If anyone finds a fair less than $300.00 from albany, please let me know. I have to buy six tickets and southwest only has full fare available now.
It is for Feb 19-27. Thank you so much

Good luck with this one! I am in the same boat, exept that I only need 3 tix. I have been watching since Feb and everything sucks. I am getting 176 each way from Albany. 185 if I fly into Tampa. I am also watching from Syracuse as either is about the same driving distance for me. It is worse from Syracuse. Jetblue still wants 246 one way for the same dates! Talk about ouch!

I don't know where you live. We've used the Albany airport on occassion, but our local airport is Stewart in Newburgh, NY.

Right now from Stewart, Southeast Airline has a rate of $245.70 for your travel dates, BUT, they fly into Sanford, not Orlando airport.

Stewart's a very nice, small airport, but it is a distance from Albany. Long term parking is pretty cheap.

Good luck. :D

Looks like SouthEast out of Newburgh is the best you're gonna do. Then again, maybe SouthWest at Refundable full fare is not such a bad deal for exactly the first and last days of February break, especially if you can fly non-stop. With 6 ppl these are getting to be pretty pricy tix. Even Independence Air (www.flyi.com) is over $300 return to Albany, with a change at Dulles.

Good luck!

I also considered southeast, but I was hoping for the 69/each way and that is not the case, for now anyway. I really need a multiple city flight. Want to fly into tampa (visiting family then driving to Orlando) and then fly from Orlando back to NY. I really won't be happy unless I can get tix for $200 or under (taxes, fees included). Not asking for much, eh? Bahwahhhhhhhhhhhh

Hmmm, multi city eh? Looks like SouthWest is really gonna be your best bet then, esp for non-stop (but those planes are looking full already). Independence Air might cover your needs if you don't mind the stopover.

We are in the same boat, I REALLY hate buying SW at $176/OW but if the price drops in the future, we can refund the difference or even go with another airline. I was hoping for half that fare. SE doesn't look like a great option even though we are starting in Newburgh, NY - the $50 per ticket savings doesn't seem to justify the chances for problems going with a charter airline.

Is it always difficult to get a decent rate from Albany to MCO on the school holidays?? I was shocked when I saw that the Southwest flights sold so quickly! Do people moniter and buy in the first few minutes?

It sounds like these tickets are almost as hard to get as a seat at Cindy's for breakfast! LOL!

Hi, I'm flying down in Dec from Bradley (in Hartford) on Song. That flight was $282 (which I thought was a little steep). But in January I'm going down on JetBlue (driving to JFK) and I bought 7 tix for $1050! Couldn't beat it. Good Luck
