Freedom to Marry Day Protest Planned

Vikki, you are breaking my heart. I can't believe you don't know what hominy is. It's a form of corn. I call it the supersized fat corn that you really don't want to eat unless fried in grease.

I bet you don't know what "broccoli di rabe" is? Now, that's a vegetable not for the faint of heart.

Are there any food products that aren't tasty when fried in bacon grease?

If we didn't fry vegetables in bacon grease they would never be eaten. Plain veggies are just gross! ;)

Ok guys you have to get back to serious discussions about how gays are the bane of society because frankly all of this other discussion is making me laugh and you have no idea how bad laughing hurts when you have a fractured rib. :sad2:

Oh and could someone let me know where I can sign up to get that Oobi character from Noggin' that is the little talking hand banned? He just freaks me out and surely he is sent from the Devil and must be in cohoots with the gays.

Taking this thread into more controvercial areas...

I thought America prided itself in being the land of the free yet seems to proscribe many activities. A free society would allow an activity unless it hurt another person or impinged on their freedom.

I find it odd that the possession of gun is allowed when their defined purpose is to kill and harm but an expression of love is prohibited.

And before people jump up and say it is for protection can I say that we in the Uk have just about given up hope of reoccupation and governing the US.

And my wife is American, in so far as she can trace her family back to when they emigrated to the US in the 1700's and 1800's so no anti American feeling here.

So they think it's yucky. That's ok, they don't have to get involved or watch.

here's a question: Do gay people find public displays of affection by heteros or the thought of heteros doing their thing "yucky" ? I'm really curious....

PDA's (besides holding hands, a quick kiss, etc) have a time and place and no one should have to see two *people* jam their tongues down eachother's throats. Its always the man who has his hand up his girlfriend's shirt in line for Haunted Mansion that will be the first to yell '******' to 2 men holding hands.

As for finding a hetero couple's "private doings" icky...I used to think girls have cooties..............

oh but then I turned 11 and began to grow up. It's a stretch to use the term 'mature' for some people in this thread.

Can we work out something where we ban pro sports? Because they sure test the strength of my hetrosexual marriage. Do you have a passage you can loan me to support my argument for this ban Reverend Rick? :lmao:

You know, I agree with most of your posts, but I cannot agree with this one because.....

Nope, not gonna help. Athletes are hot and good eye candy. Stop trying to deflect my anti-spider campaign woman. I am on a mission from God.

Rick is right! They are eye candy! Did you ever really watch football?

I don't know why I jump into these debates on the DIS. I guess I keep hoping someone who opposes gay marriage will give us a valid reason why it should not exist. I'm sorry, but because you think sex between two men or two women is icky, that still doesn't make it a valid reason. Then of course the other reason we see so frequently on this thread is "God said so" (which he didn't). The idea that rational thought should have any role in the debate seems alien to the anti-equality mob.....The simple fact of the matter is the idea that gays will "destroy marriage" is only the born from the irrational fears and prejudice of the anti gay marriage crowd. And until someone offers up some valid reason why two consenting adults should not get married, straight or gay, I think I'll bow out. Speaking of icky, I always end up feeling that way after reading one of these threads. :crazy2:

God said so.

JoeEpcotRocks: You still haven´t answered my question of whether you have lived anywhere else than in the US and to how many other countries you have travelled?

God said so.

Well I rest my case. No rational argument will sway you, to you its about religion and not about equal rights. You believe your values should be imposed on an entire population of people, we get it. What more can we really say?

The Church doesn't have to say anything. We, the people, who are against such blatant immorality can say so through our voting, public outcry, and anything else to legally influence the laws of society that we and our children live in.

I made a few changes to your statement. I think it sounds much better this way.:thumbsup2

We, the people, who are not against gay and lesbian marriage can say so through our voting, public outcry, and anything else to legally influence and change the laws of society that we and our children live in.

Yes, we all will have our say.

We all have our beliefs (religion) and we all have the right to influence society. Basing one's beliefs on God (or not) does not disqualify anyone from influencing the society that we and our children live in.

Better thru voting than judicial fiat.

Let me guess. You´ve never been outside the US???

The above post once again highlights why we would be so much better off if California would just fall off into the ocean!!:thumbsup2

I guess the "loving" polygomists will be next.

California la la land. Hollywood and Sodom & Gammorah morality.

Much better that 36 million people drown than people protest not being able to marry.

It's off topic I know, but it really grinds my gears. Carry on.

And you believe your values should be imposed -- and your values of course are rational, specifically: men marrying men and women marrying women. :sad2:

When you impose your values, you dictate to an entire population how they can and cannot live. You limit their legal rights. Last time I checked, no one has the right to force another to live according to his or her beliefs.

You bring a lot of fear, anger, and hate to the discussion. God is love. He created us to have free will. He didn't create us to live according to Joe and Joe's interpretation of what is right and wrong.

And you believe your values should be imposed -- and your values of course are rational, specifically: men marrying men and women marrying women. :sad2:

Her values would be imposed on you if only men marrying men and women marrying women was made legal.

Because in 49 states, its the other way around, your values are being imposed on us.

Noone said you should marry a man!

No Joe, equal rights should be imposed for all men and women. Its not really about my values, or your values, its about equal rights.
