From Kick'n It at Kidani to Play'n It at Pop adults only p62/63 last thoughts&request

So everyone agrees I need a Hallowishes do over. I seriously do not know why it didn't bother me at the time. I was just enjoying the moment and I liked the solitude that the bridge by the castle afforded.

So I mentioned that we rode the HM and then saw Philarmagic. I was starting to get tired, but I surely wasn't ready to go home. I kept getting in candy lines, not because I wanted or needed more candy, but more because I will in the spirit of trick or treating. Denny stopped getting in the lines, so I just took his bag and said, "My DH won't get in line. Can I have some candy for him?" Then they would drop a generous handfull of yummy candy in the bags. I started getting those little fun size snicker bars and milky way bars. I had about a 1/2 bag of loot each when we left. I could have gotten a lot more, but why? I took the candy home for Nick, who thoroughly enjoyed it because he love sweets.

At some point in the evening DH and I did ride Snow White. I actually think it was probably when we first arrived at the party. I wanted to ride Peter Pan, but DH was not going to do any ride that wasn't a walk on. And Snow White was....literally. I also took a bunch of pics in there. I will post them because I think they are very much in the theming of Halloween.

Does this ride scare kids, because this tree is pretty darn freaky.....

And then later, as we were walking to Toon Town.....who did we see but the actual Snowwhite and her dwarfs.....

Sept2009-Disney1311.jpg

When we entered Toon Town there was this very old woman greeting everyone. It was very strange, because she looked like she was almost 80 years old, yet she was in a cast member uniform. Denny just looked at me and said, "Wow.....what is she doing here so late at night?" It was pretty surreal, but she was the friendliest lady, basically collecting a pitance of a pay check for trying to enhance the magic. I wanted to take a picture, but it seemed rude.

Denny and I decided to take a "look - see" inside Minnie's house. We toured Mickey's house in the blazing June heat, now it was time to check out Minnie's. Honestly, I thought they both lived together. LOL!

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't Minnie's house a little more domestic than Mickey's. I mean....check out the kitchen........

Is there something a little sexist about the comparison between Mickey and Minnie's houses? I mean, come on, Minnie is baking a cake and making a grocery list and Mickey has a game room and workshop in his garage. Just sayin'. The only thing I didn't see in Minnie's house is a laundry basket and washing machine. Don't tell me it was there and I missed it!

Well, despite our fatigue, DH's protests, and the blisters on my feet, we waited in line for a picture with the domestic diva herself......

Sept2009-Disney1330.jpg

OK - just so you know - I realize I definately look like I belong in an episode of "What not to Wear" in this picture. That is actually a white tank top under my Mickey tank (in case you where wondering. haha).

We got a few more pictures as we left Toon Town. It was obvious that our photojournalistic skills are starting to take a nose dive.....

I almost forgot .....I actually got Denny to take a spin with me on the Tea cups. How could he say no.....there were about 3 people in line.

Exactly! Wanting to see it again does NOT mean you had a bad experience! No regrets, it sounds like you really enjoyed the "version" you got. The fact that it didn't bother you just shows what a relaxing wonderful trip you were having. That's a good thing. You were enjoying the moment.

I like the tie.

Impressive. I'll never get Jeff on.

Continued......

And a few more pics on the way out of the park........

At this point I am pretty sure I turned the picture entirely over to Denny. I was whooped. It was quite midnight yet. I would guess it was around 1130!

Our car was still parked at the Poly, so we drug our tired butts up the platform to catch the monorail. :worship::worship::worship: for the self park at the Poly. It is so much closer than the GF or Boardwalk. It was a relief to get off the monorail and see the car within sight!

So, that's a wrap on another great day. Another day where our heads hit the pillow and we were asleep in thirty seconds flat.

Up Next.....Day 4.......the only park we haven't visited yet......HS!

Looks like you had a very fun evening! Don't you just love Minnie's house? So sad they are going to be gone in a few years....
I can't believe that you saw Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs! Were they posing with people? That would have been a wonderful photo pass op!

Well said!

I like the tie.

Thanks! They had a couple other varities too. One had purple bats.

Impressive. I'll never get Jeff on.

He was obviously "worn down" by extreme fatigue. He'll never get on again. I guarantee it!

Ugh I worry about this summer, not much to be done about it though, ether heat and crowds...or don't go at all.

I've been the 1st week of Nov. It was not hot at all. Not cold either but just pleasant.

November is an awesome time to go. And I know your Feb weather was good. But summer is just....well.....summer.....it is what it is. Fortunately, I have found that even in the worst heat, the evenings are usually very comfortable. I like summer because the parks are open late. When the MK is open until 12pm and you don't get there until 4pm, you stay accomplish an entire day in the park. If you go with the mindset that it's going to be hot and crowded, then you relax and just go with the flow.

I love both their houses. They are so cute. When I first started going to DW I would often overlook Toon town. Now I revel in the detail. Its so cool. I will admit, I don't understand all the future plans for Fantasyland and Toon Town. Are the houses going to be gone for good????? Is that possible. If so, I will really spend some time in there in May.

I can't believe that you saw Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs! Were they posing with people? That would have been a wonderful photo pass op!

They were. And I didn't even realize how cool that was as we were walking by. In fact, I barely remember taking that picture. I really wished I had posed with them. What a great photo-op. As you can see, DH and I don't pose with the characters a lot, but I told him in May that's about to change. We are going for character overload!

