Opinions on when Poly opens up to book in February, will it free up already booked rooms?

Will people switch to Poly?

I'm hoping some people do! :goodvibes

I inquired about this during my past two calls with member services and both agents responded similarly. Supposedly, when VGF opened, it had little effect on existing reservations and inventories at BCV and BLT.

But there are more than twice as many studios at Poly than VGF, so *maybe* it will have an impact. But who knows. Maybe lots of people will use 1,000 points for a bungalow. There will also already be Poly owners staying too. Should be interesting.

Do you really think that a significant number of BCV members are going to switch their April/May Flower & Garden and September/October/November Food & Wine bookings from BCV to PVB? Some certainly may, but I highly doubt it will be noticeable.

There will certainly be movement, but, as the cast members noted, it will not be equal across the existing DVC resorts. Some will experience more switches than others.

I was trying to get a studio for the week VGF opened. When VGF bookings for non-owners started I was on at 8am but was unable to secure a studio for day 1 at VGF or any other resort. I spent the next 48hrs repeatedly trying for any studio but nothing ever opened and my single night waitlists for BLT and BWV studios were not filled.

Sales vs. declared inventory will determine likely availability, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

I think it may. The first declaration is 140 studios and 10 bungalows. They will not have sold that many points at first. People may want to try it (mostly the studios).

Keep in mind with the refurbishment at bcv, I'm hoping that we don't get booted out because they over booked. I guess if they move some of us to the poly, that might be ok other than losing SAB. We are booked at the bcv starting April 29 for 17 nights. I'm guessing the refurb will be going on then.

They typically account for that in advance, which is why I think this refurb has been delayed so many months. They have to start blocking rooms off the calendar at 11 months.

Thanks that's good to know.

We are booked at the Beach Club for April 29-May 3...I really hope they don't switch us as the kids are really looking forward to the pool!

Yes.

I've got 9 nights booked at BCV for the end of June-early July. I'll be giving up the first three of those nights if I can get the Poly.

I am considering canceling my BLT reservation for late June if I can get Poly. Haven't decided yet. I would want to be guaranteed the Volcano pool was back open.
