I already pointed them in the direction of the Cruise Critic Boards. Can you recommend any other websites that they may enjoy?

Thanks!
:)

Carnival may not be the best cruise line in your eyes. However, Disney is A LOT more expensive than Carnival. Some people just aren't willing to spend that kind of money. Even if you think they have the money, they may want to spend their money on something other than expensive cruise.

I would love to go on a Disney cruise!! Disney knows how to do things for sure. However, Royal Carribean was so much cheaper. I just couldn't rationalize spending Disney money even on our 1st anniversary trip. We'd rather spend it on things for the house and take a more reasonably priced cruise, and be able to spend what money we want to spend on a cruise for a nice room.

It really depends on what you want in a cruise. I'm not a "party" person, so I think I would prefer RC over Carnival. That is just me though.

Just be careful not to make your friends feel bad about their choice. You don't want them spending money they aren't comfortable with, or looking down on Carnival when they go.

I certainly did not make them feel bad. I am just trying to find info for them so they will have the best time they possibly can! My 'Gasp' was just the fact that I was 'talking' about Carnival on the DISNEY boards,
:)

You might find some more info on epinion.com; they have a cruise section, too.

I like Cruise Critic as well. There is also cruisemates.com which is fun. Although I don't think there is any other line that has quite the same following that Disney. I wish they did though because talking about the cruise before you go is half the fun! :) Hope your friends have a great time!

Not a website, but the rec.travel.cruises newsgroup provides a wealth of info on Carnival and most other cruise lines (although there's not much Disney interest there).

They should check out Carnival's web page www.Carnival.com
That way they can see picture's and waht is offered on their particular ship.

and found some info (though not as comprehensive as cruisecritic.) at cruise-forums.com and have found some information there very helpful!
Hope this helps!
Heidi (looking forward to Disney after Carnival)

I have sailed on Carnival 6 times. They should have a good time. What ship are they on? How long is the cruise? Cruisecritic.com was the board I used for any info questions for previous cruisers. Kathy

I was told by some one that I know who works in the cruise industry that one of the main reasons that Disney is more expensive than other cruise lines is gambling. The casinos are so profitable that the cruise lines can charge less for the accomodations. Since Disney has no gambling, they have to charge a little more to make their profit numbers. I would rather go on a cruise and know what I will be spending then go on a cruise with gambling and get a cheaper room but lose the difference between Disney and the other cruise lines, at the casino. Anyway, to each his own, I think that Disney is a great
value, everything considered but am sure there are other wonderful cruise lines (however they will never see my money -
casino or not).

I was on the oldest Carnival ship Tropicale 1 1/2 years ago and had a great time .TRy the CRUISEMATES http://www.cruisemates.com/
and Cruise critic . I would book Carnival or any cruiseline around Disney was Great but I just love to cruise .
