Has anyone staying at BC/YC ever walked through Epcot to get the Monorail to MK, and is this a good way to avoid the buses? (I have two preschoolers).

I recently came back from a stay at the Swan which is a 5 minute walk to the BC. I too, had thought about heading through Epcot to take the Monorail over to MK instead of the bus. I'm glad I didn't.

The entrance to Epcot from the BC is at the World Showcase. You enter where England ends and France begins. It is a great way to enter Epcot. From there, you would need to walk through Canada and then through Future showcase to exit the park and head for the monorail. You would take the Epcot Monorail to the TTC and then walk over the next ramp to catch the monorail for MK.

It would be a lot of walking and very time consuming. I found the busses to be excellent. I never waited more than 10 minutes at any location. The bus service that services the Swan is the same one that services the BC. stick with the bus, you'll be happy you did.

I just read a comment over on the Resort board... someone just got back from the Yacht Club, and they reported that the bus transportation was fine for them.

With pre-schoolers, the walk through Epcot and to the Monorail, switching at the TTC would be an extreme hassle...

I wouldn't worry about the buses. I've been doing a lot of Epcot Resort morning runs lately, and it's been fine over there.

Last year we did try this and it was waaay to long. My wife and I took our then 1 year old and walked through to the monorail. My brother in law and his girlfriend waited and took the bus.
We left our room a good 10 minutes before they did, and they waited 20 minutes for us outside the MK.
Like it was stated above the walk through EPCOT is longer then you realize.
