I am sure I am just missing the menu or restaurant..but I have never seen a menu offering friend shrimp.... can anyone help clue me in?

I asked the same thing a few months ago. There are not really many fried fish/shrimp options at all in WDW. :( (You know, the way God intended seafood to be eaten? :) )

Narcoossee's has buttermilk fried shrimp as a app.

My mom got a fried shrimp appetizer at Narcoosee. The only thing is, it was only like three little fried shrimp. The Mara CS at AKL has fried shrimp, but they were very greasy and like the ones you get out of the frozen case at the grocery store. Not particularly good. I think my mom also got some at Fulton''s one day when we were there for lunch. T Rex also has some on their menu, but we haven't tried them.

Every time I take my mom down there she keeps insisting that they simply MUST have fried shrimp down there. I keep telling her Florida really isn't a southern state and good ole southern fried catfish and shrimp won't be found down there.:rotfl: Fried seafood and good Mexican food are two things WDW is definitely not known for.:rotfl: (oh along with decent pizza):rotfl:

The best.... THE BEST.... fried shrimp I've ever had can be found at Cookes of Dublin (the counter service next to Raglan Road). The shrimp were huge and fresh-tasting, and the batter wasn't too overwhelming. Just perfect. I have a picture of my fried shrimp basket from there at home.... if I had it available now I'd post it!

I love the Shrimp and Scallops at Kona Cafe:

Shrimp and Scallops - panko breaded shrimp and pan-seared scallops with sticky rice and ponzu, spicy guava-passion fruit and wasabi cream sauces

I got that the first time I went and plan on getting it again in a couple weeks! :dance3::banana::love:

I found a pic of it. I'm sure they would substitue the scallops for shrimp if you asked if you wanted only shrimp. I loved both though.

:scared1:

I don't know what God you pray too, but I don't think we are of the same religion.

:lmao:

All I know is that I can go to Galveston or Corpus Christi and get a mess of huge fried shrimp for $15. I have to get my head right with Disney prices.

I'm from New England, where fresh is always best...but we're known to enjoy a good fried clam too. (I'm making myself hungry.) And I rarely say no to seafood - fried or otherwise.

My DD asked told them no scallops and what they did was replace them with more shrimp!

Fultons has killer fried shrimp! We also had the best shrimp po boy from House of Blues

Living in the semi-coastal South and with a lot of Louisiana influence, and in a state where catfish is its own food group, I can tell you that in the hands of a good cook, you could fry a cinderblock and it would be yummy. Properly fried food is not greasy in the least, but not many folks can pull it off. You ever tried a fried whole turkey? :woohoo:

I see tempura battered food in several WDW spots, and that's kinda/sorta fried. But in full disclosure mode here - grilled, fried, baked, broiled, shrimp is pretty wonderful to me.

Nazran, Golf4food ... I think I could feed either one of you with no problem. :thumbsup2

I live in east Texas and know what you mean. We have some wonderful all you can eat fried catfish, fried shrimp, boiled shrimp buffet places around here for like $12.00/person. They even have homemade hot blackberry and peach cobblers on the bar for dessert.:rotfl: You gotta remember though, that they aren't in the middle of Walt Disney World. No, if I want good fried catfish and fried shrimp or good Mexican food, I get it around here. There are alot of other good foods at WDW though.

Tokyo Dining in Epcot has these enormous tempura shrimp that are delicious. I think the meal is around $20 and again, these shrimp are huge.

Its a different style, battered not crumb coated fried, but still very good.

Somebody mentioned East Texas, my dad was from there and omg I miss going to my grandmother's for all that delicous fried catfish and shrimp. Nothing like that in WDW I'm afraid.

I think at Cape May buffet you can get fried shrimp on the kids section. I think they were pretty good but not real big. The buffet cost 27.99 so not sure if that is a value to you if you do not want all the other stuff.
