I was thrilled to read they are rolling out free wifi at the resorts , but wondering how useful and secure it will be. I paid for the service through my cel carrier last year so I could use netflix, surf, etc. I am able to use my phone as a modem and password protect it. I would love to use WDW's free service instead, but wondering if it would be unadvisable to access my Netflix account, or any site I have to enter a password in. Plus, would it be strong enough to handle watching Netflix?

Using Netflix probably won't be possible. It was at Kidani in January and the wi-fi wasn't very good. I couldn't use Facetime at all and didn't even try to use Netflix because the connection was so spotty. I even had to take my phone to the lounge in order to get a good enough signal to make and change dining reservations.

My advice would be to put a few videos that you want to watch right on your phone and forget Netflix. But if you want to try it, using the resort wi-fi will be as secure as any other public wi-fi network.

We just got back, had I pads, and no issue with wi fi, so glad it was free as needed to send homeschooling reports, and my employer had a need for photos when their system crashed. I hated adding the wifi to budget.
I do also believe that ds had netflex on for dgs. I do not think it was a movie upload.

Also, so glad for Value free refridgerator. No ice box section, but great space!!!
Now a coffee pot and I will be thrilled.
