And if you check FB, you'll see that you are picking me up on your way to WDW for the next trip. :rotfl2:

]Yep, once more Ol Rod Serling is talking, "You have just stepped into, The Twilight Zone."

That's too bad we'll just miss each other, go on, change it back! Pop Warner doesn't stay at Pop anyway. They don't like to share their title.

Hummm, see, I suffer from the same affliction as you do, which is an extreme need to tinker with our vacation plans... I can't seem to leave them alone, I must make changes until the last minute... So since our flights aren't booked yet (yes, we are going in the aluminum tube of death), I had already been thinking of maybe adding a day or 2 at the beginning... But like I said, Pop Warner was scaring me. However, if you say it doesn't make a difference because they don't stay at Pop, maybe, just maybe I will add a couple of days... How does the Pop Warner group affect the crowds in the park? Is there a big difference or not really? We also wanted to go to Discovery Cove this time around so maybe adding a couple of days is not a bad idea..... :rolleyes1

Nebo and Smidgy - You are so lucky to have relaxing days at Disney World. I try to cram everything into our trips so we don't miss anything. I think we need to go more often so I don't feel bad leaving anything out.:goodvibes

Hey neighbor, it wasn't easy ofr us at first either. In order to not feel like you are missing something, you have to schedule the pool time in, that way, POOL TIME and relaxing become things your not missing too.
Great, now I sound like I'm talking in riddles.:lmao:

Maybe the new menus at the restaurants will surprise you with something good. I'm jealous because I really wanted to go this December and see the Christmas decorations. Although, our June trip will be a blast celebrating my son's 11th birthday!:jumping1:

A June trip sounds great too, let me know if you need your own personal guide.

Your request is my command (or something like that! :rotfl:)

Your WISH is my command. Geesh, women!
But oh, that is such a good picture. And you timed it just right with a little bit of the sunset in the background.
Bravo! That is the best smoking area, ever!

No problem Tracy, we'll meet you at Ridgeland and 290, but I'll have to talk the pilot into landing for a bit on the expressway. :rotfl2: Shouldn't be a problem.

First, we spent a week with the Pop Warner crowd at music 3 years ago, and while I hated it because they were with us Music, I never once even noticed them in any of the parks. I don't think they have much time for the parks with football being the center of their world when they are down there.

But secondly, I'm not sure I'd want to go to Discovery Cove in December, I believe that water isn't heated like the resort pools and most days are lucky to exceed 75.
We each have 8 water park tickets left, but that water is only heated to 80 degrees, and 80 is not that much fun on the slides or the lazy river, especially when you are getting sprayd on. But sometimes it's nice to not have to go anywhere the first two days, maybe check out the decorations at Downtown Disney and use yourd Planet Hollywood voucher. That way you're rested from the flight or drive down and it gives you a chance to get excited about going to the parks.

We have 4 days before we can get our tickets, pool time, DTD, mini golf and resort hopping the check out decos.

Oh, new chapter tomorrow, you don't want to miss it.
Smidgy
Gets
Busted!

Bad Smidgy, bad.

A June trip sounds great too, let me know if you need your own personal guide.

Well, my son's invited both sets of grandparents, a couple aunts, a few cousins and a great aunt to his "birthday party." I'm sure he wouldn't mind a Nebo and Smidgy tagging along, too.:)

In order to not feel like you are missing something, you have to schedule the pool time in, that way, POOL TIME and relaxing become things your not missing too.
Great, now I sound like I'm talking in riddles.

I think I'm going to print this out and tape it to my schedule so I don't forget to relax on vacation.

Who said anything about bringing Smidgy?

And don't forget to schedule in all the bathroom breaks, and make sure to pass them out to everybody in your group, that way they can pace themselves and you will all be on a "regular" schedule.:happytv:

This is the first trip that we actually scheduled in pool time too and it was probably some of the best time I had there. I actually got to read and the kids ran off some energy. Not to mention it was right next to the unlimited refill of Diet Coke... Always a HUGE plus! :cool1:

Kristen, at home I drink about 4 cans of pop a month.
But when I"m sitting at a pool near a refill station, I can't get enough of the coke, I think they put something extra in there, it's crack coke.

