Friday's Ladies Post - 007 and a call for help

It's friday at last! One week from today I leave for WDW!!!!

and now a very important quilt show. A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending the Houston International Quilt festival. Unfortunately it was marred by theft and violence. Can you imagine, quilting ladies hit with such an awful act.

The First 2 quilts show were stolen from the show! I post them in case you were to ever see them, you could notify the show sponsors to recover it. YOU NEVER KNOW, KNOWLEDGE IS POWER HERE.

The next two quilts were damaged buy a man who was angry over losing a lawsuit. He threw bleach onto a quilt and it splashed onto another that was nearby. I have a picture of that house quilt and it was quite beautiful. Having made quilts and knowing that this can happen is do sad. The number of hours and months to complete a quilt is amazing to have this happen would have broken my heart and possibly my spirit. Denise, Pierce Brosnan is a great ladies post. I've always liked him.

But those quilts. They are beautiful, or they were. I don't know what I can do, but I'll try and remember them if I ever see them.

So sad to hear that something so terrible could happen at a show like that. It's hard to believe that someone could just walk off with 2 quilts that size, and for someone to purposely destroy something as beautiful as those quilts just boggles my mind.

On a happier note though, thanks for the pics of Pierce!! He is one of my very favourites!

On another note, what the heck is wrong with people??!!??!! Those were/are such beautiful quilts. My mom has made a few and I know how much time and effort go into them.

I can't believe anyone would steal a quilt and I really can't believe someone destroyed quilts because they were having a tantrum

WHAT??? I didn't realize any quilts were stolen. And what's up with the guy throwing bleach on a quilt? What kind of lawsuit did he lose, anyway?

I'll keep my eyes open for the missing quilts. They're beautiful.

It's weird he's the FLP today. I had a dream about him last night. I'm not a Bond fan and I could care less about the movie today. I wonder what prompted the dream.

He was angry because the lawsuit against him for crappy quilting machines was lost because they were basically crappy machines. He didn’t want to pay so he changed his business named and started a new one with the same crappy machines.

My quilts are NOTHING like those, but I do spend countless hours working on them and would be devasted if anthing like that were to happen to them.

Personally, I think it would be worse to have the bleach. At least if they were stolen, it would be because they were too beautiful to pass up, they would be enjoyed. The other is just too heartbreaking.

Very nice Denise I like Pierce a lot!

That is terrible about the quilts though. I recently went to our public library and walked by the place where a beautiful quilt once was hung... someone had stolen it I just don't understand people sometimes....
