I was wondering if anyone has ever stayed at a hotel at WDW, only to be recognized (perhaps a "Welcome back") by a CM from a previous stay. Perhaps the CM at the front desk who remembers checking you in last time, or the maid you had last time, or a maintenence worker who remembers you. I just think it would be so cool, and I was wondering-anyone out there have this happen to them?

I'm here now. Do the bartenders at 2 resorts count?
Man it's cold here, it's 47 degrees now (8:30 pm) which is the forecast high tomorrow

That would make a trip very special if Disney did that. Disney of old might have done that. But...
We stayed at ASMu in October. I got a questionnaire later. One question was if I was happy enough to return. I mentioned I was rebooked already for January.
Too bad they don't do an extra step and track when you return. Just a "Welcome Back" greeting would really perk up a guest and add some magic right from the start.

I called just days after getting home from WDW to make another reservation & the operator said "I see you were just here!" I shouldn't be surprized, the computers know all! But no, I made 7 trips to WDW in 2002, the CM's seem to change often, I never recognized them or them me. Now on the other hand, some of the entertainers in the World Showcase do smile & wave! :smooth:

We stayed at the Boardwalk, both the Inn and the Villas on 4 different trips this past year and yes, some of the staff recognized us. I do have to say we recognize more of them though...but that is understandable. One of the very many things we love about the Boardwalk is the staff has had a lot of people who have been there for several years...valet, bell boys, bartenders and the pool staff. Our favorite resort!!

WDW keeps data on visits in a database. When we checked into the AKL we were welcomed back at the checkin stand. In addition, the concierge at the AKL sent a nice card for our annivesary.

Yes we have had that happen at the Contemporary twice. The person who checked us in the day we arrived recognized us and a waitress at the Concourse Steakhouseat CR also remembered us.

We stayed at YC Concierge the last two years and one CM did indeed remember me and gave a very nice "Welcome Back !!" It sure does feel nice to be a "regular" at a resort :D :D :D

Yep, a maid at the Poly, servers at Kona and Kathy at concierge at the Polynesian are times that I can remember off-hand.

Happens to us all of the time. We get hugs from managers at the All Stars, the parks and restaurants. So many people remember us by first name. We have made so many WDW friends that we now email each other. We have meals with each other and often plan days together. Pin collecting has made alot of us a close knit family. We have had many CMs offer us to book rooms for us too, when my husband doesn't want to go. It's like family for us. We went 6 times last year and only 5 times each year before. But even the ones we're not really close remember us. Especially the ladies at Boatwrights at Dixie and, of course, our dear friends that work at the store.

We were recognized by a cm at DCA. She even remembered our names. Now that's Disney!

On our last trip our server at Ohana remembered us! :)

We haven't stayed at one particular resort enough times to be recognized yet. We hop around too much. ;)

Oh yeah. :)
It's happened everytime and it's a great feeling!
the CM's are the best! :)

Alot of the younger female castmembers remember me, likely because I am so incrediebly good looking.

It's always such a surprise to be "recognized" when we return each year to Polynesian. I don't know how they do it when so many faces pass through their doors each year--I'd be no good at it myself. Billy in bell services gives us the "welcome back" when we arrive--not sure how he is always there when we arrive, he must work ALL the time! The folks in the concierge building also remember from year-to-year. I think it's because my husband makes an impression--he's real gregarious and outgoing. :)
