FRIENDS, PHOTOGRAPHS, and Birthday FUN! 3/3 30 Day Photo Challenge Day 21

Hi everyone! I hope 2012 is smooth sailing so far.

Work is really slow right not for a variety of reasons which I won't bore you with. As a result I've been throwing myself into vacation planning- I ebb and flow and will obsess about these kinds of things for a while and then walk away only to return obsessed again.

Karen's trip with her family is coming up soon so we haven't had a lot of time to discuss OUR trip- somehow this family trip that's coming right up seems to have taken priority over my need to plan!

So, I've been planning some other things... the beach trip I mentioned in an earlier post for one. There isn't really a lot to plan though. We've been to the area before and have a favorite restaurant (Lulu's- I can practically taste the fried crab claws now!) and will do most of the cooking at home so there aren't a lot of meals to plan. I've researched a couple of touristy places that we can check out if it rains and found the best rated dolphin cruise in the area. But that's really all there is- this is an extremely laid back vacation and we'll spend most of our time just hanging at the beach.

Sounds fun but how am I supposed to obsess about that???

So, two vacations coming up in the time span of about a year and nothing to plan for one reason or another- what's an obsessive planner to do? Throw herself into planning the Universal/Legoland trip that's nearly TWO YEARS away of course!

I've been pouring over the Universal boards and doing search after search to find Legoland info. I have a Legoland forum bookmarked (but I just read it, no posting, I swear!!!) and a few other sites that are helping me research for this trip. I've got ideas for touring plans, meals, hotels... seriously ladies- it's a bit sad!

I'm not starting a PTR just yet though I think perhaps I should since I'm putting so much into planning this... It's just that I started this one so very early and then abandoned it for a while when I got burned out on planning. So, I haven't decided yet what I'm gonna do about the PTR but if I decide to do one, you guys will be the first to know.

I didn't get a chance to tell you today (damn those other people for not letting me talk Disney the whole time!) ...

anyway, I don't have details on prices and I won't until I am able to register for the Princess 2013, but we will get room discount and ticket discount, and I believe you will also get the discount b/c you are traveling with me. I know for sure you will with the room, b/c we will book it through me, but the tickets I'm not 100% positive, but I believe since you are staying in my room with me you will as well!

In all seriousness, I'm totally freaked out that even in a years time I won't be able to do it. I've been stuck at 3 miles all YEAR, this year! What if I can't do it?!?!? No, no, no, negative talk won't help. I can do this, and even if I'm totally beat, I can still walk it at the end if I have to! I'm going to do this. I am.

Thanks, Liz! We are planning Saturday-Thursday (5 nights) at POFQ and 4 day hoppers.

I'm sure some of you have already seen Karen's report on our FANTASTICALLY BIG BLOWOUT to celebrate her trip!

Karen and crew are heading out in just 18 days for loads of family fun at...

To kick things off we loaded up the table complete with Twister table cloth and balloons and records hanging from the ceiling along with some hippy flowers and Pop Century signs...

Of course we had to use loads of icons that they'll be seeing all around their resort. Including...

Pacman, rubik's cubes and yo-yo's...

Jungle Book, bowling pins and if you look closely you'll see the top of the container of playdough...

Mr. Potato Head, a frisbee and Lady and the Tramp...

We also had lots of things that POP!

Blow POP!s and Tootsie POP!s...

(See the frozen Cokes... we know they're not at POP! anymore but we're remembering the good ol' days.)

Karen's son made an absolutely perfect Mickey head pizza!

We also had some funfetti tie-dye cake...

The girls came in to devour the pizza and sugary goodness...

The third girl (in the middle) is their friend Leslee who is going on the trip with Karen and family.

They don't like to pose but love to be silly for the camera...

It was a GREAT day and we had loads of fun! I think the girls enjoyed it too.

I just had to Pop! over to your PTR (I know I'm corny!) and see your pictures from the party. You and Karen had everything! I loved the confetti cake with the swirly icing and all of the toys. I couldn't believe it when I saw the Walkman! My brother, David, still has one just like that! Cool party!

Thanks, Erin! My mom and dad had that Walkman in their basement so it was either mine or my brothers. Sometimes it's useful that my mom holds on to so much stuff.
