I did a yahoo search about last years sale to get an idea of what the rates were and the dates offered and one of the sites I found said Friday and Sunday flights were excluded last year. I only saw one site mention it but the others didn't really say. I'm hoping it's misinformation.
Ooh, that doesn't sound good! We are going down on black Friday and coming back in about 10 days on a Sunday! Wow, dang it, I've been really planning on that sale to get some of my points back! Hmmm, hope it's misinformation, I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned more if it was something that actually was the case. Now I know the year before we traveled home on a Sunday and was pretty sure I got the anniversary price then as well. Dang, well I guess we just have to wait and see.
ETA: well this is very disappointing. I did a search and found info on the million mile secret site and it does list Fridays and Sundays as excluded! And the few days around Thanksgiving as well, so even if Fridays were excluded, Black Friday would be!
So, now I'm wondering does this hold for all sales SW has? Are Fridays and Sundays always excluded from sale prices? I know when I was looking up a little on black friday travel, people talked about good sale prices on that particular day.
ETA a second time: Did some more checking and found lots of links referencing that Fridays and Sundays were excluded in w.e. sale that was going on!! Wow, I'm just really surprised and disappointed as I've been waiting, obsessively, for the sale fairs to come, and now it looks like my days may never even have a chance. And, no, I can't change our days of travel. If we leave for home a day later, it will cost for one more night at a resort, so no real point in that.
And, I'm very surprised, that at least in the SW threads I've been reading, never any mention that Fridays and Sundays are excluded from sales.
