got great photos too!

We haven't been to see the Osbourne lights in years since back when the children were in elementary school and we took them out of school for a week. I just can't bring myself to go during Christmas week and crowds. :scared1:

So great that you ran into Tracy and Bill! :woohoo:

Thnks Rozz, I guess they all came out better than I thought.

Thank you so much for the video of the lights. Makes me want to go back in Nov. again. Our school district is shut down the whole week of Thanksgiving and we have gone twice and both times saw the ozzy lights. They are amazing. Thanks again!

QB, pictures still don't do it justice by any means though, do they?

Thanks for the pics and video of the Lights. I have never been there for that, but my husband and children have 'cause they can take time for the
January Marathon. We have a trip planned for the end of September into October and have been toying with the idea of taking Sunday-Thursday
(lower points) at the end of August, but Thanksgiving week could be good instead. This year I have off the Wednesday before Thanksgiving
and of course the day after. Must look into the amount of points needed.

Hi Dvc, you do know that since they changed the point structure it's not nearly as much points for weekends anymore, right? Usually only 2 or 3 more points per night. Shoot, last year it was close to twice as many for weekends. Not that we have any knowledge about any of this not being members ourselves.:rolleyes1

You got my favorite part of the dancing lights. The song is from Phineas and Ferb. It really added something to the lights, with the P&F songs playing. Thanks for posting the link to the video. You done good with your pics.

Aw, shucks.

Ponzi, stop. These are not images you want to place in decent peoples heads, especially at dinner time.

You know, that last line was also part of the edit, after the steak pic and what you did to poor Peppy Le Car I got nervous of what could be found on line concerning cows and entrepreneutering farmers.

And I'm sure we can't wait for the update! Thanks Nebo! :goodvibes

You and Monica taught me everything I know. And you know what? Posting the video was...................
Easy peasy, lemon squeezy

Hey, c'mon.
It's a 7 muga pixie Kodak Easy Share

Good post T-Man, yeah, even though there's more ups and downs in the ride, it just seemed like it used to take longer undtil you got to the drops. And no, Smidgy doesn't do Tot or EE or RRC.

Thanks, Ladythump, boy, I wish I had tried the video thing a lot earlier, if I had known how easy it was to take and post here,,,,,,,wow, uh oh,, the possibilities could be endless,,,, and scary! Like an actual video of when I almost killed myself volunteering for the Indy Stunt Show. Or picture this,,,,,,videos of singing karaoke at the Swan resort. Tell me that doesn't bring a chill up your spine?

Mrs. Thumper, would you please go and smack your husband upside the head? This whole report is taking place in the exact time frame he is wondering about, it's pretty dead up until Pop Warner comes in, usually at the end of the first week in December.

Smidgy is a smart woman...I tell myself constantly what a dumb wife I am to be getting on these rides with DH...I could easily exit stage left, however, I'm dumb...I would feel like Riglee in regards to never letting myself live it down if I didn't go on it. :sad2: plus ToT is one of my favs. RRC scares the bejeezus out of me till this day and i'm slowly getting better on EE. The problem lies with afterwards...i'm ecstatic that I went on the ride...just not overjoyed with the feeling of my heart being in my throat for the next couple of hours

You've got me beat already, I haven't even tried to post a pic on here, and here you are posting videos. I would have LOVED to see a video of the Indy Stunt Show experience. Although the pictures that run through my head every time I think about that seem to do justice for now.

As for the karaoke thing...DH and I do karaoke at the club we are members at...We've heard the worse of the worse and we've heard some of the best...at least for NM :rotfl: trust me, if you vaguely know the song, have the ability to follow the words on the screen, even if it is out of tune, then you've got some people we know beat!

Slap DH upside the head...Check! :thumbsup2

That kid is so frustrating!!!!!:headache: He has so much talent but can't get his off field issues in check.

I agree, Kyle, but I think it's all a moot issue anyway, just hand the division to the Twins again, especially with Morneau coming back healthy.

Slap DH upside the head...Check! :thumbsup2

So,,,,, how did the smacking go?
We actually used to do karaoke a lot, I did a good job of making a fool out of myself once at Kimonos at the Swan doing it, and not by singing badly, but by talking like an idiot. But the places I liked to do it at don't anymore, so it's been quite a while now.

Ok, I may have another chapter up later tonight, check back.
