Someone had posted about it on the codes and rates board..I believe the dates for the email were 3/12 through 3/27. The other poster had been staying at POP and got the email too! The upgrades were to Saratoga Springs or Old Key West!

Just being curious..we booked through a travel agent so I am guessing we would never receive anything like this? This is our first trip and now I am really wishing I would have just booked directly through Disney. I am just being curious!

We had reservations for Port Orleans Riverside and I received an email yesterday about the free upgrade. Our travel dates our 3/27-4/1. I also asked to make sure we still get the gift card and we do! It is still the $500 one, but I would not expect the higher one since we only paid for a moderate resort and the $500 is still a good deal. We chose Saratoga Springs and are super excited!

I wish we would have booked 7 nights instead of 5 But, we might not have received the upgrade.

These free upgrades are the randomly chosen or does Disney use a process in determining who gets them? What would be the criteria for getting the free upgade? We are staying at CBR from 3/13 -3/21 and I am intrigued about the possibility of a free upgrade but not holding my breath. Also wondering if making the change would even be worth it as CBR looks like alot of fun. Our party consist of Me, DW, DS16, DSF 16 and DD2.

awesome! i remember they had these upgrades during free dining, the values sold out so they upgraded people to ssr or okw to make room in the values.

Well, keep in mind that SSR studios all have only 1 queen and a full size pull-out sofa. Mind you, I love the resort, but this does present problems for some folks expecting 2 regular beds. Only OKW studios have 2 queens.

Congrats. We have have been fortunate to receive an upgrade on two seperate occasions in Sept when we have gone for the Free Dining offer. Both times we choose Saratoga Springs, I love that resort and if money was not an object that is where I would always stay. On both of our occasions we were there for 7 nights, so you still probably would have gotten the upgrade.
