free tickets to Kennedy Space Center

The tickets cover:

- Parking
- Admission to the KSC Main Complex, including all exhibits and shows
- Bus tour, which includes the LC-39 Observation Gantry, International Space Station Center and the Apollo Saturn V Center
- IMAX Movies
- Visit to the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame, which includes the museum of personal artifacts and interactive activity floor simulators
- A second day free for use at the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame® - must be used within seven days

We're in Massachusetts, the 8th District, and I just emailed our congressman Stephen Lynch.

Our trip isn't until September, so we are well in advance of the 6 month mark.

I will come back and update when/if I hear back.

Still waiting to hear from Congressman's office. Person that handles tickets is out of office until 1/2. Hmmmmm....not feeling too good about it at this point. Boo.

The OP said the tickets were left at will-call, but things might have changed since then so hopefully someone with recent experience can chime in.

Yes, you pick up your tickets at the will call window at KSC. Your Congressional office should also give you instructions on what to do.

Are people contacting their Congressional Representative or their Senator? There's a lot more turnover on the House side, both of the elected officials and their staff, so I would think that Senate offices would be more likely to be familiar with this process.
We'll be in FL in September, so I wan to start trying this month.

We were told to contact our Congressman. Of course, our Congressman wasn't aware of the perk (as some are not), and said that they could only get free ticket for Kennedy Performing Arts Center. When I told them about the tickets for Kennedy Space Center also being available, it took her office about 3 weeks to come back with the answer - needs to be 6 months prior. I understand that many congress people don't know about this just a matter of course.

Don't know if Senator's get the same perk or not.

We got them here in Georgia! I emailed back in July for this February and was notified a couple of weeks ago that we got them, plus a parking pass! Whoopee! I'm excited; I've never been, and it's out of our budget otherwise.

I got the following reply back this afternoon for the request made yesterday:

Good afternoon! I am the Tour Coordinator for Congressman Pompeo. Thank you for contacting our office regarding tickets to the Kennedy Space Center. In order to submit the request for tickets, I will need a bit more information about your group. How many children and how many adults are in your group? Children are categorized as under 12, and adults are 12 and up. I am allowed to reserve 4 complimentary tickets, and I can put in the request exactly 6 months in advance. I will plan to reserve those tickets first thing January 19th.​

I got an email today from my representative asking the details of our trip down so they can request tickets for us. Four per request, must give date and number of adults and children. Wahoo!
