I'm sorry if I missed this somewhere, but for those staying at Movies, do you walk back & forth to Sports to do the pick-up/drop-off? Just wondering how heavy the fridge/box is, and if it's able to be carried while walking that distance? (we won't have a car) And looking at the dates on the first page, someone might be checking into Movies the day after we leave, so could we leave it with with Movies' luggage services? Or would we have to take it to Sports?

There is NO WAY you could carry the fridge from Sports to Movies, My DH carried a fridge to another room in same resort once and that wasn't pretty and we made plenty of rest stops. You could borrow a luggage cart thingie from luggage services and wheel that over to sport to transport fridge but what I'm doing is have previous swapper leave fridge at Movies luggage service for me and will be leaving it with Movies luggage service for next person as they are also at movies. You just need to work with your swappers before and after you to get fridge where it works for both of you.

Yes...Fire14 is right. It would be really hard to carry the fridge from Sports to Movies. To pick up or leave the fridge, you go to the bell service guys at the front of the relevant resort. As you approach the main entrance doors to the foyer, the bell service guys have a desk just to the left or right (depending on which resort). The fridge will be kept in a big room just behind them. To pick up, if you just go to these guys in person and tell them that you are picking up a fridge THAT HAS BEEN LEFT FOR YOU (or else they will think you are hiring off them) . They will ask your name and go get it. They will bring it to you on a luggage trolley. They will ask if you want them to take it to your room. If they do, please tip them - keep them sweet for the future of fridge swaps . To return, please do the reverse but make sure, if you ask them to fetch if from your room, that you see them take the fridge from your room and make sure they know where it is to be left.

When I used it recently, I took the car to check in parking at Music (where my previous swapper and I had arranged for it to be left) and Bell Services took it to my car. I drove around to Music (where I was staying) to our nearest car parking space and my daughters fiance (21 years old) carried the fridge from the car to the lift as we were on the top floor of ASMusic and then to our room. This was very doable but I certainly wouldn't recommend much further to carry it. We did the same in reverse at the end of our stay except we drove around to Sports (because that is where I was leaving it). We took it in the car ourselves to Sports bell services and left it after being given the receipt.

You can certainly arrange between yourselves as to where you leave/pick up the fridge but please keep to these arrangements as this is how the fridge may well go missing if it is being kept at any resort other than its home of Sports. If for any reason, God forbid you have to cancel your trip on the last minute and you have arranged to pick up the fridge from anywhere else other than Sports, please let me and your next swapper know so that we know where the fridge is.

I was the swapper after and did get it no problem. (I did let Linda know all went well.) Handed it off to the next person after me too without a hitch. Thanks for organizing this.

Hi everyone

I hope that those of you whose countdowns are falling quickly and are soon to go to Disney are enjoying your planning and preps. I also hope that those of you who have been and come back home have lots of happy memories of your trip and that the fridge was really useful . I have noticed that for some of you still waiting to go, you have put your names on both our list and the other swap list that is running as welll. I really do not have a problem with this and I don't blame you, especially if it is a long way off your trip next year as any of the fridges could break down or go missing. However, if you are on both lists and someone comes along who requests your dates, I will contact you to ask which list you want to remain on as I feel it is the only fair way to give everyone a chance to be able to use a free fridge. If anyone wants to make any comments about this decision, please please do so and let me know what you think. I am open to all ideas.
