Anyone had the Seafood & Chicken Jambalaya at French Market or the BBQ Pork Sandwich at River Belle?

I'm considering these but they aren't mentioned much so I thought I would ask. The Turkey sandwich at River Belle looks extremely dry. Is the Pork one the same? I like a saucey pork sandwich. Thoughts?

First, the turkey is not dry when we have been there, and my wife loves the pork sandwich, the sauce is very mild and tasty. We enjoy RBT for sitting outside and people watching and generous portions.

I've had the jambalaya at the French Market. And I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say: it was one of the nastiest things I've ever eaten in my entire life

I KNOW what real jambalaya is supposed to taste like, and...that was NOT it. It was like a bunch of bell peppers & a couple of pieces of chicken & shrimp in some ketchup with water in it atop some semiwarm semicooked Uncle Ben's Instant Rice. So gross. And the cornbread was cold & hard as a rock, besides. It was awful, and for what I paid for my meal there, I could have gone to Cafe' Orleans & got my usual, much loved meal of gumbo & either salad or pommes frittes.

I'll second what BlackJack said - the turkey sandwich is moist and tender, not dry at all, and the quantity of turkey on the sandwich is very generous. And the beans that came with ours were so nice I was happy to eat there again a few days later, just for them! I haven't tried the jambalaya, so can't advise on that.

I have an opinion that differs. I can't remember if it was our last trip or the one before, but DH and I ate here and thought the meat was very dry. I had the turkey and he had the pulled pork and neither one of us cared for the meal. Maybe it was just an off night, but neither one of us finished our sandwiches. :confused3

However, that being said, we don't generally try not to form opinions based on one meal alone so we are going to try River Belle again next time and hope we enjoy it. popcorn::

I've had jambalaya many times at parties. I have a lot of friends from the South and a couple who made it are professional chefs.

But still it was something I would of never tried until I gave it a whirl at the French Market many, many years ago. Loved it, and crave it even more than what my chef friends who grew up on it make.

I really enjoyed both the turkey and pork sandwiches at Riverbelle Terrace, both were tasty and not dry at all.

The BBQ pork sandwich is nothing special, but it was a warm meal, and just enough food for me. BBQ is BBQ IMO, don't really notice much of a difference in sauces, and I think it's a hard thing to screw up. I would choose other Disneyland food over it to eat first, but we were there waiting for Fantasmic! so I tried it.

I just had the BBQ Pork sandwich at RBT on Saturday. :) :) I really enjoyed it!! I thought it was very tasty and the BBQ sauce was very plentiful, but just in case I grabbed a small cup of extra sauce from the condiment bar. :) I also grabbed the pickled zucchini, YUM!!!! For my side I chose the pasta salad, it was quite good!! I didn't finish all the bread but I sure ate all that pork! DBF also had the pork sandwich, he enjoyed it very much as well. On a previous trip (couple of years ago) we had a turkey sandwich from RBT, we enjoyed it very much and did not find it dry at all. There are packets of mustard and mayo available, as well as salt, pepper packets in case you like to add that type of stuff to your sandwich. :) I wouldn't hesitate to have either one of them again. Saturday we were with family (who just happened to have a school band trip planned), G had the roast beef sandwich, it looked very good and came with broth for dipping, D had the turkey salad, it too looked very very good!
As for French Market...when I eat there I always have the 4 cheese baked pasta, always! It's the best. :) So I have no clue what the jambalaya is like there, but I really love the jambalaya at CO & BB. :)
