Friends visiting for the day at SSR?

I have a question regarding my upcoming stay at SSR. I am taking my DD4 for a mom and daughter birthday trip (staying in a studio), and I have a friend who lives in Orlando who has a DD3. I would like to invite them over for a day to hang out and swim and then maybe go to the parks. Is this allowed? Can I add them onto the room just for the day? We are doing the DDP, and I didn't know if I could do this without having to pay for the DDP for them for the whole trip. They wouldn't even be staying overnight. Anyone familiar with how this works? I thought I had read somewhere that if you just go to the front desk the day of and let them know they would be there just for the day you could do that without having to pay for the DDP for them for the trip. I might have imagined that though...who knows.

Technically no. Without the DDP you can add them to your room, with the DDP you can't without paying for the DDP for them. Technically you need to be a guest of the resort to use the pools - and unless you add them to your room, they aren't a guest of the resort.

We have had Florida local friends visit us at DVC many many tims..without staying overnight......we just give the front desk their name or names and they have to stop at security and let them know the name of the DVC member. Never a problem....We do not use DDP, so I can't be of much help there.....but I would think that you would explain the situation to your server and it wouldn't be a problem and if it is, ask to speak to a supervisor and explain the situation. They should be able to just give that person or persons a normal check for their dining.

This is a hot topic. I have family in Orlando. When I am staying at Disney they come and visit me at the resort and we usually have a pool day. The only pool that you can't do this at is SAB at BCV because they check room keys as it is a very popular pool. When I am at BCV we just go to the quiet pool. I have NEVER had a problem. I know a lot of people disagree with this though.

At least for swimming, if you add your friends as guests to your room up to the max the room holds, then no one can have a problem with it. If you don't to that, you are breaking the posted rules.

If it's not possible to add them to the room due to DDP issues, maybe you can all go visit a waterpark...