Remember when I said that sometimes Smidgy scared me?

Well, it seems she is trying to outdo herself lately.

Her butter not only slips off pancakes, it slides off waffles somehow too!

We have phone, internet and cable with Comcast.
When our phone rings, a message on the bottom of the tv pops up with the incoming number.

Diane came home and started watching her soaps, I was on the couch reading the paper.
She got up, went and got the phone, then said,"That's funny, it said there's an incoming call but the phone didn't ring, nor did the answering machine kick in."

"Uhn."

She went back and started her soaps again, the message was still there. A couple of minutes later she busted out in laugh, "Oh, it's on the tape, this was from 5 hours ago."
"Guess you'll have to go back in time to answer the phone then."

I had been there when the phone rang, I missed it the first time but my buddy called back a couple minutes later and I took it that time.

"By the way," I told her, "I have a feeling it's going to give you the message again in about two minutes."

Sure enough, there it was.

"Damn, I'm good."

Hard to believe that someone so smart can be so,,,,:sad2::cloud9::upsidedow

News Headline:

25 million dog owners want to know;

"Who's a good dog?"

______________________________________________

Having ridden BTMR and Splash, and gotten fastpasses for both, we went and did something I have no idea why.

The Flying Carpets of Aladin.
This is something that is much, much better after a couple of vikes; then it's cute, funny and cool.
Now I just feel like a big dork on it.

After that we stood there a minute, and I have to share
something I'd rather not.
You see, that was when we had a huge argument, and what's worse, passerbys saw it too.

Since we were right in the area, I thought it would make sense to kill a few minutes until it was time, and then get a fastpass for Jungle Cruise for tonight.

The argument went like this:

me: Why don't we kill a few minutes and then get fastpasses for Jungle Cruise for tonight?

she: The sign says only a 15 minute wait now, I think we should ride it now instead.

me: Ok.

Yes, I hate it when we have these blowups at Disney, but it happens.

And it turned out to be TWENTY minutes.

We did agree though to go over to Sleepy Hollow and get a funnel cake. Again, it was time for a weird cast member to show up.
We ordered one cake and one pop to split, Smidgy handed over a ten but all she got back was change.

"Excuse me, where's the rest of it?" she asked.

"Oh it's all there, those coins are dollar pieces." the lady told her.

We looked, sure enough there was some strange coins in her hand.
Diane tried to hand them back and asked for singles instead, but the lady wouldn't take them.

"I'm sorry, that's all we have."

HUH?

Diane told her she just saw the woman in front of us hand over a bunch of singles but the cast member denied it.
This was ridiculous, I'm guessing that she was instructed to push the dollar coins instead, but we still hated that she just out and out lied to us.

One thing we have learned though;
Never argue with someone who is preparing your food, just good common sense so she left it alone.

Believe me, one funnel cake and one pop was plenty for the two of us, and Diane is getting pleasantly surprised at how I'm much better at wanting to share stuff nowadays.

But I still got my own straw; the other one had her lip prints on it.

The highlight here is really watching the birds divebomb the unsuspecting snackers.
I gave a bit of cake to a bird, I'm guessing it was a blackbird, and then he trusted me.
I handed him a napkin, he grabbed it and flew away.

It looked like he was trying to blow his nose as he flew away with it.
Yes, the little things in life amuse me sometimes.

A Buzz Lightyear fastpass followed the funnel cake, then we did Laugh Floor again but not much was different.
At least I wasn't picked to participate.
(see Flying Carpets above)

But it seems that 2 out of 3 times we do this, some kid will text in their own joke that Buddy Foyle will tell: "How do you make a handkerchief dance?"

Yeah, that one's a little kids favorite, all right.
Gee, I hope it's little kids sending that in.

Right next door is Stitch's Escape.