Can't wait to read all about DHS!

We had a great day at DH. We got to do everything in lightning speed and we had a great lunch at you know where....the Brown Derby! :thumbsup2

I like this pic... very Halloweenie! :lmao: Loved your comment on the 'what not to wear' .... :rotfl2: They should have the Dwarfs join Snow White more often. Maybe once Fantasyland is revamped. I thought I read somewhere that Mickey and Minnie's houses were moving to the front of the park. Not sure exactly where but I hope they're not leaving entirely.

I love the rest of your MNSSHP pics!!

I also love your "What not to Wear" comment! Believe me, if Stacy and Clinton are hiding anywhere in WDW you are NOT the one they're going to go after! :lmao: DH and I decided that much like the "People of Walmart" website there should perhaps be a "People of Disney World" website! I really wonder what people are thinking when they get dressed!! My biggest issue was the women in completely inappropriate halloween costumes!! If it isn't appropriate to wear to a childs halloween party it isn't appropriate to wear to MNSSHP! Your tank tops look fantastic and I love the tie!!

Ok, getting off my soay box now ;)

Sorry it took so long but Jamie Deen's Chili recipe required a trip to the store

As per your request, these are from our 06 trip...

Not the best pictures in the world, I know, but a little bit of HalloWishes none the less ;)

The theming for the Halloween party is sooooooo super cool! Loved every last detail!

I eat my lunch in the break room in our office and we have a TV in there. So I watch Stacy and Clinton every day at noon. When I saw that picture of myself I could just picture Stacy and Clinton jumping out at me from behind a curtain! At least you couldn't see my crocs and socks! :lmao:

Those dwarfs are so cute!

That's interesting that Mickey and Minnie's houses may be moving to the front of the park. Hmmmmm....I'm going to have to pay attention to this whole rennovation thing.

I love the rest of your MNSSHP pics!!

See above comment. I am totally obsessed with Stacy and Clinton. I can't help it. I love Nick and Carmandy, too.

"People of Disney World" website - too funny. :rotfl2:May I also suggest something like the "People of the State Fair" website.

I have seen some interesting characters in disney world, but I didn't see anything too crazy during my MNSSHP. Now, it is possible that I was not looking hard enough, but all the adult costumes looked pretty tame to me. If I had seen something crazy, you know I would have taken a picture of it!

Yeah for the chilli - I bet its really good!

And :worship::worship::worship: for the great Hallowishes Pictures. Now I can relax....my TR has been saved. Thank you soooooo much!!!!!!

I love the pictures of Main Street all spookified. Just love it!

I can't wait to get to MNSSHP again.

Any chance you might be able to go to MNSSHP next year? :rolleyes1 (Can't fault me for trying)

Exactly the attitude we have...that and lots of pool time!

I hope to get there late Oct/Early Nov again someday and do F&W and MNSSHP! Preferably without kids.

LOL.

OOOOO!! The girl who does my hair just took a some sort of full day class taught by Carmandy!

People of the State Fair would be GREAT! We go to the County Fair near my parents house in PA every summer. All I can say is WOW!!!

I think more adults wear costumes on halloween then the other parties and WOW!!

The chili was yummy!!

:lmao: I don't think I saved your trip report and I definitely don't think it needed to be saved in anyway, shape or form!!

:thumbsup2 to summer pool time! :thumbsup2 You know I took LOTS of pool time this summer and it was great! It's the most time I have ever spent in the pools and I loved every minute of it.

I hope to get there late Oct/Early Nov again someday and do F&W and MNSSHP! Preferably without kids.

LOL.

:thumbsup2;) :woohoo: to the without kids part!

OOOOO!! The girl who does my hair just took a some sort of full day class taught by Carmandy!

Really? I think she's great. I wish I could get her to do my makeup once. I've learned a lot from her like no lip liner and using white eyeshadow in the inside of my eye to make it look bigger.

People of the State Fair would be GREAT! We go to the County Fair near my parents house in PA every summer. All I can say is WOW!!!

The first time I went to the Delaware state fair I could hardly keep myself from doing this......:rotfl2:. Now that I go every year (for marching band) I have became desensitized to some of the people who attend. But the first year - culture shock! :scared1:

I think more adults wear costumes on halloween then the other parties and WOW!!

You're right about that! Costumes are fun in that you can become a totally different persons for a few hours. But some people take it to extreme.

The chili was yummy!!

!

Yum. I love chili!!!!!!

:lmao: I don't think I saved your trip report and I definitely don't think it needed to be saved in anyway, shape or form!!

Ok - so perhaps I was exaggerating a bit, but those pictures are definately an enhancement and I really appreciate you posting them!

I remember being terrified of the Snow White ride when I was very little -- I don't find it near as frightening anymore. ;)

Love the picture with Minnie in her witch costume! I do agree that Minnie's house is very domestic, but then she doesn't have Goofy and Donald over there trying to remodel her kitchen. :lmao:

Great pictures of a spooky Main Street and entrance!

I'm jealous you got a picture with Minnie in her costume! On our night the line was packed all the way around with strollers and there was no way I wanted to wait! Dale almost picked up same the same tee as Denny to wear to the party but ended up with another. Glad to hear you enjoyed the party and nice pics!

Loved your update! We are contemplating doing the Halloween Party. Is the extra cost worth it? Bear in mind that we might have a 2 1/2 yr old and a 10 year old in our group.

On to DHS....
