Fresh Fruit for Dessert?

I'm still debating whether the dining plan makes sense for my family. One issue I have is that we are going to WDW over Lent and we are giving up sweets for Lent. Has anyone ever tried asking for fresh fruit for dessert at TS restaurants?

I asked this question also - look below. I only got a few responses so I'm not sure how many people have actually done this. It seems possible though or at least a few people have been successful doing it.
