Freeways/Interstates/Roads

I-4 is wimpy as interstates get. But when hundreds of thousands of motorists converge onto a small stretch of I-4, the exits around WDW, it gets ugly.

Are the Freeways and Roads as big and busy as they are in Anahiem and LA??
You can have some congestion around the attractions, but it's nothing like LA.

Generally, the roads are wider and newer than they are in LA.

Actually most of the I-4 congestion occurs quite a bit north of the attractions during rush hour. The toll roads (Turnpike, 528, 417, 429, 408) are usually ok unless there's an accident.

I like to advise tourists to avoid I-4 at all possible costs. (Mostly because then the road is clearer for locals like me. :D )

I-4 congestion usually occurs Eastbound between Exits 64 and 68, starting around 10 am. It generally clears up some time in the afternoon. During the busier tourist seasons the traffic can be bad all day long, and backs up Westbound as well.

Daily rush hour traffic happens near and around Downtown Orlando, but it can also affect the Attractions area around Universal Studios and Sea World.
