From Airport to Epcot?

Hello all!

I, along with 2 others, will be heading straight from Orlando airport to Epcot. (We are going with a large group, but the three of us have to meet everyone a couple days later.) The plan is to meet one person from our group at the van in the parking lot to drop off our stuff and then meet up with everyone in Epcot. We are staying off-site and will only have carry-on luggage.

So, a couple of questions:

What do you think is the best way to get from the airport to Epcot?
(We were thinking a taxi will be our best, if not only, solution.)

Is there a drop off point at Epcot? Will taxi drivers generally be used to this sort of thing or will we have to give explicit instructions. (We are from NYC so are used to a little of both.)

Is this a feasible plan or do you think something else might work better?

You should have no issue getting a cab from the airport right to Epcot. If there were to be an issue, you could ask to be dropped at BW, or YC/BC. Then you could just walk into Epcot through the 'backdoor' of the International Gateway. But, again, there shouldn't be any issue. I'm sure cabs are used to this.

Assuming you're arriving at MCO, a cab will be your best bet. It should run about $55, plus tip.

If you're arriving at Sanford, a cab would be about twice that.

If you are trying to save $$, there is a bus from MCO that runs from the airport to the TTC, it leaves on the hour and is lightly travelled so you would have no problem bringing luggage on.
