My friend and her family just got back from the cbr and on their last morning there her dh felt something crawl across his neck. Then it went down his back. He caught it in the sheet. It was a HUGE waterbug. Thank God it was their last night. They didn't complain or at least tell anyone about it.
I hope that they spray or something. We are going to pofq in August and to think of that. YUCK!!!
I guess it happens everywhere but I would think not as likely in the cleanest place around "DISNEY. "

I wish it was a bugfree society, but then what would happen to ITTBAB?

It probably just came in when the door was open. I live in Florida and believe me, bugs are everywhere.:D

I'll second that about Florida and bugs. You will find them in the cleanest of places....they are just everywhere. The waterbug was probably a Palmetto bug. The one most likely to freak out us non-Floridians. ;)

There is no way to get rid of all the bugs. They do spray, but as long as there aren't any infestations in the rooms, it's really not a big deal. A lot of the people who live in the area screen in their whole back yards because of the bugs. Disney can't do that to the resorts.

Yes, those Palmetto bugs are everywhere Florida...those and lizards.LOL I know it can't be helped, but if I found one crawling on my neck, it would've given me the hebie jebies too.LOL:earseek:

Hey, but those itty bitty lizards are soooo cute! My son carried
one or two around with him all over MGM...even on some of the
rides. I thought they were darling. Not so fond of bugs, either,
though.

AS clean as I am I get those water bugs at times in my house and as you can see I am in Boston. remember, "It's TOUGH TO BE A BUG"

If they didn't have the lizards, THEN you'd really seem some bugs. :earseek: :earseek:

I can't bring myself to think of the lizards are "cute" but they are, uh, interesting to look at. I just hope one never scoots into the room when the door is open, or I'll probably freak out.

...if their room was on the first or second floor? We will be arriving there next week, and now I am thinking of faxing CBR to request 2nd floor rooms....

Countdown to WDW:
7 days - 1 hour - 28 minutes - YAHOO!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

:earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy:

Kimmar,

It only happened once, I wouldn't freak out about it. Your going to find a lot of bugs at WDW...well of course....and one might get in the room when your not looking. Don't get yourself all nervous and whatever

Mike

They could get in those rooms just as well as a first floor room. But I really don't think you should worry about it. This seems to be an isolated case.

Kimmar -- Don't worry about it. You get spiders, flies, mosquitoes, etc. at home don't you? The good thing is, now if you happen to encounter one of these bugs you'll know it's something not unexpected and just dispose of it like you would any other bug.

I've been to Florida many times and have had only one indoor encounter with one of these bugs at a friend's very lovely home.
