Arrr me hearties, its Pirate Night!

Dinner tonight was in Animators Palate again. Just before dinner, there was a knock at the door. It was Cassie, bringing us some glow stick bracelets from Char. Daniel chose a green one and put it round his wrist. We werent wearing full-on pirate outfits but all had pirate t-shirts on.

We switched tables again tonight and sat with Wendy and Rich. Sian deserted us, though, preferring to sit with Cassie and family. While taking the drinks orders, Isabella (our Assistant Server) came over to ask if it was OK for Sian to have a light-up pirate glass. I think there was some confusion and crossed wires somewhere but the upshot was that Wendy and Rich kindly purchased pirate glasses for Sian and Daniel, which was very sweet of them.

For appetiser, we all went with the potstickers which were very nice.

Gary had the short rib for main.

I had ordered the chicken with a jacket potato.

Unfortunately, the chicken was not what I expected and I didnt enjoy it very much. It really didnt matter, though, as I was still pretty merry from the days drinking and really didnt feel that hungry.

For dessert, we all had Mickey bars (even Wendy).

The photographers came round to the table (this was the first night we had seen them) and we got some great pictures. One of Daniel was my favourite so we ended up buying that one.

After dinner was done, we went to look around the shops before heading down to the theater for the family show which, tonight, was a ventriloquist act by Taylor Mason. It was a very funny show. We were laughing even more when everybody he pulled out of the crowd was from England. He made lots of jokes about whether there was anybody except people from the UK on the ship.

Towards the end of his act, he asked for a couple of kids to come up on stage and finally got some people who werent from England. Then he asked for a Mom from the audience. Quick as a flash, Daniel grabbed my arm and held my hand up in the air. I figured we were fairly safe as we were right near the back but, no. Spotting the green glow stick around my sons wrist, Taylor said What about that Mom there, next to the green light. I was so embarrassed. There was nothing much I could do except head up on stage. Of course, on the long walk up, all I could think was that he was going to ask me where I was from and I would have to say England. I was already dying inside at the thought.

So, I get up on stage and he asks my name and then where Im from. Through the tears of laughter and amid much hysteria, I manage to blurt out England. He rolls his eyes and asks Whereabouts in England. Well, I was crying laughing and just said Ummmm to which he replies Oh yes, Um, isnt that right next to Birmingham. You got through Birmingham and then you get to Um. He proceeded to give me a puppet, a big monster called Simon. The idea was that I had to move my hand to make Simon speak as Taylor did his bit. Well, of course, you try to pre-empt what hes going to say but he kept talking so I kept moving my hand and he kept talking&and so it went on. Even now, looking back, I am laughing just thinking about it. Anyway, my good friend Wendy actually recorded it so I thought I would post it here so you could have a good laugh at my expense.

It really was very funny but I was mortified at having to get up on stage in front of all those people. Taylor gave us all a copy of his DVD as a thank you and I made my way back to my seat. Of course, I blamed Char as it was that stupid glow stick that shed given to Daniel that got us noticed.

After the show, Daniel went off to pick Abby up for their date (I thought he was meeting her at The Edge but found out later that hed actually gone to her stateroom to call for her). Gary, Wendy, Sian and I went up on deck for the pirate party. We found a spot to watch the party. I loved the deck after dark, with the Aquaduck all lit up.

Pretty soon we spotted Daniel and Abby heading off to Frozone for their smoothies. Since you have to pay for the smoothies on the ship, I was concerned that Daniels KTTW might not work for charging (even though I had given him charging privileges, he hadnt yet actually bought anything) and he would be embarrassed and not know what to do so Gary went off to watch discretely from a distance to make sure it all went smoothly (pardon the pun). The rest of us kept our distance but I couldnt help keep glancing over, thinking how sweet it was that my boy was on his first date. They headed over towards us so I made them pose for a picture, which Daniel was not too pleased about. He kept saying Oh Mum, stop it.

I found out later that theyd bumped into Abbys parents shortly afterwards and, when Jody tried to get a picture, Abby told her Daniels Mom has one, get a copy from her :rotfl:

The pirate show started and it was quite different to the previous one, aimed far more at the older members of the audience. The handsome Captain Jack Sparrow made an appearance.

And following the show were the fireworks, again different (no more 'I Need A Hero') but still awesome.

After the pirate party was finished, Sian went down to the room. Daniel had been told to be back by midnight. Gary, Wendy and I went to check out the dessert buffet. On the Fantasy, it is served in Cabanas not out on deck. There was so much food and not just desserts. There was chilli and baked potatoes, turkey legs and lots of other offerings.

There were lots of Halloween displays, ready for the next day too.

We had a couple of desserts, which were very tasty. We sat chatting for a while and then decided to go to bed. I poked my head in to the kids stateroom to make sure they were OK. Daniels date had obviously taken it out of him as he was fast asleep.

Back in our own room, it wasnt long before we were fast asleep too.
