Monday 28th October
So, we had gotten back on the ship and went straight up to Deck 11 to get lunch. Today we decided to eat from Tow Mater Grill.

They had a daily special of a spicy chicken burger, which Gary chose. He helped himself to ample lettuce from the bar and topped the whole thing with Heinz BBQ sauce.

I was not brave enough to try the spicy chicken so opted for a regular grilled chicken burger.

Gary told me Id made the right choice as the spicy chicken had a real kick. He said it was pretty good though. My grilled chicken was nice, too, very juicy. I left half the bun and some of the fries.
We werent really sure what we wanted to do next. We both wanted to sunbathe/swim but we couldnt be bothered to change. In the end, we opted to solve the Case of the Plundered Paintings at the Midship Detective Agency. This proved to be a good way to walk off lunch and kill a couple of hours this afternoon. The ship was gloriously quiet and we had a wonderful afternoon. During this case, we got to visit Pepes Door which was super cute. I wouldnt want the room on the other side of this door, though, as I would imagine it gets a lot of foot traffic.

We were just coming down the stairs to Deck 4 when we bumped into Wendy. We stopped to chat for a while and then Daisy walked past. She kindly stopped to pose for a picture.

We said goodbye to Wendy and were going to continue on with the case when we noticed the cruise rebooking desk had opened up right next to where we were stood and there was nobody waiting. It was like a sign so we took a seat and booked ourselves another cruise (only a dummy date at this point in fact, I couldnt even tell you what cruise/dates we actually have booked at the moment).
By the time we had finished, we realised we should probably head back and get showered and changed for dinner. Back in the room, Sian phoned to let us know they were back on board. Theyd had a few issues with their excursion so I told her to get ready for dinner, then come over.
It turned out that the excursion had not been very well organised; there were no towels provided despite the ticket specifically advising people not to take towels from the staterooms. The time at the Turtle Farm had been cut short as they were running so late and Daniel had missed out on some of the interaction with the dolphin as that experience had been rushed too. I was extremely disappointed, both for Daniel (who had missed out) and Sian (who had paid for the whole thing) and we decided to head down to Guest Services to speak to somebody. After arranging to meet Gary and Daniel in the dining room, we went down to the Guest Services desk. We were given a form to fill in, to provide feedback on the excursion, and were told that somebody from the Port Adventures team would contact us later.
Having done this, we set off to meet the others. Dinner tonight was in Royal Court. Our servers had told us the night before that they felt bad that our party was separated and so had arranged for us to be sat in a semi-private room. When we arrived and saw the area we had been assigned, we were so pleased. It was lovely and, although the tables were still separate, it was a lot easier to communicate and we didnt feel as bad about getting up and socialising.

I really loved this restaurant, particularly the cute Cinderella carriage bread baskets.

Having had a dry day today, I was more than ready for a little drink with dinner.
May I present the Double Crowned Crown Royal, Chambord, Cointreau, Cranberry and Sweet & Sour Mix.

I loved this drink. It was fruity, refreshing and absolutely delicious. I may have had another one or two
We mixed things up a little tonight. The three boys sat together at the four-top, Bobby and family sat with Jen & Rob and Char, Nate, Mum & Dad joined us at the big table. I tried to get a decent picture of the boys but they were over-excited and goofing around a little.

For appetiser, I ordered the breaded camembert. It was delicious.

Sian had snails. I dont think she was overly impressed but she did finish them.

I dont know what Gary had for appetiser but it must have been fairly boring as I dont have a picture. For main, he had the beef tenderloin.

I had a duck dish, which was wonderful.

Unfortunately, nothing on the dessert menu really took my fancy. Fortunately, I was able to get one of these.

Obviously, it was delightful.

Gary got two crème brulees. Yes, two!!!

All too soon dinner was over. This was probably my favourite dinner of the trip and I loved being in the separate room. We arranged to meet up with some of the others later, for the show and went back to the room to get changed. I love getting dressed up for dinner on the cruise but like to change afterwards, into something more comfortable for the evenings entertainment and a little drinking.
Back at the room, we found a little gift from one of our fellow cruisers, Kathy. She had bought me a roll of the Mickey duct tape that I had admired on our FB group and left it hung on our fish, together with a note on our magnetic board.

Daniel and Sian had a sea turtle on their bed tonight. He was huge and very impressive. Daniel was quite taken with him.

Gary and I had an elephant. Very cute.

Next, we went down to the theater for tonights family show, which was a (slightly tamer since there were children present) repeat of the previous nights hypnotist act. As we were taking our seats, I saw Holly and her husband, Scott. Scott and I were discussing how we werent all that convinced the act was real so Scott had said he was going to volunteer to take part tonight. When the call came for people to go on stage, Scott went up but was quickly dismissed and sent back to his seat. So we still dont know whether it was for real or not. I will say that there was a young lad sitting alone, in front of us who went up on stage and I am 99% convinced he was a plant. I saw him several times over the course of the cruise and he was always alone. And he was just not convincing to me. Maybe I am just a cynic
After the show, Daniel sprinted off to The Edge and the rest of us went our separate ways for a while. Gary, Sian and I wandered upstairs to get a drink. I dont recall what else we did but I think we may have gone to Shutters to check out our photos.
Wendy and Rich had gone to Palo for dinner tonight and didnt come to the family show so I had messaged them to let them know we would be going to the adult show later. Tonight it was a comedy magic act by Shawn Farquhar. Shawns act was absolutely fantastic, he was so entertaining. His act was very funny and utterly brilliant. I was so impressed. At the end he did an awesome up-close card trick which astounded me (and, from the gasps in the audience) I suspect a lot of others as well.
After the show Wendy, Rich, Gary and I went to Skyline for a drink. Sian was tired so decided to go back to the room. Tonights cocktail of choice, I believe, was the Metropolitan Absolut Kurant Vodka, Cointreau, cranberry juice and freshly squeezed lime juice.

Around 1am, we headed back to the room and, after checking that both kids were safely in bed (and turning off the blazing cabin lights and blaring TV) we went to bed ourselves.
