A friend of our needs approx. 60 pts for Dec. stay.

Some thoughts -

1. Sell him points $10 each
2. He could buy a small resale contract (at Vero) for Approx. $45 if one becomes available then sell after his trip. Closing costs may prevent this approach.
3. Rent from a 'sponsor' of this website.

Any other random thoughts or creative ideas would be appreciated.

1. If you have to points to rent to him and can spare them. Not a bad option.

2. Wow, I wouldn't buy a resale contract just to turn around and sell. You are right about the closing costs. Don't forget the MFs. Vero Beach is the highest dues. Youch!!

3. Renting from a reputable point broker would keep your friendship intact (in case they have to cancel or some other issue comes up) and would certainly be a little more expensive but may work out best.

If you do go with option 1. I would transfer the points to their account (assuming you both have an available transer). That would take any possible issues away from your side.

I'd check to see if the stay he wants is even available before expending any money on a pointless attempt.

How much would the room be for cash? Depending on the resort and the dates, there could be discounts.

definitely - blt, bwv and vwl are gone for Dec - now you might get a cancellation.

Dec is very popular for DVC members.

BLT, BCV, VWL and BWV can generally get more than $10 per point

I would just transfer the points to his account. That helps him and if you ever need points, you know who can help you out.

I would not buy another contract unless he plans on keeping it for awhile.
