I think this one is my favorite...

Sept2009-Disney794.jpg

They are all so beautiful!

Did you enjoy exploring through the Oasis? I think it's another under appreciated section of the park - only one time have we taken the time to walk through it and take it all in, usually it's zip right through to hit the rides!

Looking forward to MNSSHP!

How is the soccer team doing?

thank you. I will make sure I keep revisiting those photos so I can remember all the animals I saw. It was so cool.

I loved the Oasis! This is really the first time I took my time to explore the Oasis. I'm so glad I did and I'm glad I took the pictures to prove it.

MNSSHP coming soon.

And the soccer team won again last night 4 to 1. One more game ........and then.....ta da.....the state tournament. :woohoo:

So here it is........The May ADR's.......

I did them on line. I specifically took off today so I could do ADR's in a relaxed manner. Even after my trial run - I got a bit stumped retrieving my reservation, so I got off to a slow start.....6:05 am instead of 6am. :lmao:

Sunday May 2 The Wave 7:15pm.
Monday May 3 Rose & Crown 7:25pm
Tuesday May 4 Le Cellier 12:30pm
Wednesday May 5 Tusker House 10:20 am
Yak & Yeti 7:45pm
Thursday May 6 Ohana 6:15pm

I have a few notes about these ADR's

1. I wanted the Wave at 7:30, but it was only available at 7:15 and 8:05. Go figure?
2. I still couldn't book a Sanaa ADR on line, so when Y&Y popped up, I figured ....what the heck. It's late EMH at AK. I can get right off EE and go to my ADR. Then we can walk out of the park, in the dark, with no one around. Plus I tried so hard to get Y&Y in September
3. The first time I tried for Ohana I could only get 5pm and 8:15pm, so I went back and tried again......and.... see.....the perfect dinner time popped up!

Lastly, I put a request in for CRT for breakfast on May 7th. It was wide open...wide open I tell you. I thought it would be fun to do and pay OOP.....It would be $179 for all four of us. I just think that's way too much money to spend for breakfast. It can not be that great. So Cindy's will just have to wait until the next time I do the DxDP.

So May 7th is my actual birthday and I will probably make an ADR somewhere that day. Just not sure where. Maybe Sanaa for a departing lunch. I like to leave something hanging, some little detail I can obsess on for the next few months. Hmmmmmm.......Maybe a Kona breakfast??????? Anyway....open for any and all suggestions.

Congrats on the adrs! I love Rose and Crown and Ohana! As for CRT, I personally think it's over-rated. Yes, it's nice to eat in the castle but it isn't my favorite character meal and IMO not worth that much money.

Thanks! I love Ohana, too! Rose and Crown will be a first. I'm looking forward to eating, drinking, and viewing Illuminations!

Re: CRT....I'm thinking that $179 could be put to better use. Yet, one of these days I am going to see the inside of that castle!

Loving your ADRs...you are going to have a great time with some great friends!! Enjoy the food!!!!! LOL!!

I'm excited that you will get to ride EE at Night...so GREAT...rode it back to back 5 times was AMAZING!! And I hope you'll enjoy Yak and Yeti I know I did...if not just for that amazing dessert!

Yay! Glad you were able to get the Tusker House breakfast this trip! Getting up that early and on the computer pays off, huh??!!

OOH, your ADRs are great! :thumbsup2 I'm sitting here hungry, just thinking about them! :rotfl:

We'll be trying Le Cellier for the 1st time this trip - well, first time for me and my sister - the other people have been before. Can't wait!

Have a great day off!

Yes, you have commented on your nerdy-ness, but I didn't really believe you. NOW I do! :rotfl:
No one ever does. I like to trick people that way.

I think Y&Y is perfect, you did try SO hard. Very odd about Sanaa though...

$179 is crazy to spend for breakfast. Unless it includes unlimited bloody mary's and mimosas, and a live band! I'll be skipping Cindy's as well.

Hmmn. Where to eat on your actual birthday....Sanaa might be a bit of a hike just for lunch. Kona would be yummy but a bit lacking in ambiance. Hmmmn....

I think your ADRs look great!

I agree, CRT is way too expensive for breakfast. I was looking into it for January for a solor meal but no way at that price!

Here are mine :)
Sunday The Wave 645 I wanted later but the next was 8pm:eek:
Monday Biergarten 615
Tuesday Le Cellier 710
Wednesday Boma dinner 755 See you on EE!
Thursday Boma breakfast 830am (will continue to try for earlier)

I know it is weird having Boma back to back but it IS dinner and breakfast! :rotfl::rotfl: It was the only thing I could think of to do because I HAVE to have scrambled eggs!!

I will probably add one more for Friday am because I plan on leaving late that day so we will see. :thumbsup2 Maybe somewhere for some more scrambled eggs!:laughing:

Your ADR's look great:woohoo: I think I would be sitting in R&C drinking Welsh Dragon's and pints though!! And maybe some cheese! :rotfl:

Loving your ADRs...you are going to have a great time with some great friends!! Enjoy the food!!!!! LOL!!

