Frequent Visitors: What is ok for you to skip now?

The more I go, the more we skip. Fantasmic, Indiana Jones, mission space, all the character lines and meals, the MK parade, dinoland (except dinosaur), tough to be a big, kali river, Astro orbiter, stitch, tiki room (unless burning hot or pouring). We never do the river boat, Tom Sawyer island, ETWB or the carousel.

These are our must-dos, and then anything else can be skipped and what is skipped can change from trip to trip based on whims and crowds, and it makes it more interesting. There are some things we never do - Swiss Family comes to mind. And there are some that have been 'one and done' over the past 20 years. Also, which rides members of my family skip also differ. You will never see me on Kali and I rarely go on Splash Mountain anymore, but the rest of my family go.

Interestingly enough - I went on a ride for the first time this month that my family goes on every trip to Animal Kingdom since it opened. I finally went on Dinosaur - my fear of it for all of these years (I don't like things jumping out at me) has been unjustified!!

Must do ...
BTMRR (day and dark), Peter Pan, 7DMT (day and dark), Space, Splash (for some of us), Buzz, People Mover
Tower of Terror (prefer dark), TSMM, some trips RnR
Test Track, Journey into Imagination, Soarin'
Safari (morning and around sunset), EE (day and dark), Kali (for some of us), Dinosaur (some), and now FoP

Usually do, but it's not a big deal if it's missed ...
HM, Pooh, Pirates, Philharmagic (this is an enjoyable time killer and place to get out of the heat)
Great Movie Ride, Little Mermaid
Frozen, Spaceship Earth
Primeval Whirl, Lion King, Nemo

I rarely go on Jungle Cruise anymore - the CMs make or break that experience and the times I've gone on over the last few years have been disappointing. If we go, it's only at night.

You can put me in the group that feels like I don't have to go commando at the parks all day long. If I don't see something on a trip, I'll just see it next time. There are some things I feel sad when I don't do-like Soarin' and POTC.

Stuff I can miss and not care:
Teacups
Jungle Cruise
Swiss Family Treehouse(all that climbing to see plastic furniture-no thanks!)
Monsters Inc Laugh Floor
Circlevision movies(I haven't seen any of them in years because you have to stand UP!)
Indiana Jones
Little Mermaid(in HS)
Beauty and the Beast show(time to change that one)
Any shows/singing characters

I have found that I really enjoy doing more resort exploring and I enjoy spending time swimming and relaxing, just being in the Disney atmosphere. I love the parks, but I don't have to be there constantly to enjoy myself. We've even become really fond of visiting Winter Summerland at least once a visit. :)

We are not huge on parades and fireworks and skip those most times. We watch them on Youtube at home instead, lol!

Our list of skips has changed as our kids have gotten older. These days we can do without long waits for character meets, Jungle Cruise, Tales with Belle, Stitch, WDW Railroad, Monster's Inc...those come to mind right now at MK.

At EP, we have never done Ellen's Energy Adventure since we've had kids. And we can skip everything in The Land except Soarin'. We like to walk the countries but we don't necessarily have to go do anything in particular at any of them.
At AK, we skip most of the animals (we have a great zoo at home), and Dinoland.
HS - With so much closed now, Indiana Jones or Beauty and the Beast are probably the only things we would skip just because we've seen them so many times.

Thank you all for your input. It's a bit embarrassing finding out not one frequent visitor still behaves like me, but at least it's motivation to change and start to relax.

Well we skip things every time, not on purpose, but just because there isn't enough time to do everything!!
In MK we usually run out of time and don't get to Tom Sawyer's Island, Riverboat, Country Bears, and Tiki Room (though we finally did this last time!)

I tend to suffer from feeling a need to do everything on a trip and I'm trying to work on that. lol.
Now that we have APs I feel I can slow down more which is nice.
Our last trip we JUST went to AK for 3 days and spent lots of time at AKL. It was a great trip!

There are also some things we skip on purpose - DS hates thrill rides, and is too short for most, so if I travel alone with him we skip those. Last trip we skipped Dumbo. And we've never done the Magic Carpets - DS saw the spitting camels and chickened out. He doesn't like to get wet. Lol. So we've also never done Kali Rapids. I'd be fine never doing Tomorrowland Speedway again. Or Stitch (I did it when it was Aliens and hated it and hear it's worse now!)

Also trying to make our way through shows at HS and AK. It's impossible to do all on each trip. So one trip we did FotLK then next time Nemo and Flight of Wonder. At HS last time we did Frozen, Disney Jr and F!. Next time will try and hit Little Mermaid and maybe another new one.

It's WDW. Unless you're there for a year, you have to skip SOMETHING. In all our trips, we have never seen Fantasmic. I don't know how that's possible, but it was just never high enough on the priority over other things. To get over the "missing out" anxiety, just remember that there are MILLIONS of people who have never been, nor will ever go to WDW and have missed out on it ALL.

We've gotten to the point that we are pretty much good with missing just about anything that doesn't work out for us during our trip. DH and I have had days that we've gone and pretty much sat on Main Street and people watched, ridden the People Mover a few times and gone on one or two other rides and felt that we had a fabulous fun day in the park. I've done all the rides enough that if one was broken down, being refurbed or just didn't have time this trip to do it, I wouldn't be upset.

Now if I don't get my Dole Whip, that's a different sort of issue.

I just referenced the spitting camels in another thread and I wonder if they were added because after riding them for the last decade, to my delight, my husband got a squirt in the face one time. How did this never happen before?
Ok, so you are KINDA like me... I feel better! Hee hee

Excellent point. thank you

We're in the weird position where we've been numerous times but still believe that every trip may be our last. We've always had a 'everything gets done once' rule but I can't recall the last trip in which we actually went to Tom Sawyer's Island or in the Treehouse.
That being said we are so over rope dropping. If we want to beat the crowds in the morning we grab a breakfast ADR, otherwise we utilise FP+
