From May in the Med to August in Panama (Eastbound PC Lite)

Tracy,

Does that mean that your luggage has to get off too? pirate: I hope for Bill's sake that they move the luggage from the first stateroom to the suite.

I got the email about the increase from our DU rep the other day. That increase adds $400 to our trip.

HI Jean!

Ellen

Nope, luggage can stay on. It can stay in your room if you stay in the same cabin. If not you have to talk to Guest Services and arrange to have your luggage moved to the new room.

I wonder how many will cancel as a result of the price change.

Tracy

No luck in any cancelations due to the increase in taxes. Still checking at least once a week or more. Keeping my hopes up until May 2008 to be able to sneak on.

Hope everyone is doing well. Work has been really busy. Between people taking time off for vacations and someone quiting it has made the month of July fly by. On a sad note I had to put my female cat (8 years old) to sleep on Thursday. She got a blood clot and then went into cardiac arrest. :(

I'm sorry to hear this about your cat. :grouphug:

Hi Everyone,

Just checking in.

Johanna,

I read on the the general cruise thread that someone had given up her ressie. Keep calling and we'll keep our fingers crossed. Sorry about the hear about the cat. :sad1:

Tracey,

Do you book ressies at the parks or just cruiseline?

Ellen

Hi Ellen,

I do both WDW and DCL.

As for the cancellations, it's not that simple. I don't get it but I tried to get back one of the reservations I was canceling but couldn't.

Tracy

You may not be able to retrieve the cancelled reservation because so many people are still on "guaranty" status. It seems to me that they may be technically overbooked. I know there will be some people who pull out close to the 90-day mark, but could it be that DCL is scared that it won't be enough to accommodate all the GTYs?

That would be my guess!

That is what I heard from my TA who had spoken to the district manager for Disney about this cruise just a couple of weeks ago. It is still very overbooked. Which is scary that if you think you are on this ship but may not really be on it.

Nancy

I don't care if they give me crew quarters.......I'm on the ship! I wonder what the procedure for "bumping" is?

Does this mean that we may not be on this trip even with a gty? I don't think I'm going to be too happy if I don't get to go. :scared1:

They have guaranteed you a room at a certain category or higher. What this would likely mean is that if there were too many cabins reserved at say category 8 and above, but availability at a lower category, they may offer you an incredible deal to take something less than what you were guaranteed. This is something I would be willing to do only if they guaranteed me a window. Can't do 15 days without a window. If they have no rooms available, my guess is they would offer you a great price on another cruise. So theoretically, yes you may not be on this trip even with a guarantee, but I wouldn't worry about it.

:goodvibes

Thanks Tracy. We have a cat 6 gty. Hopefully, we'll get a cat. 6, if not, we be happy with a cat. 7, 8 or 9.

Ellen

It will be interesting how this all works out. There will be alot of unhappy people if they get bumped off becaue I don't think a great offer on another cruise is going to satisfy people. Look on these boards how people are complaining about being moved from AKL to other resorts.

Nancy

There are an awful lot of people that are unhappy with the new $100 PC assessment. It's not so much the money, but the way it was done with possible double-charging. If they were on the fence about the cost previously, this might just push them over. I have seen at least 2 different people post that they have recently cancelled.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Dreams Unlimited for doubling the shipboard credit in response to this tax increase. It was a very generous - and smart - move on their part. I think they have really won over alot of loyal clients with that gesture. Nice going, Tracy!

I can't take any credit for that, but I am proud to work for such a company! :goodvibes

All back to back cruisers now have to get off the ship in Canaveral :sad2: We only have to get off from 9am to 10:30 am, but still :headache:

Hi Tracy,

Any insight on why the change for the back-to-back cruisers?

Bob & Dale (Gordy says HI!!) :wave2: :wave2:

Hi Gordy!!!! :wave2:

Bob & Dale, no clue why this came about. We just got a bulletin, but no reasoning on why.
