Can you freeze butter? Do you put it in anything? I bought a pack of butter (the regular sticks) from Costco.

Thanks! :wizard:

Yes, you can freeze butter! Just pop it in the freezer as is. If you plan to keep it in there for an extended period, you should probably put it in a freezer bag as well.

Yes, I freeze butter all the time. I don't pack it in anything specific, just the package it came in.

I've frozen margarine with no problem. I just keep it in the foil, the put it in a freezer bag. One thing I noticed at Costco last week--they sell butter, but not margarine! I had to make a seperate trip to WalMart for margarine! I got several on sale so some of its frozen.

^^ We have some in the freezer a month or so before we get to it. If it does go bad after a certain amount of time... then well nothing has happened to us yet :teeth:

We always buy those packs of like 20 sticks from sams club and place them in the freezer. Doesn't do a bit of damage to butter or the taste. In fact, I think we are about to go to sam's club right now YAY!

You CAN'T freeze the diet butter. :goodvibes It made mine turn into a watery mess when thawed. I think I was using Fleishman's brand.

I put the boxes into a gallon zip loc bag, think it tastes better when it thaws.:thumbsup2

Dairy products can be frozen for about 3 months.

Have fun! It's sample weekend LOL

We always have stick butter in the freezer for baking. When Christmas/Thanksgiving baking is in the works, we use close to 20 boxes of butter in cookies, pies, kolachke, babka, etc. and we'd never want that taking up room in the fridge. It always tastes perfect. :goodvibes

I do put mine in a Ziploc freezer bag also.......I find it doesn't get a "freezer" taste to it by doing so.
