I cant believe I just did it, we went to DL in California and then to DW in Florida...it was a DREAM COME TRUE! We arrived at DW for the first day of the year of a million dreams. Stayed at AKL which was wonderful as always! Crowds were moderate, but manageable. MNSSHP was a blast! Also did Universals Horror nights which I LOVE! Awesome time, if anyone has ANY questions please feel free to ask!

I did see a few of those "Golden FastPasses" they have been talking about! People got picked out of line and received them.

P.S. Disneyland was absolutely wonderful!!!

Wow, how nice for you! My goal in life is that someday I want to start my day at MK, get on a plane, go to LA/Disneyland and end my day there. I have such shallow aspirations! Good for you, I love both parks too!

Ah, how wonderful! That's been my dream for some time now. DW thinks it'd be too much Disney at once. I say, there's no such thing! :thumbsup2

Its funny, it was our first trip to DL and I thought I might not get my Disney fix there which is why I wanted to add DW to our trip but that wasnt the case. I am however very glad we went to both, it was so moving to be in the park Walt was at...I cried a little.

My dream would be to have a few weeks time to travel and visit each of the Disney parks within a few days of each other. A week here, a week there...ah maybe someday... :cloud9:

Glad you had a good trip...58 days till we're at WDW.

How did you think DL compared with the Magic K at DW? And what ride at either park was your favorite. Also, which ones are different and in what ways like I know the HM looks different. Also, did you ride the Indy Jones ride at DL? I've always wanted to go there mainly for that ride.

Lucky!!!!!

and yes I also, like aztecgoods, want to know how DL compares to WDW MK

WOW! That is so cool! I would love to visit Disneyland some day. We keep saying we'll venture out to the West Coast soon but then we find cheap flights to Orlando, the DVC points are lower at WDW, and on and on! I need to stop making excuses and head to Disneyland. Glad to hear you had a great trip. Where did you stay at Disneyland?

Hey there, we just did the same thing, kind of. In June it was Disney for a week and in August it was DisneyLand. Both places were great and my kids really appreciated the similarities and the differences. We all had a great time and I can't wait to do it again!!!

Welcome home!

How in the world could you afford a Double-Disney trip? Can I have a job where you work???

OKAY everybody wants to know how the parks compare,

Now keep in mind I am a DIEHARD WDW fan, with well over 15 trips in the last 4 years, mainly because I adore WDWs MK....

it was my very first Disneyland trip and I LOOOOOVED IT!!!

I actually think their MK is better. I cant believe I am saying it!! Unfortunately I think its true..

Their Fantasyland is huge with more attractions, the ones that are the same are better (Peter Pan, Snow White, etc) they also have ALice in Wonderland, Pinnochio, storybook canal ride, MR. TOAD, I spent A LOT of time there.

There is no comparing Space Mountains, theirs is amazing. Their Pirates is so much better. I loved their Haunted Mansion and it was alldecked out for Halloween with the Nightmare before Chrsitmas theming and it was SO good.

There was such an incredible amount of detail everywhere you looked, I really loved that.

Aztecgoods - The first thing I did was run into the park and ride Indy I was SO looking forward to it...and I was REALLY dissapointed. Its the same ride technology as Dinosaur, and EVERYONE swears Indy is so amazing and I really didnt like it. I rode it once that was it, I am good for life. On the other hand I love Dinosaur, and am still scared no matter how many times I ride it. My favorite ride in DL is Space Mountain, my favorite in California adventure was california screamin.

PrincessJasmine - Cali is really worth the trip, we too put it off for years, but I wish we had gone sooner. We actually stayed DIRECTLY across from the parks at the Tropicana Inn and suites....I would compare it to a MOD at WDW. It was a 5 minute walk to the gates of either park, and with AAA was 109 a nite, not bad

WVParkfan - We just got lucky with a great deal on airfare, otherwise we wouldnt have been able to do it. If we flew out of cali to fla on Friday it was $1280.00 difference, flying to fla on sat was $80.00 difference, so we snagged it and got an AP discount on the AKL. It worked out good.

I am sooooo jealous!!!!

Seriously, it sounds as if you had a great vacation. Congratulations on fulfilling the dream of a lifetime!

What a great trip. Last year we did WDW in Oct and DLR in Nov and this year in July I was at DLR and WDW in the same week due to a conference.

It's great to hear a WDW vet appreciate Disneyland. It's my favorite!

Sounds like you had a fantastic trip. I can't imagine being able to do WDW and DL in the same trip, but I have thought about it. What an awesome dream vacation of a lifetime. Good for you, glad you had a wonderful time.

I agree that overall DL's Kingdom is better than WDW's Kingdom

The only thing I would seriously change is the Tomorrowland theme at DL, besides the new (awesome!) Space Mountain, the rest of it is looking sad, no peoplemover, depressing theming, and just nothing at all like WDW's Tomorrowland.

It's amazing how much they've been able to cram into DL even though it's technically smaller than WDW's MK, and it all WORKS, nothing really seemed to be out of place.
