I'm up early this am. Crazy? I know. Nick's travel soccer team has a 9am game, so I figured I might as well just get up like a work day.
So when I left off Denny and I had just finished watching the parade. It was such a great parade. One that I could easily enjoy over and over. It's funny, but when you take pictures of something you've never seen before, you "sort-of" forget the event because your focus is on the pictures. Seeing my pictures helped me realize what a really, really cool event this parade is. I hope to see it again next year when I go on my solo F&W trip (the one where I hope to see C again and meet Jen).
I took this picture of the HM as we were leaving the parade route:
DH and I decided to find a spot to watch Hallowishes. If you've read any of my other TRs, you know that I have a bad habit on getting in people's way during the fireworks. I decided there was no way, no how this was going to happen. So DH and I took a spot on the bridge with a side view of the castle. Here's the view we had.....
It was an unobstructed view and I quickly became fascinated by the changing colors of the castle......
Now we have all seen the changing colors of the castle, but somehow the colors looked slightly different during the Halloween party. Maybe I'm crazy, but there was a subtle changes to the hues that add to the eeriness of the evening.
As cool as the castle looked, this spot did not turn out to be very good for fireworks viewing. I don't know if its always like this, or if we hit it on a bad night, but we really didn't see much of the show.
Most of the pictures I have show smoke, but no fireworks. Once I realized that we weren't going to see much of the show, I had no desire to move. I was comfortable there. I wasn't in anyone's way and I didn't have high expectations of my pictures. So we just stood there, watching the changing colors of the castle, and taking in the evening. It was a relaxing moment. A moment where cares disappeared and we literally just lived in the moment.
Check out the greenish/orange color of the castle. How 'bout that pumpkin? That is cool.
Seriously, I don't know where the fireworks were.....but this is about the most I could see.....
So, if any of you are Wishes and Hallowishes experts, please tell me why you can't see the fireworks from the bridge. Is this always the case????? I am curious.
Ooooooooooh......More Smoke!
So.....not much in the way of fireworks, but the beautiful colors of the castle is so impressive. Truely, this was a beautiful display of lights. As for the fireworks, well......I need a do over.
After the fireworks, it was time to take a little ride on HM. I loved how cool the mansion looked. The colors were gorgeous, especially the red (which I don't have a picture of).
I loved the women's voice that I heard while standing in line. I wish that was there all the time. I tried to soak in all the details of the HM, reveling in the spookiness of the evening.
At the end of the ride I took this really weak picture of the pet cemetery:
Denny and I did pose for a photopass picture in front of the HM, but we didn't get one of our own, so I have nothing to show you. I also wanted to pose in front of Cinderella's carriage, but there was no way that Denny would consent. So....here is an empty picture of the carriage....
So, what did we do next? Well we did a little more trick or treating and then set off to watch Philarmagic. The candy was getting better as the evening wore on and the lines started to die down. At first we were getting packets of raisins and a few toostie rolls. Now, the better candy was coming!
So....up next.....the end of our evening at MNSSHP!
