Free Upgrades for later dates??

It appears that new sets of emails have been going out for those checking in on a later date:

I'm staying 9/20-9/27 and was going to hit Pop Century because of kids, ( I always do deluxe), but was offered the free upgrade as well. So it looks like its not just the early arrivals, check your email daily!!!

I just called to see if I had been sent an email, and I'm glad I did - not because I got the offer (the CM I spoke with said that it had only yet gone out to ressies up until 9/1), but because they had my email address WRONG!

Sheesh, I'd hate like crazy to miss out just because I didn't double check my email address :sad2: !

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed - we're staying from 9/10 to 9/15, just between those dates they're still offering (according to an above post) - hopefully, they'll want my Preferred Pop room back, and upgrade us to the Boardwalk :woohoo: !! Well, a girl can dream, can't she :banana: ?

Due to that last post and the fact that I can't check email at work I just called to see if I had a PIn attached to my reservation. None yet but the guy was very nice and said they are just starting sending them out again and to watch for it for 48 hours and call back if I haven't gotten anything by then. Also reiterated that it is totally random and that they have no way of knowing if you will get one or not (maybe people have been pestering/begging them?). Thanks for the status update! Let's all keep our fingers croossed!

I hope mine is right! I did get my confirmation email and I do log in with it (I booked online) so I am guessing it should be ok. Did you never get your confirmation email? Or do they store emails in different places for confirmation and offers? Weird if they do
 
Just wandering (it's your guys fault, you make me crazy ;) ); if this thing should happen to hit the same days as my stay, who to call and check if I might be offered an upgrade? There have been enough on here not getting the email, but still getting the pin and therefor offer, so I'm thinking it can't hurt to call. I talked to reservations during the weekend about something else and asked them how this all worked. They told me that if any upgrading is done, the resort handles it, so talk to them. But my logic would say; reservation would know and deal with this, but than again I might be very wrong. Anyhow, too much talk for one question if this does hit; who to call; reservation or the resort?

I only got my confirmation via snail mail, and in fact, one of the CM's I spoke to said that they don't send confirmation via email (I did book by phone, the day the free dining came out - maybe that's the problem?). Oy, sounds like I have to call yet again . . . .

I am at work and too busy obsessing about this to get much done. I booked online and got the confirmation of my booking right afterwards. So that's all I meant by confirmation, sorry to confuse. Maybe they only send that for online bookings, since you use your email as your login for that.

I called the regular reservations line: 407-939-6244

He seemed to know about it and all that so it seemed the right place to call. I know some people posted the entirety of their email on the WWYD thread, so it is probably listed there as well. That's where I called a few months ago when I changed resorts too.
 
That's the one I would think of when calling also, and did. (had some questions about the upgrade I made from standard to preferred) Guess I must have gotten a CM who didn't have a clue yet about this busload of pixiedust.
 
I am so jealous of the upgrades!! I am crossing every finger, toe and hair to get an upgrade for mid(12-22) september. :wizard: That would definately make my Romantic trip much more romantic!:cloud9: When I booked, all I was able to get was AS:Sp And checking my dates on the website, :surfweb: all the values are booked. I keep trying to see if POP becomes available. At least my email program checks for new mail every 2 mins. and lets me know in the taskbar if there is new mail. I just have to stay on the computer for the next few weeks non-stop! :lmao:
 
I check in on the 8th and while it is free, it would be a nice suprise for my dad for his birthday, other then dinner with the princesses.

I want to hear more about this...I can hardly stand the wait! Any more news on the upgrade being offerred for later dates?????? We check on 9/21 - that is SOOOOOO close to this person's travel date!!!!!!

I'm not sure whether to believe the OP or not... because my logical thinking is that if mass emails did go out... we would have heard ALOT more information by now... especially on the Dis :rotfl:

I guess we just have to wait and see. I really would like to know though, yes I know that selfish, but at least this way I can get back to my obsessive planning. Now I'm completely thrown off :scared:

I'm still debating (and dreaming) of which resort I would upgrade to... right now I'd love to stay at SSR (1-bedroom if possible, cause of the tub :boat:) but my mom enjoys the spacious quarters of OKW's 1-bedroom. If we can only get a studio, we'll opt for SSR. Hey, a girl can dream right? :cloud9:

Hopefully more information will flood the boards by the end of this week.
 
I am not too sure how accurate that information was. 1) I havent read anyone on THESE boards claiming they got an upgrade.. and you know with all the posters here, if emails did go out, at least a couple of people on the DIS would have posted already 2) I spoke to 2 CMs yesterday to double check I had nothing attached to my name and both said they were only through 9/1 as of right now. If anything later comes out, they wont know until the day it does.

So I honestly dont think there is truth to that post.
 
OPs, you're right, if that was really true, seems like folks on the Dis would be getting it too. I guess I am just really hoping! Like you, I am also dreaming about which resort I'd choose. I would be so happy to try either one! I will also enjoy a stay at Pop though as it will be our first time there. Not getting the upgrade will definitely not ruin our trip! DD is SOOOOOO excited about it b/c I've shown her the slide show from AllEars. She is so excited about seeing the giant Big Wheels like hers! :rotfl:

My mom is travelling with us and she would REALLY flip out over a DVC upgrade. Now that is the way she likes to travel! :goodvibes It would definitely make her trip. She isn't going to love Pop like she would a DVC resort and she also loves POFQ. She likes pretty places more than the big loud atmosphere of Pop I'd say.

Anyway, I hope more news of other dates keeps coming in this week!!!
 
I'm happy just going no matter where I stay. I'm glad to here some peoples trips are going to be even better then before, I hope you all are very happy and have lots of fun. Good luck to all that are going to try to upgrade.
 
Does anyone think it'd help to keep trying to quote our resort for the dates of our stay? Like maybe the system would see people trying to buy it, but it's sold out, and suggest the emails? Just a crazy thought...heehee

Im with you on this. While an upgrade would be great, I too am happy staying anywhere-as long as I have my family and were at disney, My kids are going to enjoy POP way more than they will OKW or SSR, So Im not sure the upgrade would benefit us anyway, Now If it were just DH and me, I would JUMP on the upgrade.
Plus If we dont get the upgrade then maybe we'll get lucky and win the stay in the castle:rolleyes1 , okay so Im not counting on that either:rotfl:
