There is a fridge in my room currently but there is a sign on it that says do no use due to safety concern and informing me that it should be unplugged. Mine was plugged in for some reason so I called the front desk and they said someone will come unplug it.

I would say most likely the person who was in the room before you ignored the note and plugged it in anyway.

I found the other thread too.

We have 3 rooms so maybe we will get lucky and at least have one fridge that works safely. I was hoping to have breakfast in our rooms to save a little money.

I would say most likely the person who was in the room before you ignored the note and plugged it in anyway.

It actually appears maintenance wasn't paying attention because the tv was u plugged and bound up but the fridge wasn't. It is either maintenance or someone doesn't like tv but likes a fridge so plugged it back in. I've debated u plugging it but it is pulled out of the cabinet most of the way so it does get air to the fan. The front desk didn't tell me to u plug it but rather said someone would come do it.