Thanks! I'm pretty excited. I tried to pick things that I knew my friends would like. Plus, it will be interesting to try Le Cellier for lunch instead of dinner. That gives us the night free to do Cirque or whatever else we decide for the evening.

I'm excited that you will get to ride EE at Night...so GREAT...rode it back to back 5 times was AMAZING!! And I hope you'll enjoy Yak and Yeti I know I did...if not just for that amazing dessert!

:worship: 5 times in a row! I can't do that. I start to get dizzy after the second ride. I guess the fluid in my inner ear gets stuck or something. You'd have to carry me out after the fifth ride. Ahhhhh.....face it....I'm just getting old! :rotfl:

Can't wait to hear about your dessert. Yum!

Yay! Glad you were able to get the Tusker House breakfast this trip! Getting up that early and on the computer pays off, huh??!!

Why, Yes....yes it does! TH breakfast and Yak and Yeti really eluded me in September, so I HAD to go for the challenge. Plus everyone raves about TH breakfast and its tradition to do one character meal. Right?

OOH, your ADRs are great! :thumbsup2 I'm sitting here hungry, just thinking about them! :rotfl:

We'll be trying Le Cellier for the 1st time this trip - well, first time for me and my sister - the other people have been before. Can't wait!

Haha....I do the same thing when I read about ADR's and food. I start to get really hungry.....not good! :sad2:

I hope you love Le Cellier. I have eaten there three times and thoroughly enjoyed it each time. I even had shrimp instead of steack and really loved it.

Regarding the day off....you can see I am getting nothing done!

I think Y&Y is perfect, you did try SO hard. Very odd about Sanaa though...

I did try very hard.

Mimosas at Cindy's....now that's a thought. A good thought! The band from Titanic and mimosas. :rotfl:

Well.....I still have to try that Tonga toast, so its a possibility.

I think your ADRs look great!

I agree, CRT is way too expensive for breakfast. I was looking into it for January for a solor meal but no way at that price!

Thanks. I am glad you agree about CRT. I was thinking how $179 could go straight to our Cirque tickets. I think its a better investment!

Tracy...

I was hoping you would post......So our ADR's at the Wave are within a half hour.....cool. I hear ya though...the Wave is usually not that popular. I thought it would be wide open and that's the only ADR that I couldn't get exactly the time I wanted.

As for EE....that would be a blast to meet up and ride together. Except, as I recall, you got stuck on that ride. Crap....I will be thinking about that the whole time! (I hope the ride doesn't stop, I hope the ride doesn't stop

You got the perfect Le Cellier time! Perfect! :woohoo:

I have to tell you that I was very close to booking Boma at 8:15pm and then I felt the draw of the Yeti! I stood in front of the computer screen for awhile chanting, "What should I do????, what should I do?????"

I am also tempted by that Boma breakfast. That might be a good thing to do for my last day. That way my friends can see AK in the day time. I think they would love that. hmmmmmm........I may be on to something!

ME,

your ADRs look great...I haven't been to the Rose & Crown in ages and I'm dying to go back...

Have your camera ready at Y&Y-we had fun there and the decor is something at Indiana Jones...;)

Enjoy Le Cellier...I will live vicariously through you...I can never get in there...:confused3...but I'm happy for other who can...so have a great time-and take pictures...:lmao:

:laughing: I know re: The Wave...I thought that would be so easy but maybe it is getting more popular. That was really just the best steak ever though....WOW! That will be a perfect night though...dinner at The Wave and then EMH at MK.
Very excited about Le Cellier....( I'm embarrassed to say it is my first time eating here!! ) I was going to do that on Monday but I didn't want steak back to back...instead I will have an assortment of meat at Biergarten!
:eek:I hope that never happens on EE again...something to experience once and never again! ::yes::
I also have to figure some DTD time in there somewhere :rolleyes1 I will need to restock some Basin by May! :sad2:

Oh...I will. I better go back and read that section of your TR again.

I've been pretty lucky with Le Cellier ADR's. This will be my fourth trip there....first time for lunch!

:laughing: I know re: The Wave...I thought that would be so easy but maybe it is getting more popular. That was really just the best steak ever though....WOW! That will be a perfect night though...dinner at The Wave and then EMH at MK.

Maybe the secret is out. And you're right.....I had a wonderful steak there in June. The food was very good and I like the way they serve desserts. I also like that they include the smoothies. Yup....dinner at the Wave and then EMK at MK. Can't wait!

:Very excited about Le Cellier....( I'm embarrassed to say it is my first time eating here!! ) I was going to do that on Monday but I didn't want steak back to back...instead I will have an assortment of meat at Biergarten!
:

You are going to love Le Cellier. The first two times I went I had this wonderful shrimp dish. It was so good. Last June I thought to myself, "You've got to have steah here. Doh". That filet literally melted in my mouth. I'm normally not a huge meat fan, but YUM!

:I also have to figure some DTD time in there somewhere :rolleyes1 I will need to restock some Basin by May! :sad2:

Well, I embarassed to say that I've never been to the Basin (is that what the store is called) and I really want to stop there and get some of those cute soaps.

