fried pickles?

I'm in North Carolina and you can find them at some local restaurants. We had some last night at Texas Land and Cattle-not sure where else that restaurant is. They also have them at Razzoos which I'm pretty sure is a chain. I'll try to think of where else I have had them.

I know here in California we have a restaurant called Johnny Rebs that specializes in southren food that has them, my wife loves them, I hate pickles so it's not my thing.

The only place I can remember having them was Wildhorse Saloon that was in Orlando but that has since closed there. I know there is one in Nashville.

I've never heard of them either, but now I'm curious. I bet my DS would love them! A combo of pickles & fried food would be right up his alley.

If you love fried pickles I bet you'd love pickle pizza. It's quite delightful. ;)

I laughed when I saw this post. We stayed at the GF for our disneymoon in 1992 and I got a fried pickle with my first meal there. My DH was waiting until I tried it and then I just said"You gotta try it-it's actually pretty good!!!"

He liked it as well and we talk about it often. It seemed strange but tasted great. I know if I ever see them on a menu I will order them so I can go back to that moment!

I wonder if all Hooter's have fried pickles? I would love to try them, but have not seen them on any menus that I can recall. I think it must be a regional thing....I am in S FL but once you get south of Orlando, Florida is very different. I see the poster above is from NW FL and can find fried pickles. I will have to be on the lookout here in S FL...and if I see them anywhere, I will definitely try them!

Wildernesslodgelover.

On griffin road and Pine Island there is a place call Wings 'n Things. They have them, we get them every friday night.

Maybe we will see you there.

There use to be a restaraunt at Pleasure Island called Wildhorse Saloon. they had them there, only theirs was not the whole pickle, theirs was sliced. That is the first place we ever tried them.

Then one day our favorite restaraunt here if SF started selling them. They didnt have them for like 3months one time and we gave the owner a hard time. We know him pretty well, so it was fun. The wait staff their is awesome. They usually have our drinks on the table as we walk throught the door. Sorry that was off topic.

Whoa. FRIED pickles? You're blowing my mind. I'm a pickle fan, and THAT is something I'd like to try. :thumbsup2

Doesn't Aunt Polly's sell pickles? Though possibly not fried...

Hi ya'll, we have been eating the sliced fried pickles here in Louisiana for the last 25 years--no kidding! The first places to serve them around here were the catfish restaurants---along with our turnip greens and hush puppies...yum......

OMG! I LOVE fried pickles! Don't laugh, but I love going to Hooter's for just their fried pickles (and beer too!;) ). They have the best!!!

Hooters has them? I"ll have to check the ones in Michigan to see if they sell them, or if it's a regional thing.

My first trip to Dallas was a few months ago - that's where I had fried pickles for the first time! At Texas Land & Cattle!! I thought it was a Texas thing, but from the posters listed i guess it's not!

OP- I've never seen them in WDW. You can check the menu on allearsnet.com just to be sure, though.

The have them at the MD Ren Faire. They are soooooo good! My husband initially scoffed at the idea of them, but after trying them he bought an order for himself every day we were at faire for the rest of the season:P

I can't wait until Ren Faire starts up again so I can have more fried pickles!

They have them at the Hooters here in Omaha, Nebraska. I noticed it for the first time one our visit a few weeks ago. They didn't have them there the previous time I went, so I think they must be a fairly new addition.

Also, there's a restaurant here called Mimi's Cafe, which I think is a chain, that has them. They are a New Orleans type chain I think (It wasn't our favorite, although the pickles were great).

The pickles that I've always had are the sliced chips. Once in St. Louis at a bar in Laclead's Landing (or whatever it's called) we saw it on the menu and ordered it, and the waitress said they were fried spears, not chips and that they got mushy. We took her advice and didn't get them, but I've never had a fried pickle "chip" I didn't like. Typically we had to wait until we visited my folks in Mississippi to get our fried pickle fix, now I've got another reason to convince DW that we need to go to Hooters!

I think that spears vs chips are two completely different experiences. I like them both, but depending on my mood, I might prefer chips over spears.
