Is there a bar fridge in the rooms in RPR? I can't remember. And if they are locked, if you remove the lock, but not drink anything or eat anything, do you have to pay for the lock removal?

Yes there is a locked minibar (and several expensive snacks on the counter). We never opened it so I can't say if they would charge just for opening it or not.

They give you a key if you want. I only think you pay if you remove something. You don't want to be moving things since they know exactly where everything is. If you need a fridge for medicinal purposes, they will bring on up and you don't have to pay for it.

Be very careful if you open the minibar - even if you don't take anything out. We took the key on one trip to HRH and never even opened the mini-bar but after we got hom a charge for over $33 showed up on our charge card they had on record. I called and we worked things out but it is frustrating and time consuming. On our annual trip two years ago the mini-bars at the HRH had plastic ties on them so they knew if you opened it or not. We never opened it and again we were charged. Not sure how often this happens but I am sure there are people out there that don't ever pick up on charges for things they never used. We now turn down the mini-bar altogether and have even had them come and empty them so there is no way there can be a mix up.

i have always turned down the key for the bar fridge.
just not worth it in the long run.

they check the drawer and the fridge daily.
anything that has been moved might trigger a charge on your account.
like the other poster said, they do a quick eye scan and see what is missing.
then charges occur.

they have come in and opened the fridge in my presence for a check on one visit.
when they opened the door, it seemed like the fridge was not cold but rather just kept the food from becoming room temperature.

I thought I read somewhere that you can rent a small fridge that they'll bring in for you for $15/day? If we can't get one we're thinking of buying a couple of styrofoam coolers and leave them behind when we leave.

Yes you can rent one.

Will bringing a styrofoam cooler look too terrible. That is what I was planning on doing.

i leave it sit in the tub during the day when i am out of the room.

Thanks, I figured it was. $15/day to keep water and pop cold, is just a bit much, IMO. :goodvibes
