Friday or Saturday MM - which would be best?

We will only have two mornings at Disneyland on our upcoming trip - Friday 16th Oct and Saturday 17th.

Both Friday and Saturday are MM days( the park is opening late on Sunday 18th for the CHOC walk so they moved the MM to the Friday)

We're not staying on-property so we will only get to do one of those days as a MM. I really could do with some help/advice about which would be the best day?

I thought that the Friday MM might not be commonly as well known about as the Saturday one so there might be fewer people there?

and, the Socal AP's are blocked out on the Saturday so maybe that would be a quieter day, generally, than the Friday?

At this stage I was thinking along the lines of MM on the Friday and doing our normal park opening day on the Saturday?
From what I've read on the boards and also from some subscription services I gather that whole week ( after Columbus Day) is likely to be very crowded

Any thoughts?

Not sure what the park hours are on those days, but we have found that the earlier the MM, the less people. So if Saturday the park opens earlier than Friday, I would do MM that day, it's hard for some people to get up early.

Which day of our trip should we go to MM?
Generally if there are two MM days offered during your trip, but you only have 1 MM to use the best day to use it would be the first possible day. So if you were going to the parks for a very long weekend (Saturday-Tuesday) and you only had 1 MM, you would have to choose to use it on Saturday, Sunday, or Tuesday. My recommendation is to use it on Saturday because by the end of your trip you WILL be more tired and less inclined to wake up early. Also, even though crowds on Saturdays and Sundays will be greater, it is better to choose these days (if possible) than weekdays during offseasons. This is true because the parks open sometimes 2 hours earlier on the weekends than on the weekdays and less people will want to get up for MM at 7AM on a Saturday than 9AM on a Tuesday.

And by that rule alone, I'd choose Friday.

Actually the park hours for the Friday and Saturday are exactly the same - 8am to 12 am - so I'm afraid that doesn't make the choice any easier

I do see the sense of doing it on the earlier day from a tiredness point of view - we will be flying out for Australia on the night of Saturday 17th so sleeping in a little later that morning does appeal. However, if doing the MM on the Saturday was a better option crowd-wise we'd bite the bullet and do it

If it were me....

I would probably assume that they might be the same...maybe slightly fewer people on Friday, because there will be many who don't check, and don't know that the MM was changed. So if I want lower crowds during MM, I'd go with Friday.
