I've read the "from Fantasy to Magic" thread and wonder if the same responses apply to the Wonder. :)
We've sailed on both a western and eastern Caribbean on the Fantasy but have scheduled a B2B on the Wonder next January (7 night southern b2b with 4 night eastern). Is the Aquadunk on the Wonder? What about the pools, hot tubs, shows, dining rooms and food? Please tell me more about what to expect on the Wonder.

Thanks,
Martin

I know no AquaDunk. Other than that, I'll be on the Wonder for the first time in February.

I know AP doesn't have Crush but has a fantastic first evening (I have been on the Magic and LOVE that). Triton's is pretty much Royal Whatever done slightly smaller. Tiana's...that's the one I'm dreading most as I hate speakeasys/supper clubs which is what apparently it is.

Frozen is one of the shows. I think Dreams is another. But I don't know the third.

No AquaDunk on the Wonder (didn't seem reasonable for a ship doing Alaska, apparently). But, basically the Wonder and Magic a sister ships. Layout pretty much the same, but inside decor is different.

Shows on the Wonder - Disney's Dreams (like the Magic); Golden Mickey's (like the Dream) and Frozen (unique to the Wonder).

Dining rooms - Animator's Palate (like the Magic); Triton's; and Tiana's Place.

Food is pretty much the same fleet-wide. But I don't think the Wonder has shwarma like the Magic.

No Aquadunk on the Wonder, apparently it wouldn't have fit through the old Panama Canal locks if it had been installed, turned out they were the first ones to use the new ones.

The ship is smaller than the Fantasy, but we like the smaller ships better, some people don't.

Food does vary a bit with Tiana's place have some unique offerings. Also the Alaskan cruises have some additional unique offerings.

We are going from Dream to Wonder and I'm a little nervous as well. We really enjoyed the mini-golf and Mid-ship Detective Agency as ways to pass the time on sea days.

Honestly we never managed to do either on the Fantasy. There are always tons of other activities on At Sea days, check them out, you might find something new and interesting.

I'll post more when we get back, but I was nervous about the switch from the Fantasy to the Wonder and we are having a great time. It does have a slide, the Twist n Spout. It looks fun but I haven't tried it because swimming in 60 degree weather isn't my thing. :P

If the pool deck layout is similar to the Magic's (minus Aqua Dunk), the Wonder should have an all-ages hot tub on the family section of the pool deck. The Fantasy just traded hers in for a kiddie wading pool during dry dock. :rolleyes2 So that's plus one for the Wonder.

Did a b2b in February on the wonder. Been on all 4 ships. There are pros and cons on each. Yes, no duck, but in February I wasn't get on it. The small ships offer shorter lines which is nice. We saw frozen and ate at tiannas. Since it was a 3/4 Bahamas cruise we did repeated things. We are doing it again with a 3/7 b2b (Bahamas and wester carribbean).

I know before the dry dock the water slide was only.for kids, is that still the case with the twist n' spout? If not are there restrictions on it that we should know about? Disney's site is outdated the last I looked.

I have been on all 4 ships. I really like the Wonder and sailed June 19 ( Alaska). Adults are able to ride the slide. I watched a dad and his little girl go repeatedly; from the shouts, laughs and giggles they both had a great time. There is a hot tub in the family pool area. The Wonder also has a 2 level Cove Cafe in the adult only area.

I liked Tiana's a lot. There is a jazz/blues trio that plays during dinner and Tiana and Louie make appearances. On the second night they did a Marci Grais type parade with the servers. There is also a small dance floor. Some complain that it is loud, which it can be, I didn't mind as I can entertain myself watching the show and people. Don't pass up the Beignets or the bread pudding!!

The classic ships are smaller which I enjoy even if the don't have as many bells and whistles. There is still plenty to do and enjoy!

We've gone from and back and enjoy both ships for different reasons. Its all what you make of it.

You will notice quite the difference in size just in the atrium area! The Wonder's Nemo reef is only for 3 and under whereas it is up to age 8 on the Dream. The pool is small on the Wonder but they have the aqua lab next to the pool and the Mickey slide.

No detective game nor Pepe's door on the Wonder.

We sailed over Christmas on the Wonder and were never bored with the many activities offered!

Twist 'n Spout is for anyone at least 38" tall:

We recently returned from an Alaskan cruise on the Wonder. Our first time on one of the classic ships. Previous two cruises were the Eastern and Western on the Fantasy. We loved the Fantasy and I was a bit worried about moving to a smaller and older ship. Most of the family had just as great of a time on the Wonder as they did on the Fantasy. Our room on the Wonder was just as nice as the rooms on the Fantasy and our room steward was great. We had the best server on the Wonder of all our trips. He even took care of us at lunch when we saw him in Cabanas. We found plenty of fun to keep us busy. First class Broadway style shows, movies, Disney trivia, crafts and karaoke. My 17 year old daughter said she preferred the Wonder over the Fantasy. She said it was homier and people took the time to talk and get to know each other. Only one that was not as happy with the Wonder was my 13 year old son. He loved the Edge on the Fantasy and I had to drag him out of there. We saw very little of him on those cruises and he was very sad to leave the ship. He didn't like the Edge on the Wonder and complained it was hot, small and not as many activities as the Edge offered on the Fantasy. He's a very active and social kid and I was disappointed for him he did have the same great experience on the Wonder. Maybe he is just outgrowing the Disney ships, who knows. He said he does not want to go back on the Wonder. We are on the Dream in December and hoping he has more fun there.