The sign says a 5 minute wait.
5 minutes, that's it, late morning on an EMH day.
In July!

Yes, we passed. I have seen threads on the Dis where people say they really like this attraction, they think it's great.

To call this a great Disney attraction is like calling Elvis on black velvet or Dogs Playing Poker great art.
Maybe it's just me, I hate the harness trapping you and the last time we did it I hurt my foot on the stairs cuz I couldn't get out of there quick enough, but I think most people agree with me.
Yes, I thought ALien Encounter was better.

But that's like saying a root canal is better than a prostrate exam.

We went back to the resort.

_______________________________________________
On our way to our room it looked like DJ Carlos was setting up again but neither of us wanted to find out if bikini lady was going to guest star again so we ended up at the piano pool.

Like I said, we didn't take any pictures of the resort this time, but here's a couple from a previous trip so you can see what the pool's like. And no, it wasn't crowded but it wasn't as empty as the pics show.

music043.jpg

music044.jpg

It's nothing special, but it's close to our room, and depending on which way your facing, all around you you can see Jazz Inn, Rock Inn, Broadway and a bit of Country Fair.

An eclectic view if you will.

Once again, the weather was great, no rain, no nuttin, just sun, sun, sun.
July is the rainiest month of the year in Florida, we have been in Florida for 16 straight days now, and all we've encountered so far is a shower one afternoon.
Amazing. I guess it's possible it rained sometimes during the night and we didn't know about it, but I don't think so.

As we sat by the pool, we talked about what we want to do tonight, and it's mostly catch some of the dark rides that I can't see during the day. We have already seen the Main Street Parade and the fireworks so they aren't on our list. And yes, I liked Wishes better. And Spectro.

But what often happens on the last day of a trip, is you start talking about the next trip. We had already booked the December trip, but we doubted we'd keep it.

But if we did...........

Diane mentioned that she'd really like to see the Christmas Wishes, only problem is to see it right, you have to buy the Very Merry Christmas Party expensive tickets to see it in the park.

I thought about this:
no, we're not going to buy those tickets just for the fireworks, and we have tried once before 3 years ago to see how long we can stay in the park before they kick every day person out and the nightime party guests arrive.

We didn't last that long.

They start blocking off parade routes, and eventually you'[ll be channeled into Adventure Land and into Main Street. If you try to hang around, you will be asked to show credentials, and my library card wasn't good enough, nor was Smidgy's Aquarium Lodge Minnow Swallower's Club card.

Then I told Smidgy I knew just how to get in:
"Really, it wont cost us tickets, we won't need special passes, or anything!" "We'll just come right in the front gate."

"Ok Sherlock, how do we get in?"

"Simple my dear Watson, I'm gonna build a Trojan Mickey!"

Back in the room, we made the preparations to head on back.
After checking our little airplane bottles stash, I gave Smidgy a Meier's Rum and a Malibu Rum. I took two Jim Beam bottles.

There was only one bottle left, another bottle of some kind of rum species and I slid that one into my pocket as well when she wasn't looking.

Save it for what?

We made Sunny D with Vodka drinks and Smidgy put her two bottles in her shorts pocket, mine are in my pocket and we are on our way.

As usual, I walk right through the security, drinking my vodka and Sunny D with 3 more little bottles in my pocket but Diane has to have her fanny inspected.

Fanny PACK inspected.
Whoops

Now, nine out of ten times, I always just stand there and wait till she gets through, but since she always walks faster than me anyway, I decided to just get through the turnstyle and grab the EMH guides if they are out.

Naturally, I have a problem at the gate, they think I"m using someone else's finger but they let me in anyway.
This is nothing new, it happens all the time with me, at all the parks.

I go and look for the EMH hours guide, but they're not out yet, and I go back to meet Smidgy at the gate.

No Smidgy at the gate.
No Smidgy outside the gate.
No Smidgy anywhere in sight.

I look all around me, I look back to the bag check, but it's too far away.

It wasn't that crowded in line there, she should be through it by now. I check all the turnstyles, nothing.

