I am looking into the Dolphin Encounter in Freeport. If you have done this what was your experience. How long are you in the water with the Dolphins? Was it worth the $75.50 per person?
My daughter loves dolphins and would be beside herself if I booked this excursion for her b-day.

We did the Freeport Dolphin Encounter in November and our family had a blast!!! We rode on a boat for about 10 min to the place where they do it. On the ride into the lagoon several dolphins were jumping out of the water. You then get out of the boat and go up to an area where they give you some do's and donts while there. Then you go sit on a wooden platform in the shape of a U and the dolphins do tricks, swim by and splash you and such. Then 3 groups of 2 people at a time get in the water and stand on a platform and wait. A dolphin comes up to each group and you get to touch them and rub them and such. I think we were IN the water about 5 min with the dolphins but it was an incredible experience and something our kids will never forget. I have pictures somewhere if you are interested in them I can scan and email them to you. We were there about 1 to 1 1/2 hours total and it was a pretty big group. We felt it was a good value for the price considering how many people there were on the tour and such. They took our picture but we didnt buy them. We have 3 kids 8, 7 and 3 and they all liked it but the water was really cold then too!!! We took my inlaws and my Father in law said it was one of the neatest things he has done. Usually if you can get in the last group it seemed they got a little longer with the Dolphins than the others but I am not positive on that!

It sounds like alot of fun!!!
What time did you do? 8:15, 9:30 or 11:30, I think those are the times.

We did the earliest one because it seemed like somewhere I had read that the later you go the less active the dolphins are. We were there until about noonish and then went back to the boat. We had time to shop and get a drink and stuff at a little marketplace just before we got to the Dolphin Encounter place so we bought some "tropical" wear for the kids and some trinkets and I got some perfume and then we got on the first bus back to the ship and just hung around the ship the rest of the day!

I was going to pick the 9 o'clock one, but that would make sense about them being tired. Maybe we will change to the 8:15 one so we get great pictures and lots of smiling faces. Thank you so much. I am so excited about this vacation, I am so ready just to go now!!!!!!
