Fresh brewed ice-tea in WDW

I know this is a strange question, but I only drink fresh brewed ice tea or ice water. What I would like to know is if the ice tea at most places in WDW is fresh brewed or if comes from the same fountain as the pop (or soda). I was thinking about bringing some Liptons cold brew tea bags, but I am hoping that I won't have to. I know I am odd, and drive my husband nuts when I ask the waiter/waitress if the tea is fresh brewed, but I can tell the difference. Well, I hope all you helpful dis'ers can help me. At POR, it was seperate from the soda in its own dispenser, so I think it was probably fresh brewed. I can't tell the difference by taste aside from the fact that the soda-dispenser teas are usually sweetened or flavored. There are also tea bags along with the in-room coffee makers. I used those a few days to make tea in the morning and set it aside to chill in the fridge until we returned to the room in the evening. Between that and the refillable mugs, I was pretty well set for tea for the week.

I know they had it at Pop Century & AKL in the food courts. In the parks I drank water.

Table service restaurants at WDW have really good ice tea. It always tastes fresh brewed and I'm picky about it too.

Counter service tea is another story.

I'm picky about my iced tea too............must have Splenda to sweeten, which thankfully, WDW does have!

I apologize in advance, I know I'm being a pain in the behind but this is something that always bothers me... it's ICED tea, not ICE tea! It is tea that has been iced, as in cooled. Ice tea to me sounds like it would be ice cubes of frozen tea.

Search is glacially slow tonight, so I'm not finding that thread on "sweet tea." Don't you DARE give me any tea from a can, or from a soda fountain. Ack.

For a while, Disney seemed to favor this syrup concotion, to which you just added water. It was horrific. I'm seeing plenty of brewed these days, but very little, alas, that is sweetened with sugar before serving.

Iced tea. That's the ticket.

And to anwer OP's question, TS places generally have brewed tea, and the food courts or CS places in resorts are OK. CS places in the parks are more questionable. I generally got bottles of water there.

My tea at Le Cellier was not brewed. That was our first meal in WDW and I vowed not to drink tea (iced or ice...) again. Maybe they were temporarily out of the brewed or something. I did try again at 1900 Park Fare and I am happy to report that it was wonderful fresh brewed tea. Yum!

Nope, I disagree. Terms like iced or ice tea are regional. In my first reply I started to type iced tea as that is the term used when I was a young'un. But ice tea is much more widely accepted these days in my experience. Do you really see "iced tea" on many menus these day? Neither is right or wrong. If correctly brewed, it tastes great either way.

Try Googling "iced tea" and "ice tea" and see what you come up with. Just because it's commonly misspelled on menus and such does not make it correct usage.

Again, I'm sorry for hijacking the thread and being a pain in the buttinsky about it. I'm a stickler for spelling and grammar and this common misuage bothers the heck out of me every time I see it. The funny part is... either way you spell it, I can't stand the taste of any kind of tea!

From my experience any sit down dinner and POR, any of the Values, and CBR have fresh brewed ice tea. I have found that the CS places have that nasty Nestea crap

MickeyNicki, that's interesting that the values and POR and CBR have good tea. The dispensers at Gasparillas, BCMarketplace and Captain Cokks do not have good ice tea....well, at least the last time I tried.

Years ago, Captain Cook had a wonderful flavored tea in the dispenser. Not sweetened thank goodness. I still miss that tea.

The menu from allearsnet.com for the Yorkshire County Fish Shop SAYS it has Fresh Brewed Iced Tea. I haven't tried yet.

I was able to get a wonderful glass of fresh brewed iced tea in AK at the Royal Anandapur Tea Company. It was some of the best tea I've ever had, and I know good tea! I brew fresh tea from fresh loose tea leaves everyday for my afternoon tea break.

It would almost be worth going to AK every afternoon to get that tea!

Don't you think my DH would love that one? It would only be an hour trip each way from the Poly.

This is not strange at all - at least not to me! Iced tea or water at restaurants. I don't like the carbonation of soda nor the sugar in lemonade or other sweet non-carbonated drinks.

No lemon in either. I love when restaurants put lemon in your water - I didn't ask for lemon-water, I asked for ice water! When I get lemons in water or tea I immediately remove them and give them away.

I hate the Lipton concentrate that comes out of the soda dispensers - sometimes flavored, sometimes just labeled "unsweetened." Both are nasty to me.

A always have to remember to ask at restaurants. I don't want your nasty "passion fruit iced tea!" I want tea! Which to me means brewed Lipton, Luzianne or another black tea you would find at the local grocery store.

I am so obsessed that friends have suggested I start a web page where people can rate the tea at restaurants and fast food locations. For example, I like the tea at Jack in the Box, but not usually McDonalds.

Anyone know about Roaring Fork at the WL? If they have the brewed tea then I will definately get a refillable mug!

To me, it depends on the flavoring. If it is the least bit sweet, forget it. I only like black tea as well but the old one at Captain Cooks was not sweetened at all. Much like those teas in the pretty bottles...is it Repuplic of Tea?

Does Royal Anandapur Tea sell packaged tea, teapots, etc?

For many years now, I have enjoyed fresh brewed mango ice tea at the Kona Cafe at the Polynesian. Ask for it and if it is available, you will be in for a treat.