It appears something has happened to her, what, I have no idea.
But it looks like I won't have to share a funnel cake again.

I thought of going back out, but you can't just go out the way you came in, the exit is "way over there". If I do that, I'll probably miss her for sure.

Finally, she walks up to a turnstyle and gets in.

Something different about her, hmmm, OH, her face is all red!

The problem was the pockets of the shorts she was wearing were really baggy.

"How baggy were they?"

These were so baggy she forgot she had a noodle from the pool still in them.

But really, these were so baggy that you could just SEE right down into them.

Now, I wasn't there, but her story went something like this:

"I got through almost, he checked the fanny pack, and as he handed it back to me he glanced at my right pocket.

"Excuse me miss, what's that in your pocket?"

"Pocket?"

"Yes, pocket."

"Oh, my pocket."

"Yes, your right pocket."

"Nothing."

"Yes there is, it looks like a small bottle in there."

"Oh, so there is."

"Can I have that please?"

"Ok", and she reached in and grabbed the Meier's Rum bottle and started to pull it out.

Then it got really strange.

He told her, "No,, not that one, the white one."
So she handed the Malibut Rum bottle to him.

"Ok", he said, "You can go on."

This is a case of a great Disney cast member. He had to do his job, but didn't want to ruin somebody's good time totally.
He could have, should have taken them both but he left her one.

Or maybe he just had a thing for Malibur Rum!:lmao:

Diane knew she was given a break too, when she went on through, she leaned back to him and asked if she could have it back. :rotfl:

"Not!"

but he said it with a smile on his face she told me.

yeah, I had to "push the envelope"... you'd think I would be grateful I ddin't get kicked out! but. nooo. I thought I would have a chance of getting my bottle back?:confused3

(cause I KNEW Nebo wouldn't share!)

so.. the Cm didn't want the Meyer's rum? he only liked Malibu?

PS I think (no, I KNOW) Nebo knew the phone call was from earlier in the day. he just had fun watching me....
"hey! a phone call.. but the phone isn't ringing!" "nope, dial tone again! what's up with that?"

Nebo: (silently) tee hee.

Smidgy: "there it is again! another phone call!.. no one there!"

Nebo: "snortful laughter"

sometimes I think he only remarried me so I could be fodder for his amusement!

Kristen, at home I drink about 4 cans of pop a month.
But when I"m sitting at a pool near a refill station, I can't get enough of the coke, I think they put something extra in there, it's crack coke.

YOU ARE SO RIGHT!!! DIET CRACK COKE! Ok I am lying it doesn't matter if it had crack because I am already addicted and I haven't checked in with my sponsor. This was my morning routine...
e3868bd1.jpg

and maybe I would let the kids have one... later... GOD bless thirstbusters...

Yes, I hate it when we have these blowups at Disney, but it happens.

And it turned out to be TWENTY minutes.

Oh the humanity!:cool2:

But it seems that 2 out of 3 times we do this, some kid will text in their own joke that Buddy Foyle will tell: "How do you make a handkerchief dance?"

Yeah, that one's a little kids favorite, all right.
Gee, I hope it's little kids sending that in.

Jimmys got picked once...
What did the Ocean say to the beach?
Nothing...it just waved.

That's one you can share with your grandkids;):lmao:

Maybe it's just me, I hate the harness trapping you and the last time we did it I hurt my foot on the stairs cuz I couldn't get out of there quick enough, but I think most people agree with me.
Yes, I thought ALien Encounter was better.

I thought they both STUNK!

But that's like saying a root canal is better than a prostrate exam.

Good analogy:rotfl:

Diane mentioned that she'd really like to see the Christmas Wishes, only problem is to see it right, you have to buy the Very Merry Christmas Party expensive tickets to see it in the park.

Plan dinner at the Poly and then watch from the beach!

