so I've got to give the freshman from my school a tour tomorrow but I'm not sure what to talk about. So what should I tellthem? What were some of your freshman fears? Tia!

Oh, I get to give the freshmen a tour on Thursday at my school. I'm so excited.

My fear was getting lost.

My fear was getting lost and being late to class.

I think you should tell the truth, but not scare them.
I dunno, tell them things are going to be okay, but don't give them the idea they can act however they want.
Tell them things to look out for and certain.. unspoken rules?
Some schools work in certain ways.
I had worries before I started, but everything went smoothly for me. I made the transition easily.

My worries were more or less being to class on time and how certain things work. Really nothing about the upperclassmen.

1 Do your homework!
2 Don't worry about missing friends, you will still see them
3 Talk to your teachers if you have a problem, they will not come to you
4 Popularity is overated

they need to hear this stuff from someone other than a parent

I start HS on the 25th. I'm afraid of getting lost. They gave us a tour on Saturday but it didn't help at all. There were two male seniors that weren't even doing the tour properly. My HS is three floors. It's huge. I'm afraid of getting lost. =/ I got my schedule today and I have no idea where most of my classes are at. I don't think there's any time for people to help me before school starts.

My main fear is getting lost and the fear that I will be picked on by the upper class.

I missed my freshman year cause of chemo. In our district, sophomores are the freshmeat in HS.

My fear? Upper Classmen.

Lawl, freshies.
I'm glad I go to a private school, none of the lower-classmen got picked on for being who they are.
I'm now a junior and I think freshman and sophomores are annoying. Not because of their grade but because the kids in those grades annoy me, haha.

Never had any fears, I knew the school like the back of my hand by 9th grade.

The classmen thing is not done here. There's always more freshies than every other grade. XD

I was afraid of getting lost. And losing stuff.

I think Freshman are annoying because they're younger than me, very immature. Even the ones I like, I find annoying.
Next years bunch are gonna be bad.
And then the year after next are gonna be the ABSOLUTE worst like ever.

But yeah, I probably won't pay them any attention. If I do, I'll probably get annoyed and rant about them later when they can't hear me.
I'll probably just do glares, I mean honestly, I couldn't actually be mean to them...

I'm a junior and I think that MOST freshmen are not annoying

I personally think that saying that Freshmen are annoying is overrated. cause they aren't

however, they ARE the most annoying people of the school. but they're not THAT annoying. and plus usually upperclassman never get a class with them anyways and they wont talk to a senior randomly in the hallway right?

You do realize kids are capable of being annoying as hell in the hallway?
I'm one of those people who can manage to annoy people without speaking to them I guess.

But yeah, this years freshman, I've gone to school with them before, I haven't had classes with them before, but I've seen how they've acted.
And their facebook stuff is enough to make me shoot myself.
they think they're hot stuff.

my 9th grade is still in the "middle school"
this year (10th) I start "upper" school

thanks guys!
i'm a junior and got roped into peer leadership somehow.
i dont even remember my freshman tour so i was clueless on what to do tomorrow...
this and talking my brother and his friends (who are gunna be freshman) i think i've figured out some stuff to talk about. hopefully ill be of some help to them...

Here some of my fears as a new freshman just to help you out

What I'm Not too afraid

1. Getting lost
2. Lockers
3. Being picked on since I'm a freshman

What I am afraid of:

1. Keeping up with all the homework
2. Having every grade count toward college

Thats really it.

Well my freshman year i stayed at the same school with same classrooms just new lockers so i'll do some of my sophmore ones from when i went to a new school.

I was terrified of getting lost (which i did)
Were to eat lunch
Who to talk to about class switching
Where the restrooms are

and silly stuff like that.
I ended up getting a map the day before school started so i could see were everything was so that might be of a help to the incoming freshies.

Lunch shouldn't be an issue since most of them already have friends but for those who don't suggest clubs or something

The class switching i found out i needed to talk to a counselor but the kids at new student orientation did not tell me and i didn't find out until the middle of the year

the restrooms were found on the map so that helped too.

lol just tell them to not bother anybody and no one will bother them... the only freshmen that i only ever had a problem with were the ones that were really loud... and the ones that acted like theyre the toughest people around haha... those were the ones that usually got picked on on my school.. no one really bothered the freshmen that kept to themselves