I really feel like I am shirking my TR. I just can't seem to get my updates in with the frequency I want too. I apologize. I will try to do better, but probably can't, at least until soccer season in over.

So....when we left off last, Denny and I were leaving the AK to go back and take a pool break. We only spent a little over 4 hrs in AK and we didn't do a ton of things. What did we do? Well.....just to recap we did EE twice, saw Nemo, rode Primeval whirl, ate lunch at Tusker House, and explored Discovery Island. On paper it doesn't look too productive, does it? But it was really fun, relaxing and a blast, all at once. My "taking time to smell the roses" approach to AK really paid off. I found a new appreciation for the beauty of infinite details that punctuate the AK. Put in simpler terms, I learned how to effective channel my "inner CP".

Back at Pop I considered lying down and taking a nap, but the call of the great outdoors was just too much. So off we went for our second dip in the computer pool. Of course, it was time for more pictures.....

Sept2009-Disney892.jpg

Denny and I seem to have a penchant for bringing on the rain anytime we go for a swim. As was true to form, it started to pour about 10 minutes after we arrivied. I am not one of those people who "freak" with the first rain drop. But it rained pretty hard, so we spent a good deal of time under this umbrella......

Sept2009-Disney903-1.jpg

But I knew the rain would stop, and my patience was rewarded about 10 minutes into the wait. When the rain first stopped I decided to go in search of the ever elusive Pop picture that I had seened posted once of twice on the boards. Always posted by someone "in the know" and Since I was also "in the know", I set off to prove it.

There is was.....the Rubics cube on the corner of the 80's building.....

Sept2009-Disney909.jpg

So, up inside I ventured......

Sept2009-Disney910.jpg

Sept2009-Disney912.jpg

Sept2009-Disney913.jpg

It was a little slippery inside that cube given the rain and my blistery feet. Ignored my pain and climbed higher until I finally emerged on the 4th floor.

Sept2009-Disney915.jpg

(note.......there is a non Disney structure in the background of this picture).

And there it was.........the Welcome sign I missed photographing on my arrival.....

Sept2009-Disney917.jpg

Here's another one.....just in care you missed the first one.......

Sept2009-Disney921.jpg

This sign is the reason I was hoping to stay in the 80's building facing the parking lot. I thought it was be a great thing to see every morning.

When I got back down the sun had started to come out and we enjoyed our swim in the computer pool. A nice little boy came up and started having a conversation with me. He wanted me to watch him "jump" into the pool. He did a variety of fancy jumps and asked me for a commentary on each. It brought back memories, because my boys used to do the same thing. The strange thing was, I could not find a parent for this kid for the longest time and it was starting to make me nervous. Finally, the elusive dad appeared. But the fine young sir kept talking up a storm anyway. I was eventually reprived when some other young swimmers destracted my new found friend.

We probably spent close to an hour at the pool. It was just what I need to wind down and recharge. I took some more pictures as we headed back to the room.

Up Next.....Kona Dinner and MNSSHP

Your May ADRs look great! I am anxious to try The Wave too. Can't wait to hear what you think of it!

That view of the Welcome sign was totally worth the climb. What a nice payoff and a neat little factoid I will have to keep in mind. :thumbsup2

Dinner tonight was the Kona Cafe. DH had never eaten here before. Getting an Ohana ADR for tonight was impossible. I tried once then promptly gave up. Free dining = No Ohana and No le Cellier ADR's. Our ADR was for 5:10pm. Early, but necessary so we could head straight over to MNSSHP.

We actually arrived early to the Poly. I don't know how we managed that, but we did. It was perfect because it gave us several minutes to explore the pool and beach area. Yes - I have seen the pool and beach, but only in the evening. Daytime was much more colorful and vibrant. One of the first things I noticed was the music. Much like the African inspired music I experienced at AKL, Poly had some lovely South Pacific tunes filling the air. Ahhhhhhh.......I felt an immediate love for this place. I much rather listen to this than Disco Inferno (remember, I WAS staying in the 70's).

Of course, it was time to break out the camera and take some pictures.

Sept2009-Disney957.jpg

Visiting the Poly made me a little sad. Why, you ask? Well, there is no DVC at the poly, so I know my likelihood of staying there is slim to none. I am still on a mission to stay at all the DVC resorts, and since Poly is a deluxe, I will probably never splurge to stay there. It doesn't seem fiscally responsible. It seems more logical to use that money for more DVC points.

So even though I could easily invision myself drinking pina coladas and sitting by the pool, I knew it was unlikely. So I busied myself with more pictures.....

We arrived at Kona at 5pm and the restaurant had not opened yet.

We were greeted by a long line of people waiting to get in and people trying to get reservations. Time to photograph the lobby:

Finally we were seated. And, of course, even though the restaurant was onlye 1/4 full, we were seated at one of those small tables for two right next to another couple. Of course, being on the deluxe dining plan, we looked liked gluttons compared to them.