Poor Smidgy...hope you gae her the "extra" one you pu t in yur pocket

Hey there! Remember me?! :)

I've been reading/enjoying/snort-laughing for the last coupla days and just wanted to chime in and say Hi! I'm spending the week at my dad's house as he is recovering from bypass surgery. It's like Groundhog Day here too only it's the Conway Twitty/Tammy Wynette version. ;)

He's a single guy so I've been cleaning house (mostly the bathroom!) for the last few days and have now settled in to catch up on my reading.

Loved the Sissyfuss and lizard Brokeback Mt episodes! BTW I also hit 2:22 or more often 99 on the microwave. Because nuked leftovers are my favorite meal. No kidding. And I can't believe you fell for the "new improved" Disney pizza schpiel. Suckah!

I'm only on page 14 of 40ish so I've got a ways to go. Just wanted to say that 24/7 I think you're good people, Nebo! Have a good one!

:flower3:

Without a doubt, there is no ride or attraction in all of Disney
that we have ridden as much as Big Thunder.
For a guy that has never turned away from any roller
coaster, even I have to admit it's still fun.
And she just loves it, it's in her fun range without being
too scary.

I'm with Smidgy on this one. I love this ride and it's the only 'coaster' that my family can easily get me to ride. However, we went to Disneyland 2 years ago and their version made me sick. It wasn't as smooth as the WDW one. We rode probably 5 times and I just couldn't get rid of the headache. I was so sad. I am such a ride chicken and I hate that! I wish there was a vike type pill I could take (I'd do Valium if only it was sold over the counter :rotfl:) but I just can't get myself to bite the bullet and go on. Even my 73 yo old mother will ride any coaster put in front of her. I am an embarrassement to my family :sad1::scared:

Sorry you were busted, Smidgy--the last trip I took with my sister, she got me hooked on Malibu and Coke. Man, can she put those away! But we were travelling with my parents and that's how addicition starts!!

great update!

Hi, this is just a reminder, I know there's a few of you readers out there that will be at Pop when we are there, Nov.28 thru Dec.9 and we'd love to meet you sometimes there. I know we also want to go over to the Poly one night when the Christmas Party is going on to watch the Christmas Wishes fireworks that we've never seen.
We did a Dis meet once before over there and it turned out really well. (blame it on the Lapu Lapus.)
If you'd like to hook up, let me know, if anything we can exchange cell numbers. Over and out.

Still reading here....we will be staying at the Poly from 11/25 to 12/5. Are you and Smidgy driving again with this great Chicago weather??? I don't know how you do it!!!!

We would be up for a meet, if DH doesn't make other plans. He likes no iteneraries, ADRs, etc...We will be staying at the Poly so more then likely we can and I would love to see the fireworks from the beach. We stayed there last year and never saw them - to exhausted from being up to early. However, based on some of the few ADRs we have only 11/28 or 12/3 would work for us. Let us know....

By the way I don't know if you and Smidgy are big Blackhawk fans, but the Stanley Cup was at the hospital I work at last week and I got to personally escort it throughout because of my job. I hugged it a few times, freaked the security guy, but didn't kiss it since I had a sinus infection at the time. Now I get to rub it into my southside brother-in-law; now that is priceless!

if anything we can exchange cell numbers.
Exchanging cell phone numbers. Cable internet.

What next? Windows 7? Posting from an iPhone?

They grow up so fast.

I'm sorry, I didn't have time right now but I had to jump on this one.

I said cell. I'm in cell block 5, #3341.

But I am running Windows 7.:rotfl2:

Great to see you Melinda,

Just had to pop on... stuck between us... lol

That does not happen very often.... (thank God) =0)

Okay, I normally lurk on your TR's (mainly because I have this impulse to pull a Wayne and Garth "I'm not worthy!!!" moment) But I had to come out of hiding because my husband and I will be at Pop Nov. 28th to Dec. 7th!! Celebrating my 30th birthday on Dec. 1st!! :scared1:

I also should forewarn you that my husband blames you totally for my DIS addiction since it's your TR's that got me hooked... He didn't see me for a week while I was reading all of them...
